Anyone know if there's a good guide on replacing intel push pins with some type of nut/bolt or something? I really hate push pins and they never work the first time for me, so I end up wasting paste or causing tons of bubbles as i keep fixing the stupid pieces of crap that should die.
Can anyone recommend a good, not too expensive cpu fan? I want to overclock my Intel E6550. I could buy a new cpu and mobo but I'd rather spend the money on other things.

I don't believe it's successor, the Hyper 212 EVO, is though.
Did you accidentally a link?

Anyone know how to fix Firefox having flash stuttering issues? Like when I play a flash game? inb4 "Switch to Chrome"
Anyone know how to fix Firefox having flash stuttering issues? Like when I play a flash game? inb4 "Switch to Chrome"
sorry, Flash is too shitty to do any particular fixing best you can do is hope it goes away at some point
You can try removing and reinstalling. Bar that, pretty much nothing you can do, other than switching to Chrome for their tweaked version of flash.
Anyone know how to fix Firefox having flash stuttering issues? Like when I play a flash game? inb4 "Switch to Chrome"
I had that issue recently. Make sure your flash is up to date. I updated mine and it fixed my problems [editline]19th November 2012[/editline]
recently steam has been annoying as fuck, everytime i leave my pc for like 5-10 minutes it will freeze up and take like a little less than half a gig of ram up, and wont respond until i end the process. i dont really want to reinstall it since i have over 50 games installed, but if there is no other option i guess ill do it
You can keep your games and reinstall steam. You go to your steam folder and delete everything but your steamapps folder and steam.exe, then run steam.exe and the client will redownload.
I ran a HUGE scan on my computer. Took 12-13 hours to complete. No, i cant right click > run as administrator. What is a boot-time scan?
Depending on the specs of your machine, a longer scan isn't necessarily better. Boot-time scan is where your AV stops your computer just before Windows gets going, and scans everything. This doesn't give viruses a chance to start up and you're more likely to catch elusive ones.
Here's one for ya's. I connect to the router via a USB Wireless Dongle that I purchased about 5 years ago (one of the best) and have used that ever since. It's always sat on top of the desk beside the keyboard connected to a USB cable extender that came with it. Still following me? Good! Yesterday, I decided that I wanted to change things around and I removed the USB extender from the equation and put the Wireless Dongle into the back of the computer. Windows was showing that I had a full signal to the router but...it started to load pages really really slowly, I couldn't even connect to the router page. I moved the dongle about 30cm back from where it was originally. I rebooted the computer a few times to see if Windows was just messing with me, but nope it didn't. Any help would be appreciated. Just found a link to the product page of the Wireless Dongle
Seems related.
And my motherboards USB ports aren't? Course they are! I think I will just revert too the original way of the setup. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Amirite?
And my motherboards USB ports aren't? Course they are! I think I will just revert too the original way of the setup.
I mean if it's the only thing you changed, what else could it possibly be. I'm sure your motherboard has 2.0 or later ports, but that's pretty much the only thing to check if you wanted to keep it that way. Especially if the cable came with it, I'm assuming it's there for a reason.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Amirite?
Anyway, yeah, I agree with you here.
Need some help here. I need to use || for programming but my new laptop doesn't have the key that is usually beside the z button that has the | on it. What can I do? Anyway to set it up?
I'm upgrading my computer and have the choice of either getting a 660ti and a 64gb SSD, or a 670 alone. Are the 670's advantages over the 660ti worth the price hike or would the money be better spent on an SSD?

Anyway to set it up?
It should be near the backspace key. The other key near the z is an abomination of keyboard design.
If it's meant to be the button that goes along with the backspace then it's below the backspace key but when I press it, I get # printing out. I tried all the keys on the keyboard and none of them print out the button I need. [editline]19th November 2012[/editline] It works when I put the keyboard the United States setting but the one for Ireland doesn't seem to work
| here, Ctrl +C Ctrl +V [editline]19th November 2012[/editline] Or hot-key it.
Copy and pasting isn't really a viable option for a programmer, it's effort.

Program with a US keyboard layout.
It works when I put the keyboard the United States setting but the one for Ireland doesn't seem to work
Well there's your problem. You can't exactly change the way an Irish keyboard works :v:
Well yeah but usually the button would be reassigned else where, just thought this would have hot key in some weird place. Just I've been programming on my desktop with the Irish keyboard layout and I'm used to it. Oh well I'll just use American
So this is kind of awkward, but last year when I last upgraded my PC a bit, I added in a Hyper Cooler 212 to overclock my i5 2500k. Now here I am, a year later and I want to try it out. I've tried looking for good guides, but I've never found one that helps out a complete beginner to overclocking. Is it as simple as just changing the CPU core speeds, or will I have to mess around with voltages and such? (BTW, I'm using the one of the ASUS P8z68 series, so the Bios seem to be pretty tidy.) Thanks for any responses!
Any recommendations for USB 3 hubs that don't have shitty power adapters?

The bit with 40 in it. 42 (my setting) would result in 4.2ghz
