Is there any way to remove the back button going back a page? It's the worst thing in the world. I have a mouse button for that, stupid windows.
Is there any way to remove the back button going back a page? It's the worst thing in the world. I have a mouse button for that, stupid windows.
In a browser or explorer window. I dont see how using the opposite of the back button is hard.
In a browser or explorer window.
Browser, chrome. or both, if that's possible. I don't really have a problem with it happening in explorer but I still have my mouse for that.

[editline]3rd November 2012[/editline] Well I cant find anything, if you really hate it then you could just use firefox.
you have failed me
you have failed me
Its chromes fault for hating ui customisation.
Glossy screens look like shit. $0.02.
I've been thinking of getting a new motherboard graphics card and processor. Might be getting a Gtx680. But I'm not very sure about the mobo and processor. Can anyone recommend me one? Lets just set my budget to $600 for now.
Im picking out a laptop screen. Should I go with the Matte or Super glossy?
Glossy looks better, but it gets glary a lot easier, and dirt is more noticeable. If you're going to be using it outdoors or where there's a lot of bright lights that would be behind you, matte's probably the way to go. I have a glossy netbook, and I prefer glossy over matte but watching movies with low brightness (to conserve battery) sucks when you're outside.

Because I'm stuck between Matte and Glossy. I want the best picture quality possible to make my gaming experience as immersive as possible, and I love looking at really high definition pictures of space, nature etc. Would the Matte screen make a noticeable impact on picture quality, or not really? I'm going to be gaming indoors mostly, but I mean if cranking screen brightness to full can reduce glare on a glossy screen, I'll just go with glossy. Also, an unrelated question: does the wireless card I'll get inside my laptop make much of a difference? I'm going to be gaming a lot, and as of yet, I haven't decided whether I'll shell out money on an ethernet cable and just keep my laptop plugged in, or if I'll be in my room gaming most of the time. So should I dish out ~$60 on a top-of-the-line wireless network card to get a seamless, lag-free connection, or is it not really worth it (ie will a standard wireless network card do?).
Standard network cards will do you fine depending on the connection you have, if you have crazy ass down/up speeds then you wouldn't be able to utilize that but 99% of the US doesn't need to worry about it as we have shitty ISPs. Glossy looks much nicer and after having to be stuck with a laptop for nearly 3 years I can tell you that when you're inside it makes little to no difference compared to a matte screen unless there will be a window directly behind you. Even then just closing the blinds on your window a little bit will reduce it to where it'd be unnoticeable, and yeah there will be a slight difference between matte/glossy as far as picture quality goes.

Thanks buddy. Glossy screen it is with a standard network card. Booyah!
Ok quick question. I have an old laptop. Its hard drive failed. It had windows 7 on it pre-installed when we bought it. I don't have any product keys for it. Can I transfer that windows 7 license onto a new hard drive without buying it again? Is there someone who I can contact that will help me with this?
Pretty sure you can call microsoft and tell them what happened, they'll unregister the key. There's a sticker on the bottom of your laptop with the product key. Re-install after and use that key.

That's where Dell's been hiding them these days, and I think other manufacturers are doing the same [editline]4th November 2012[/editline] not all of them though
Great. Now I have a GTX680 on its way. Was wondering will that bottleneck my i5-760.
Howcome pages/youtube videos load slowly unless I'm downloading something?
Great. Now I have a GTX680 on its way. Was wondering will that bottleneck my i5-760.
Probably.
So if I use atapwd and the master password to unlock a hard drive, and it shows as being unlocked, but the next time I start the machine it's locked again, am I to assume that something on the machine is bad, or is it the drives? How can I tell? I don't want to sink money into new drives only for it to have been the machine all along.
Saw the Dell S2240m at Fry's yesterday for $128. Is it worth replacing my 2 current TN panels? I've seen about 1 review of it total, and it came out pretty recently. I'm not even sure if it's IPS, because Dell's website and the monitor's box said absolutely nothing related to IPS/TN. There's next to no information on it online, so I'm not sure if it's a great deal or not.

So I think I've been stupid enough to install my graphics card on the wrong expansion slot. (Have mercy on me, it's my first build.) [t]http://www.asus.com/websites/Global/products/QcUQBkItsSA9XvuX/U47grYOkpJQBYJdL_500.jpg[/t] [P8H61-M Pro motherboard] So there's a 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 and a 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x1 mode) slot. For reasons I can't recall why, I went for the black slot. The mobo manual doesn't seem to specify which slot is which, other than labeling the blue slot PCIEX16_1 and the black PCIEX16_2. But after a read from this forum and a look at speccy, I'm almost convinced to change the slot. [t]http://puu.sh/1moJs[/t] So could someone please confirm my mistake? I'd like to change it as soon as possible.
Gonna ask again. I can't use my external harddrive on my Windows machine. It just doesn't pop up in the WINDOWSKEY+E menu but when I plug it in I hear the sound of something being plugged in. I can see the drive in DISKPART but I don't know what to do further that. It works 100% fine on my Lubuntu (Linux distro) computer.

Thats not a fact or standard...
Thats not a fact or standard...
I've only ever seen x16 on the highest slot while x8 and lower have been under it.
Its common, but so are 7 slots on ATX and the location of certain elements, but they arent always like that.
[t]http://puu.sh/1mqq2[/t] Success! Thanks guys.
