I want to be able to run newer games. I'll also need to buy a new power supply. I currently have a Radeon 6570 HD 1gb.
What is the best program to use for tracking network bandwidth.
What is the best program to use for tracking network bandwidth.
You'll need to upgrade the firmware on your router, I'm pretty sure. DD-WRT and Tomato are the most popular.
Why would I sorry?
Because the custom firmware has the tools you'll need to monitor network traffic/bandwidth used per device.
A good monitor at 1080p at about 350$. Doable? Any recommendations? Don't care one single bit for 120Hz.

how do i make my pc not restart by itself for updating? seriously what dumbass thought it was a good idea to have the machine tell me what to do
anybody with dual monitors have this problem? i just got a new monitor, both 23 inchers except the newer one is led. With the older one hooked up as well, windows open and close smoothly, but in the new monitor its very delayed and slow. i can them sort of shutter. help?
on a more serious note, i just noticed something when my computer was restarting, the brightness and whatnot looked normal for about 2 seconds then suddenly the entire screen darkened, so it must be a program of some sort doing it right? well i went through any running processes but there's nothing running that could do that, so it must be a windows thing? i probably messed with a setting and forgot that i did it, anyone know what could be causing it?
Is the refresh rate set to at least 60Hz?
it is, the problem still persists though
how do i make my pc not restart by itself for updating? seriously what dumbass thought it was a good idea to have the machine tell me what to do
the only way is to tell Windows Update to only download updates, and install them when you tell it to but it's supposed to make a big noise about it when there are updates downloaded so
I just changed my motherboard, I didn't wanna reinstall windows so I just did this: http://www.dowdandassociates.com/content/howto-repair-windows-7%E2%84%A2-install-after-replacing-motherboard Now, Windows 7 seems to have started fine, everything appears to be working, but I'm worried that some driver or some part might still not be set up properly or working that isn't just visible right now, is there any way to run some kinda check if everything's set up properly?
I'm using a D-Link DSL-2740B which uses a Broadcom 6328 chipset. I'm wondering if Tomato will work on it. I couldn't find it in any official list of supported routers, but perhaps it just depends on the chipset?
Is a sequential read of 85 MB/s on a 7200RPM hdd normal?
Approximately, yes.
Is there a way to check the version of USB ports? Like a little program I copy to a flash drive and then plug thati into some ports and it tells me which version they are or something
Thinking of trying to convince my parents to change ISP because the internet here is absolutely motherfucking crippling. On a good day with perfect conditions it goes at 200kb/s. What should I look at with regards to choosing a new ISP? Does my location matter (we live in the middle of fucking nowhere)? [editline]21st December 2012[/editline] Ehhh. Just checked virginmedia, I can't get fibre optic broadband with them, at least.
Is a sequential read of 85 MB/s on a 7200RPM hdd normal?
It depends. Density of the disks is a major concern. My 3TB 7200RPM drive is twice that.
What is the best way to safely transport a computer 1.5 hours via car? Ordinarily I lodge the tower in the ground space between the back seat and the front, but I'm not so sure how efficient that is considering my computer suffered a hard drive failure last year.
Put it in the trunk.
Anywhere specific? I mean I understand that it's best to lay it on the side the motherboard's laying on, but should I put down, say, a thick towel underneath it to try and dampen any vibrations?
Is there a way to check the version of USB ports? Like a little program I copy to a flash drive and then plug thati into some ports and it tells me which version they are or something
Well, if you plug most smartphones into a 1.1 port, Windows will give you that "This device can perform faster" box. Usually though if one port is a 2.0, they all are (unless you have a couple of 3.0 ports, which are ID'd by the blue plastic inside the port).
So, bought a can of compressed air, and I'm gonna clean my computer with it. It's content is of 350 ml, so it will not last much I guess. Any tips that I should have in mind before doing it?
I got a 360 controller and I want some drivers for it that will let me set rumble and stuff like that. The default driver is sort of crap and I'm not even sure if it does anything.
So I am planning a upgrade to my pc after xmas, I was just going to clarify if these parts work together: Kingston DDR3 HyperX Beast 8GB http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=768781 Intel® Core i7-3770K Processor http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=660225#extra ASUS P8Z77-V PRO/Thunderbolt,Socket-1155 http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=755311
