Can anyone recommend a decent UK based web host?
I have 2 of my company sites and my personal site plus 2 parked domains.
They don't need to be VAT registered but it is a plus if they are. I'm looking to pay for 3 years service in one go as I like to pay in longer terms. The 3 years with my current host is about to expire but I require more space, bandwidth and databases.
I'm fine with shared hosting plans.
I don't think many hosts offer 3 year "lump" payments.
Hell, I'd even be happy with biennially. It's just my past ones were paid in 3 year lumps. It's not a major point, more a preference.
Thanks for the replys to my questions. I still have fears of my Motherboard shorting out shortly after installing OEM Windows and not grounding myself but i'll worry about those when the time comes.
I've been doing some research and i've seen on forums like Tom's Hardware that the 7850 gets poor performance in games like BF3 (25FPS max on ultra at 1080p, no AA) and i saw a suggestion saying to get this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127699
Is it worth the extra money to get this over the Sapphire card?
Can Sapphire HD7850 Play ultra on 1920x1080 resolution?*
I play mostly BF3, skyrimV, COD 3, prototype2, LOL.*
I upgraded my monitor from 1600x900 to 1920x1080 res. And wondering can this card maxed out all games i throw at it @ smooth Fps. I use HD7770 vaporX on my old setup which is at 900p resolution and play most of my games in ultra with decent fps.*
So im planning to buy Sapphire HD7850 for my build.*
Any thought about this card?

Yes to all of those
BF3 you can hit a constant 26 fps, barely playable, but 26 is 26.
Prototype, you should be hitting 40 on max.
I would spend the Extra 10 and get a 660.
This is what i saw on the thread.

Thats at 2560x1440 resolution... ALOT of cards have a hard time pulling that resolution off at high frames ( single cards, not SLI ). At 1920x1080 the 7850 gets like 50+ frames on ultra in BF3.
[editline]12th October 2012[/editline]
It would be worth it to get the 7870 though if you can afford it.

Here, reliable benchmarks. http://www.anandtech.com/show/5625/amd-radeon-hd-7870-ghz-edition-radeon-hd-7850-review-rounding-out-southern-islands/11

Okay, thank you.
I have my eye on this XFX card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150605, is XFX a good manufacturer?
It takes me sli 670s to play bf3 at 2560x1440 at 80fps.
For those giving me dumbs:

Yeap, XFX are very reliable manufacturers and the Double D's are really good at aircooling.
Can you get metro to not take up the whole screen somehow? its pretty annoying
My power supply fan gets really loud sometimes like it's rubbing against something. Is that anything I should be worried about?
Okay, so i've made a few changes but i need to cheapen this build up a bit.
Can i make this around $800-$860 without removing Windows 7, the Intel i3 3220 and the XFX 7870?

I know it's the wrong thread but i won't be welcome in the PC Building section for a while.

The hard drive seems like a rip-off; you can save $30 by getting this one. (I've personally used the WD5000AAKX in two computers and it's solid.) I don't know whether the decreased cache makes that much of a difference on a 7200RPM drive.

I'll try it.
The main reason i got the $99 drive was because it had better reviews. This hard drive atleast has better reviews than the caviar black.
Thank you.

Caviar Blacks are WD's flagship HDD and one of the best on the market. A bit overpriced definitely, but worth it for it's reliability. If you need to cut costs avoid the Caviar Blue and get a Spinpoint F3, bit more expensive but you get more space and another top of the line hdd.

I'm afraid to touch the Samsung Spinpoint and the Western Digital Black because recently i've seen nothing but DOA reviews.

DOA reviews mean literally nothing. Most of the people who have DOAs will send reviews, but all drives have them. It's called the vocal minority fallacy.
Besides, what's the worst that happens if you do get a DOA drive? It's dead before you put any data on it. You have a bit of hassle returning it and getting a replacement, but it doesn't mean you wasted $80 or whatever. And if you raise a bit of fuss, you can generally get some sort of compensation for the trouble.
Now, if a drive had some weird tendency to die after three months, that would be worth avoiding, because by then you'll have a lot of data on there that might not be properly backed up. But dead on arrival? Not a huge deal unless it takes them forever to replace it (coughcoughAsuscough).
I'm going to do a fresh install of Windows, but is it worth upgrading to Windows 8?
If so should I get 32 or 64bit? Here's my specs.

Definitely get 64-bit; there's no justification for 32. Windows 8 is a matter of preference. It boots faster, but some people don't like the new start screen. Try the Release Preview or the Enterprise trial (final version); they're both free for a while.

Not anymore.
Looking to get a new graphics card, my current Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 is pretty much borked so I'm now looking for a bit of an upgrade. Anyone have any recommendations? Not interested in OC and prefer something up to £250/$400 (ish).
When did you buy the 6950? If I were you I would RMA the 6950 then buy another to xfire.

Card is around a year old but I'm getting all kinds of faults with it and not sure how much longer it will last. To be honest I'm not even 100% sure it is the problem, but I have the money and would like to upgrade to a better card just to future proof for awhile (GTA 5, Arma 3) which is why my budget is fairly flexible and have plans if the card isn't the problem anyway. Not interested in crossfire, have heard way too many problems with crossfiring which has put me off the entire concept.
Later on I might change my mind and end up crossfiring, but for this particular scenario I just want a single card and decide later on if I want to take the plunge.
So there's this terrible digitized static and clicking coming from my left headphone, and when adjust the volume on my speakers they hiss like crazy. I'm assuming it's my motherboard's onboard audio, but does anyone know of any alternate solutions?
Here's a sample.
If you listen really close you can hear the clicking and a bit of digital nonsense.
Woah wait hold on what the fuck. This shit's still happening if I unplug my speakers.
Sounds like interference on your power source.
I have a d-link wireless router and a linksys wired router hooked together. Whenever a device attempts to connect to the DLink, the wired router dumps every wired computer on the network, any idea why?
Is it normal for old HDDs too run a bit hot?
My 2 old 300gb is a bit hotter than my 2 not so old 500gbs

Just wonder, is this normal? I can't find anything wrong so I hope it's normal.
I need to choose between Nexus 7 and Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, both cost 269€ here.
I'm probably going to pick Nexus 7, but is there any reason why I should buy Galaxy Tab instead?
No
my second 1280x1024 monitor suddenly just went to 1024x768 and won't change back, why? it's not coming up with the name in either the nvidia control panel (I'm running a 560ti) or in the windows screen resolution options - it's just coming up as "digital display" and "non-pnp monitor"
tried updating drivers, reinstalled drivers w/ driver sweeper, nothing. can anyone help?
