Is ASrock a reliable company to buy from?, i was looking at the Z77 Extreme3 motherboard by them but it has a few reviews saying it won't go into POST or it's meant to fail because it has flux on it which attracts dust.

Good god man, yes ASrock is reliable, there are DOA's and shit all the damn time. This is hardware, shit happens. if anything doesn't worst, just RMA it. And that thing about attracting dust is bullshit, everything will get dust. Just stop worrying man.
If I had a hard drive resting on a voltage transformer, and tried to read from said hard drive, would that brick it?
I suck at googling, been at it for a good 10 mins aswell.
Any ways to make my Windows 7 look like Ubuntu 12.04? I think that it looks great, but I still want to be able to use my windows applications.
ZScreen has been replaced by ShareXmod
Hold on.
ShareX renamed themselves again, and they aren't even pushing the program with the new name out in updates?
I'm starting to hate this developer.

No, ShareX still exists I think; ShareXMod is a fork. I dunno.
Hello guys, I have sold my Revodrive which contains my OS, while I wait for my two new SSDs I need to fix some shit. I have Windows and some programs on C: (Revodrive) and some other programs on G: (Normal HDD). So I was thinking if I copied the entire C: to G:, then re-labled G: to C: and partion the newly made C: to have a small fake HDD (new G:) with symlinks to the folders on C: because most of my programs are going to look for programs on G: which have been copied to C:, and that is why I'm gonna make a new partion.
Sounds like it's going to work? Or maybe there is an easier way?

Ubuntu and Wine.
Ubuntu and Wine.
Wine doesn't work as smooth as on Windows in many cases, sometimes it lags to hell- Example AoE 2.

Yeah, Wine continues to fail me. Maybe it'll be acceptable in five or ten years, but not yet.
Been looking ito custom themes for Windows, opinion on this? - Worth it, dangerous?
A link to the best way on doing it and maybe a theme recommendation? Tired of Aero lately.

Not dangerous at all if you follow instructions, first thing you need to do is patch some Windows files. Then browse Deviantart for some nice themes.
Here is one of my favourites.
Oh, but on installing the themes how will i go about that?
If you had read the description of a theme almost all of them say this:
[How to install]
1. Install Universal Theme Patcher, re-patch again if you updated to SP1.
2. Copy everything in themes folder (Elune folder, Elune 1(Bottom), Elune 1 (Top)...) into C:\Windows\Resources\Themes
3. Take Ownership, rename the orignal to back up and replace modified explorerframe.dll in System32 folder.
4. Restart Windows & then select this theme in Personalize Menu

When it says: 3. Take Ownership, rename the orignal to back up and replace modified explorerframe.dll in System32 folder. - it's basically just backing up that explorerframe file in case something goes wrong and nothing else?

Yup, the Take Ownership is if you cannot do anything to the file. You need to do a change to the registry for it to show up in the context menu.

so what i did now was copying the original dll file, now i just replace it with the other one, restart and chose that theme? - backed up in dropbox.
[editline]21st October 2012[/editline]
Also i took ownership, however Im not allowed to replace the .dll file? - keep in mind i'm on home premium

I also tried theme manager but nothing seems to work

It's usually not worth it in my experience, it's not like you're examining the details of your shell all day.
Hey guys, guess what. I fucked my WIndows over and am posting this from a USB with Gparted on it.
I have an HDD with Windows 8 on it and all of my files, but it wont recognize it as an OS drive. Any help is appreciated.

Well, what were the last things you did before it broke?
Well, what were the last things you did before it broke?
Doesnt really matter now since the bootable drive Revodrive has wiped itself. The HDD with the OS on has a boot flag in gparted but I am greeted by no operating system found.
[editline]22nd October 2012[/editline]
Also, is there a way to install linux mint from gparted *pretend theres a question mark here*

Okay, I got unetbootin in but I need p7zip, shit.
If you can get into a terminal you can install Gentoo
but you might not want to do that so wait until other people come up with ways to install other distros
What's the best CPU cooler that doesn't require a backplate? The Hyper 212+ doesn't fit my motherboard due to some voltage regulators under the board. I've used a Cooler Master Hyper TX3 in my old Core 2 Quad machine and it worked fine, though I want to know if there's anything better.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, but can anyone recommend me somewhere I can buy 44-pin 2.5" hard drives, preferably under $50? I tried looking myself, but the selection is extremely limited.

If you haven't already, try searching under "IDE", "ATA" and "PATA" 2.5" drives, not just 44-pin. I've rarely seen them referred to as such.
Thinking about building a new PC sometime soon, anyone have suggestions as to cases? Prefer sub $250 range.
Does anyone know how I could clean mouse piss and shit off of electronics without ruining them?
Depends on what kind of device. I've mostly dealt with cleaning second-hand stuff electronics that I've bought from smokers, though I can offer some advice. For plastic / metal, I scrub with hot water and soap. If the smell sticks around, I wipe it down with Goo-Gone and give it another hot water + soap scrub. For motherboards and stuff like that, use rubbing alcohol. If possible, put the PCB in a sealable container with rubbing alcohol and shake it around so that you're flushing every possible area.
Generally you want to strip the thing down, you're not going to rid of it all by cleaning it externally.
Is there a way to see which physical ports on a PC are which version of USB, using like a flash drive or something?
I can check that I have some 2.0 ports with the hardware manager, but I have no clue which ones are 2.0 on the front or back of my computer.
I'd like to start a Big Picture set up, but I think all the wireless components will be a mess. First is the monitor transmitter. My 570 has one HDMI and two DVI, so I'd need either an HDMI splitter (if that exists) or I'd have to use DVI for either my primary monitor or the TV. I can't get anything that will set me back too much, because I need controllers too, and preferably a keyboard/mouse set up if any of you know a good wireless k&m gaming set that can be used on a couch and what not.
Best Software where you can Select an area to capture/screen grab and then upload to Imgur?
Needs to be piss easy. I heard about zscreen, but it seems to be down now.
I would prefer it to be Cross platform, specific Windows and Linux.
[editline]21st October 2012[/editline]
Right now using Hyperdesktop. But it won't upload to a specific account. So I can't save the pictures for later.
I use puu.sh and it's never failed me. Handles hotlinking to forums well, can upload freehand rectangle, window, clipboard or desktop, can upload any kind of file, can save locally. Doesn't seem to work with Linux, though.
