but they SHOULD, it makes things so much easier. Screw those little cables that are lodged in between the GPU and your case.

get a better shielded VGA cable, or make sure it's not loose so that the shield is properly grounded
I'm kind of reluctant to buy a new cable until I've determined that the cable is the problem.
Do you know as to why nothing will display when I plug the VGA in to the port on the mobo?
because you have a GPU installed and you have the feature off in the UEFI probably
My computer hasn't been able to access my USB Drive, it can be from other PCs so it may just be Windows 8 messing about. Yes I've tried it in numerous USB slots and still the same. However, it can be seen by Drive Management but I just can't do anything it just comes up with this message:

You are a hero, hit me up with your paypal if you want some Station Cash for Planetside 2.
Alright, tried a new cable, same problem. I googled the problem and it appears a ton of other people are having it with Radeon HD 7000 series, and it was only fixed by using HDMI/DVI monitors.
Thanks anyway, looks like I'm gonna have to replace the monitor with a TV.

Just got it, fucking awesome! Happy holidays CF!
My computer makes weird beeps, usually when war thunder game game is loading a server. Its a monotone that comes from inside the computer, but it's very irregular and you cannot distinguish an error code out of it.
E: what the hell, now the beep is continuous while playing. It stops or becomes random when I minimize war thunder.

Coil whine or caps is my best guess.

Isn't coil whine kinda random white nose, not a single frequency monotonic beep?

"beep" is a pretty generic idea. Any way you could record it for us?

It sounds like an ordinary sawtooth error beep you get with a faulty memory during boot.

The breaks occur when I minimize the game. The game itself runs fine though. Temps should be okay too.
Haven't seen any recent motherboards come with those.
Oh, sorry I must be mistaken. The last three motherboards I've bought came with them so I assumed they were standard now.
Manufacturers really should include them though; it's so much easier to keep all your front-panel cables on one labeled unit.
I just ordered a 660 Ti, coming from a 5870. I will still be able to use my 3 monitors with one card right? (only gaming on one, using 2 DVI ports and one displayport).

A single 660 can handle up to four screens afaik.
Your motherboard, if it's new, should have came with something like these (not sure what they're called, for sakes of clarity I'll call them Jigs):

They are meant to make connecting your front panel shit a whole lot easier, just match up the names on the front-panel wires to the names on the white Jig and stick them on the corresponding Jig pins.
Then stick the whole Jig onto your motherboard's front panel connections (rather than referencing your manual for each pin).

(Note: This photo is just what the motherboard's front panel connection place looks like, a Jig is not included)
Don't worry much about them being wrong, you can easily fiddle with them till everything works correctly.
I have an asrock Z77 Extreme 4. I don't see any of the jigs.

So you know when your listening to music or whatever, and your computer suddenly freezes and the audio loops like 10-100ms of what was played for a split second? Yeah, for some reason my computer has been doing that very frequently since yesterday. I haven't installed anything since a week ago, updated any drivers, or anything. Anybody have any ideas?

These only come with ASUS motherboards AFAIK. I got one and I only used it as a reference guide because it's ugly as hell. Also why the hell do they make a USB 2.0 Q connector? Is it really THAT hard to plug in a USB that only goes one way?

keep resource monitor open, when it happens tab over to it and see what spikes
I'm confused by my motherboard and case manuals. I'm trying to connect the front pannel stuff to my motherboard. Are there easy to read diagrams on this?
Bra check your motherboard manual
It should have a diagram like this:

So I got a new monitor and now using duel set up with my old one so i can have apps open on it while I game.
I know you use the mouse and scroll over to the next screen, but how do i disable that. So when I play games i can't mistakenly switch to the other screen when aiming, etc. I would much rather just use a hotkey to switch over to a monitor.
