I put in a new motherboard but i'm not done setting it up, I just got a question if I'll have sound. My old motherboard had like integrated graphics and sound and I'm not sure if i will have sound since i don't have a sound card

Integrated video would be the bigger concern.
I'm currently working in a PC-repair store and got an ASUS GTX 260 for almost free. I currently have a Club3D HD 4850 512 factory overclocked edition installed, and I was wondering if the 260 is enough of an upgrade to bother with swapping the cards and reinstalling drivers. My 4850 has DX 10.1 while the 260 has 10.0. Other specs: AMD X2 6000+ (3.0Ghz), 4GB DDR2 RAM Is it worth it to upgrade or should I just sell the card to a friend for small profit?

I bought an MSI Radeon 7770 HD GHz from Microcenter and I was supposed to come with Far Cry 3, however it shipped to my house a day before FC3 was released so I'm not too sure what to do. I emailed their support a while ago but got nothing back yet. should I call? First gaming pc in 6 yrs I want my far cry!

it has nothing to do with game disks, it comes with a piece of paper with a code
it has nothing to do with game disks, it comes with a piece of paper with a code
Yeah I assumed I would get just a code to redeem it on steam or something but I didn't receive one. Unless it's very well hidden or some shit. Just hoping they don't tell me I'm shit outta luck
If they say anything like that just say you want to return it (or want a replacement) because it didn't come with everything as advertised.
So I just installed my Samsung 840 and I think it's okay. It wasn't showing up in My Computer but it was in the disk manager so I made a partition on it and formatted it and now it's in My Computer so I presume its working. Anyway, I'm running Windows 8 off my HDD, it is a version I downloaded from my College as we get a free copy of it. It isn't an ISO version it's just one that you can click on setup and enter in the cd key and all. I was wondering how can I go about installing this onto my SSD?

So download the ISO, burn it to a disc and just run it and select it in the BIOS? Do I then select the SSD or do I have to make the SSD boot first or what? Are they any other things I should change when setting it up with an SSD? Sort of confused about it all. Cheers mango
Yes, precisely. Install, and if it doesn't bring you in to the Windows bootloader than change the boot order.
I suggest making sure that the SSD is in the FIRST SATA port on your motherboard, usually labeled SATA 0. This is because Windows is idiotic and will put the bootloader on the first HDD, and you want it to be on the same HDD as the Windows install. Then make it first boot priority, put the Windows 8 disc in and press F11 or F12 or whatever button it is to select the boot device on your motherboard, choose the DVD drive, and i think you got it from here. [editline]5th December 2012[/editline] also make sure your BIOS has AHCI (or RAID if you plan on using RAID or Intel's SSD cache thing in the future) mode enabled, should be under HDD options or something like that.

[del]What's a good cheap PC Adapter for a wireless Xbox 360 controller. I ask because it's the only wireless controller I have and I'm getting an HDMI TV and a cable for Steam's Big Picture Mode.[/del] Nevermind I found one thanks to a mate.

Okay so I picked this processor: Is it good or is there anything that's not as great with it?

Thanks for the help guys. Should I enable AHCI mode before I install the OS to the SSD?
You can't overclock it very well.
I wasn't really planning to and the only 3770K available in the store I'm looking at is quite a bit more expensive and is a bit slower, so that seems like a better choice.

It's missing the -k at the end of the name. I don't know how well those normally overclock, but I know the last gen of i5/i7 overclocked really well. You could easily get over 1Ghz extra by overclocking, which gives a pretty big performance increase.
