Recently my web browser (SRWare Iron, it's basically a version of Chrome) has been doing this strange bug thing where it shrinks the size of the webpage I'm viewing but doesn't shrink the size of the tab. I can't really explain what I mean so here's a picture showing it:
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/webpagesshrinking.png[/img_thumb]
At first it only did it with Twitter but now it seems to be doing it with other web pages and I THINK it only happens when I reopen the browser (which I have set to remember what I was last viewing). I can fix it by closing the tab and reloading the page but once the page has shrunk in that manner the tab is useless and will remain like that until I get rid of it. Any ideas why? It started doing it this week and I've not done anything in particular which I can think of that may have caused it.
Is Adobe Creative Cloud worth it at £15.88 a month (I'm eligible for Student discount)
I'm using Photoshop & Flash (and Encore & After Effects a bit too) a lot recently at college and I was wondering if it's possibly the cheapest way to go (legally)

Considering it's almost £50 a month normally and contains all of the stuff I'd say it's worth it!

Yeh I was looking at the prices for them programs individually, even with student discount it's still way too much.
I'll have a word with my tutor tomorrow (you need proof that you're in education so I'd have to get if from college anyway) and see what he says about it.
The cost isn't a problem for me as I work part-time every saturday so I'd be able to pay the monthly cost in about half a day's work. I can ask for extra hours if needs be anyway.

Does your college e-mail address not count? You can use that to get Office for £70 which is an absolute bargain. Nearly took the offer up but I managed to do all of my database work in the free trial.

I guess it could, but I've already got Office. It could be used as proof that I'm in education

How long do you think this SSD will last if I only install my OS on it (Windows 7 64-bit)?
So I just bought a $1300 sager laptop. That was the largest purchase I have ever made. I am nervous as shit. Any way to get over that?
Watch videos of UPS drivers throwing boxes around.
Should I wait for black friday/cyber monday to buy a new hdd?
Yeah, 2.4 GHz is usually better unless you keep your microwave cooking 24/7. But dual-band is obviously the best.
Can someone sum up dual band for me. I see that you'd use 5ghz for some devices and 2.4 for others. But people keep bringing up enhanced file transfers because you'd be using 2.4 and 5ghz bands. But how do I do that. My new Asus motherboard supports "Dual Band" And I can run on 2.4ghz bands for 144mbps and 5ghz for 300mbps. Is 300mbps the norm for 5ghz or is that using both.
Anyone else having massive mouse lag when using Chrome? It happens to me only in chrome and nothing else and it's bugging the shit out of me.

It's usually FedEx that does that
UPS (at least here) is pretty good about it
Hey, I'm planning to upgrade my video card. This is my current setup right now:

I plan to get another 560 ( Newegg Link ) and get an SLI rig going. Is this a good plan, or should I consider something else? I have a 700w Coolermaster PSU by the way.
Anybody have a suggestion for a good prebuilt PC? My cousins need a new computer to do basic things like Quicken and internet browsing. Doesn't need to be fancy, just needs to be not shit.
My computer is a prebuilt with a AMD Phenom II X2 511 with 5gb ram and I was wondering what would be the best graphics card that wouldn't be bottlenecked and still be good for gaming?
I can play all the games I own just fine on medium, but I want to be able to run them on high/at native resolution :v:

Don't worry so much about bottlenecks - EVERY system is going to have a bottleneck somewhere, to some degree, unless you build a system from the ground up to run a single application with zero wasted power. Quite often it's cheaper to get a card that bottlenecks than an older card that doesn't, especially with a system that old. And if you buy a good card, you can keep it when you upgrade the rest of the system later, so it's cheaper in the long run.
I'm going to suggest a GeForce 640. You'll probably bottleneck it a bit, but really, any card made in the past two generations is going to be bottlenecked on a Phenom X2. The 640 is only $70 or so, and it should be able to run almost anything you throw at it (I'm running a 660M, which is essentially a 640, and I rarely have to lower any settings from maximum (and I'm running full 1080p)).
However, if you think you'll be able to upgrade the rest of your system within a year or so, I would recommend a 660 instead. That will last you much longer, and it's much more power per dollar. You won't see any difference on your current system, but plop an i5 in there and you'll see the difference.
What video card do you have now? gman's advice is good, and if you don't want to have to upgrade your PSU a low-med end new card is the way to go. I would've suggested a 77xx series though, AMD (at least used to be?) a better choice for lower cost GPU.
Can you get a good laptop on a thousand dollar budget?
(Good: able to run image and video software for long periods of time / decent build quality & battery life)
Yes, you can. Check out Sager if you want to custom build your own. My dad just bought a Sony Vaio from Fry's Electronics for $949 and it's fantastic. Runs decently, he's happily editing away photos with no delay.
But you're not from the US, right? So I have no idea where you could go to get it.
Here's the laptop in question: http://www.frys.com/product/7340324?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

The build quality of it is fantastic, really sleek looking, it's not flimsy. Feels strong and sturdy, dad is really happy with it. Really huge, but light. Nice big 17.3" screen, would make movie-watching really enjoyable. It can handle a bit of gaming, as well. Nothing too excessive, of course. Really great overall though.
It's big though, so it's not exactly mobile, unless you don't mind carrying around a really large laptop (it's thin, just very long and wide).
In the audio settings in windows how does the sampling rate work? Is there any reason not to set it to max?

There's no reason TO set it to max, really.
Where can I find the old "Fences" version that was free? Now you only get a 30 day trial and after that you have to purchase it.
