Would a LCD wafer without a backlight but with all it's usual stuff act as a transparent screen? (or am I just being a moron)
Can someone recommend me an alternative to IOGraph? it only uses one screen, which therefore only uses the left half of the picture. Since the website hasn't been updated since 2010, I doubt there will be a fix anytime soon...
Starting yesterday my SSD has found a new hobby in deciding to randomly stop being detected by the computer, when this happens I get a KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. No idea what causes it, last time it happened when I was browsing YouTube after about 8 hours uptime. Windows refuses to boot until I restart the computer, since it's fixed after a reboot it doesn't seem to be a faulty SATA cable or anything. I hate having an 8gb ipod, I either have to drop the quality to 196kbps or listen to the same few albums over and over again. Anyone have firsthand experience with the SanDisk Sansa Clip+? Thinking about buying http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16855125127 and http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220452 for like $60 total so that I can have more than an eighth of all my music. First, I would like some pros/cons from any owners.
I'm not an owner of the Clip+ but from what I hear that thing is fucking awesome

It's durable (I've used it nearly every day and dropped it on the ground many times), small and surprisingly powerful. Pros: Durable Rockbox-supported Card reader Long battery time (improved with Rockbox) Small (that's good in my opinion. Excellent if you like jogging/running outside) ROCKBOX Powerful considering it's size Fucking Rockbox Cons: Doesn't have the greatest audio quality, but the price and the size makes up for it. Besides, it is mostly "fixed" by tinkering with the EQ that comes with Rockbox (unless you have really neutral-sounding headphones, if that makes any sense) Anyway, Rockbox is a custom firmware that you can install on a variety of different music players. The features are simply too long to list so here's a feature comparison and a .pdf manual
my friend needs a new video card and he might get a 7850, would there be a big bottleneck with a Q9550 ? If its a small one then its not a big deal. [editline]7th October 2012[/editline] Also his budget is either $150, $200 or $250, So can I get a list of the best cards for those prices? [editline]7th October 2012[/editline] it can be nvidia or ATI but nvidia is preferred unless you can prove that the ATI will rape the nvidia card ( his dad is a die hard nvidia fan )
Is there a good processor around the same price as the i3 3220?, i'm on a tight budget and i heard that the i3 3220 will be a bottleneck in my system. Specs: Rosewill CHALLENGER Mid-ATX case SeaSonic M12II 620W PSU ASRock Z77 Extreme 3 motherboard Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 OC 2GB G.SKILL Ripjaw 2X4 DDR3 ram Western Digital Caviar Black 7200 RPM 1TB Windows 7 64bit Home Premium With the i3 3220 it's currently $864, i'd like to try not to go over $900.

I have recently checked my CPU temperature and it is reading 40 degrees idle, a few days ago that was 31 degrees. I am using a h60 to cool my 955 OC to 3.8ghz, any ideas ?
There won't be a bottleneck in that
But i heard i need an i5 to play games in around 1920x1080 res at medium-high, i look up videos using the specs of my future build and alot of videos are at 1280x1024 at high settings.

I threw in a i3-2120 that I got for extremely cheap, and some POS motherboard I happened to have for some reason I can't remember. For shits and giggles I threw my 460 in it. Can run crysis at 1920x1080 on high at a consistent 40 fps. Not ultra high settings, and it chugs when 400 explosions start happening, but if you need to cut some money, a 3220 is all the power you really need. Myself, I'd rather skip the video card for a month, get the 3570k, and be set for several years. If that isn't an option for you, get the 3220. Both will server you well. The 3570k is easily the better processor, and won't need to be upgraded as quickly, but at the end of the day, if you cant swing it, the 3220 is a viable alternative. Hell the 2100 is viable if you really want to cut into your price. They are on sale right now at newegg I believe.

Can anyone make out this section of an XP cd key? Best I can figure is 9 V {3,8} H W Y P {F,P,R} {8,9} {?}

Afraid not, already wiped the drive. Tried those, U ins't a valid char and 9V3HW - YPP9J didn't work.
I'm pretty new to RAID and stuff, how do I setup a RAID array on a 32 GB SSD for my operating systems and a 500 GB HDD for my data, don't want data striping or mirroring or anything. Also is it possible to reserve the SSD for the operating systems and just have the data on the HDD but have them in RAID treated as a single logical drive? The reason I want them in RAID without data striping is just that I want one logical drive.

[editline]8th October 2012[/editline] And no, you can't choose which drive the data is stored on when they're in a raid, that's the whole point of a raid, they're no longer two separate drives.
Well there are certain kinds of RAID that can profit from it.
Well there are certain kinds of RAID that can profit from it.
Oh, okay. Well I'm sure he won't.
Ok well is there any way to just bunch the two drives together as one drive then
Well if you really just want to span files across, it will remove most of the performance. Even Windows has a built in feature to do that in drive manager I think. It would be better to use them seperately in any case. [editline]8th October 2012[/editline] You want OS on SSD and files on HDD, why the fuck do oyu want to connect them????
Oh yeah oops gosh
Afraid not, already wiped the drive. Tried those, U ins't a valid char and 9V3HW - YPP9J didn't work.
Define wiped.
Ok well is there any way to just bunch the two drives together as one drive then
Yes, but I doubt you want that. What you actually want to do is install your OS as normal to just the SSD, then migrate your home folder over to the hard drive and install whatever programs you don't have room for onto your hard drive.

The SSD will store commonly used files and run from there and dynamically add and remove files. The HD has all the data, but the SSD will cache commonly used files. Crucial has something like this, Corsair too I think, but any Z77 or Z68 can do it.
IMO SSD caching is generally a waste. Keep them as discreet drives.
IMO SSD caching is generally a waste. Keep them as discreet drives.
And I would agree. But he doesn't want them separate.
