The difference isn't that big. I would rather go for a SSD
The extra memory bus width of the 670 would be worth it imo.
So i think my graphics card is artifacting, just need a few opinions to know if its hardware related or not. In game its a bit more jagged, in the picture it turns into these weird mark things. I tried out a few other games, happens in EP2 and related mods. i think it happens in skyrim too.
I'm thinking about buying the Extreme4 and a new case as the motherboard is $30 off right now and I'd be getting it later anyways. If I put in a new motherboard, will I have to reinstall Windows 7? [editline]19th November 2012[/editline] Also, I'm really fucking torn between these two, help http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146084 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139018 If I can't settle I'm just saying fuck it and getting a Source 210
What's the best way to sync files to a network share? I'm using Offline Files right now, though it likes to decide that the entire share is offline and prevent me from accessing anything...
Assuming you are using Windows 8? Windows inbuilt backup works fine, otherwise there are other software alternatives.
Assuming you are using Windows 8? Windows inbuilt backup works fine, otherwise there are other software alternatives.
He wants to sync files, not back them up. (Windows backup puts everything in VHD or ZIP files). I've always rather enjoyed SyncToy: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15155 Not sure if it works on Windows 8 (I don't see why it wouldn't though, really).
Oh right sorry, bad reading. I can vouch for SyncToy, I've used it a few times.
hi, i've got two ati radeon 5800s in my machine and one of the cards' fans started making the most godawful noise, and it's been giving me a huge headache. i need to know the best way to just turn that specific card off, i'd rather run with one card than go through the trouble of replacing it or working on it myself. should i just unplug it or is there a better solution that i can do from BIOS or something?
Pull it out.
I currently have a 1200W PSU which is quite overkill, how far can I downgrade? I have an OCed i7 950 and 2x670 OCed.
I currently have a 1200W PSU which is quite overkill, how far can I downgrade? I have an OCed i7 950 and 2x670 OCed.
~700 watts should be plenty.. Two 680s,
At Idle I was drawing 161 watts Full on GPUs was 422 Watts Full on CPU & GPUs 537 watts I'm running a mildly OCed I7-950 (3.7K) on an EVGA X58 FTW with one 5400 rpm HD, two SSDs, a BD-rom/DVD, 5 case fans, 16 gigs ram and a Hyper 212+ off an Antec EA-750

I currently have a 1200W PSU which is quite overkill, how far can I downgrade? I have an OCed i7 950 and 2x670 OCed.
You could probably go down to ~600-700, but there's no reason to as long as your current one works.
Pull it out.
thank you!
I currently have a 1200W PSU which is quite overkill, how far can I downgrade? I have an OCed i7 950 and 2x670 OCed.
I see no reason to downgrade unless its extremely inefficient.

Turns out it still fits. [editline]20th November 2012[/editline] Sorry about the double post.
What's the news on ATI radeon drivers and windows 8? I can't play any of my games that require OpenGL.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007Y8DJEA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A2VU5XNU0II1PH How good is this for playing 1080p video?
Well the reviews say 1080p works, so I'd go with "good enough"
What's the news on ATI radeon drivers and windows 8? I can't play any of my games that require OpenGL.
Isn't this still an issue in 7 as well? I know it's a huge pain with switchable graphics on laptops.
Just change the multiplier. The bit with 40 in it. 42 (my setting) would result in 4.2ghz
Sorry for the late reply, thanks a lot mang. I'll be trying this out tonight. Thanks again!

Anyone know the best place to buy a domain name?
Anyone know the best place to buy a domain name?
http://www.google.com/enterprise/apps/business/ Stick with the free Apps package. Domain registration is $10/year.
Steam is now randomly using 30% cpu (3.2 quad core) at all times and I have no fucking clue why.
See if you can reproduce what causes it to start doing that from a fresh steam restart, and then email your findings to johnc at valvesoftware dot com (at least that's who responded to my steam bug reports when I emailed them to gabe) and he'll tell you if they do/didn't know about the bug and will fix it in the next update.
I was looking at these specs and benchmarks for the ADM A10-5800K, and it underperforms the i5-2500k even though it has much faster clock speeds. What makes the 2500k outperform the A10-5800K despite the faster clock speeds?
