Steam keeps crashing randomly, and so does the Netflix player. Would this have to do with my shitty internet connection, or is it program incompatibility? If it's the latter, how would I find out what it's incompatible with?
I remember there being a site on here a while ago that had links to various programs. You could download them individually or you had the option to put the files into a bundle. Does anyone know what this site is?
http://ninite.com/ That one?
http://ninite.com/ That one?
I remember the site looking full blue and not as cheesy but yes, it looks like it's the one. Thanks.
I'm looking at some CPUs since I plan on building a new PC in the winter. I came across AMD APUs which are CPUs with a GPU in it. I have a dedicated graphics card (6850 that i'm not upgrading). Will the graphics card make the APU useless as far as its GPU goes? Should I buy a CPU without it, or is it standard now?

They give up a bunch of processing power to accommodate the GPU in comparison to the i3. You'd get way more out of going for Intel than getting an APU you wouldn't end up using for it's purpose, which is low budget gaming builds and media centers without having to drop money on dedicated graphics.
Steam keeps randomly crashing for no apparent reason, is there any way to find out if it's incompatible with something that's running in the background?
Man;38260175']So I got my SSD installed and whatnot and when I went to benchmark it I got less then advertised results, I followed this guide http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds, is there something that i am doing wrong? I have it set to AHCI in my bios and it is set in windows, I have the latest chipset drivers, etc. Here's what I'm supposed to be getting roughly [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/vI28X.jpg[/thumb] And here's what I am actually getting, [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/58Bw5.png[/thumb] Heres my full system specs if that helps [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/VDqjA.png[/thumb]
Anybody?
Man;38297125']Anybody?
From what I can see, this is an issue with your motherboard's SATA III implementation (Marvell 9128 Controller) nothing you can really do. http://forums.crucial.com/t5/Solid-State-Drives-SSD/M4-128GB-and-Marvell-9128-controller/td-p/82918 this thread mentions that it stops at around 380~MB/s which is what yours looks to be at. You should go on http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1366/Rampage_III_Formula/#download and get the SATA drivers anyhow, might make it better.

does anyone know of a portable wifi adapter that uses a ethernet plug in? I have a REALLY shitty old laptop that has usb 1.1, so it can't handle usb wifi adapters, but it can handle a direct in ethernet feed.
Man;38297688']Ok, thanks, another issue is that after I switched my motherboard to AHCI my CD/DVD drive no longer works, could this be due to the drivers also?
Does it show up in windows and not read disks, or not show up? If it doesn't show up in Windows, does it show up in the BIOS? I'd just try a different SATA port. If it's on the SATA II ports try it in the SATA III ports. It's fairly small.
it looks usb to me
The first xbox, but nevermind. I thought it was USB powered, but it needs to be plugged into the wall! My b. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833389024 looks like a great, cheap, option. what you're looking for, I think, is called a wireless ethernet client if you want to look for a different one. A lot of 360 generic adapters will work for this, since they have to get around not using USB due to MS using proprietary stuff.

http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1223071 I asked a question there, it'd be awesome if one of you guys could chip in :)
Man;38297899']About the extra drivers, would i have to reformat to get them to work properly or is there a way to install them without starting over?
They aren't needed. If you ever installed XP on a SATA drive you'd know what they were for. SATA didn't exist (or was fairly new?) back then so the drivers didn't come on the disc, to get your HDD recognized you had to put the drivers on a floppy so windows could recognize your HDD and install. Motherboard manufacturers started adding IDE mode which would emulate IDE so that the floppys weren't needed, and Vista onward (I think XP comes with them now, too) comes with generic drivers now.

Something as big as that is still ok, i can stick it on, but all I need to do is pick up local wifi.

You can't power something through Ethernet unless there's some PoE one and your laptop has PoE but that's pretty unlikely. There might be a battery powered one somewhere, but if there is it's probably expensive.

I'll have to test it first though, my laptop does what it wants, for instance, forgetting what usb and wifi is. Thanks!
Sorry if this has already been asked - What's the best tool/application to manage Windows 8 tiles? I've been using OblyTile which works well for creating tiles but you can't edit them.
Do they make 16GB of Ram in a single stick yet?

My motherboard has 2 pci-3 16x slots, would it be possible to run an ATI 7700 as a main and keep my current nvidia GTS250 as a physx slave? my motherboard is a 680i LT Sli so it isn't crossfire capable

LG IPS235V-BN or Asus VE247H - Both 130€, which is better for gaming in general?
