make sure the boot order is set to the HDD with Win7 on it
When the drive is not connected the Windows drive is on top of the boot list, I cannot check that though when the samsung drive is plugged in because then it hangs before it gets to the BIOS.
Anyone know how to fix this so I get the allow/deny prompt again?
Go under Windows Firewall and change it?
Go under Windows Firewall and change it?
No options for it in the control panel. I've reset the firewall and it's policy's to default. This setting is elsewhere; most likely a group policy. But I cannot find it.

Secondly: [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/NuIKY.png[/img_thumb] Not sure if you can just pick allow connection, or you should just remove the rule in the side bar.
Ah yes, that's the profile page.. But he asked for the prompt =P
Yes. I don't want to allow it, I want the prompt to have the option to allow it again. I cannot find the setting for it. I've: Deleted the local policy for the firewall Reset the firewall to default settings It's in another location, most likely in the group policies. I could not care less whether or not Skype is allowed. My firewall prompts need to look like this again:
would you guys say this is a good gaming budget laptop http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834310630
What do you plan on playing on it?
What do you plan on playing on it?
well not really big budget games but at most some unreal engine ones [editline]28th December 2012[/editline] i don't think it will run it well but maybe planetside 2
http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-635M.66964.0.html Found some benchmarks on the gpu. This should be able to give you an idea of what to exepct, note that they'rep laying games at 1280x720 and they're using a quad-core i7 instead on an i5. What's your budget? You'll be better off building a mid-range desktop if you don't have on already.

You should aim for something better tbh, what's the max amount you can spend on a laptop?
You should aim for something better tbh, what's the max amount you can spend on a laptop?
well my old limit was actually lower but i bumped it up to that price so i can't really get anything spectacular. that was the best i could find for $600. i don't think i can go to $700 though. that might be pushing it
If that's the best you can do then get it. I don't see anything wrong with it except for the somewhat underpowered gpu, just don't expect it to play newer games.
Why can't i install things using FileSmelt?, the page with the link is there but whenever i actually click the link it just refreshes the page.
Why can't i install things using FileSmelt?, the page with the link is there but whenever i actually click the link it just refreshes the page.
What do you mean by 'install from firefox'?
keep resource monitor open, when it happens tab over to it and see what spikes
Absolutely nothing at all. No abnormal spikes, no abnormal drops, nothing. [editline]28th December 2012[/editline] Its also appears to be increasing in frequency and lasting much more longer sometimes.
Somebody teach me about mics, and the things I need to go with them. What do I need, what does it do, and which is the best. Something about a DAC and pre amp?
What are you trying to achieve?
Somebody teach me about mics, and the things I need to go with them. What do I need, what does it do, and which is the best. Something about a DAC and pre amp?
DAC isn't involved in recording. Pre-amp takes a signal from a microphone and basically makes it loud enough for your system / recording program to understand. You don't need a pre-amp as such, any recording interface will come with a passable one - it's once you're spending lots of money looking for the best quality possible you should get a dedicated one.
I have $50 to spend on upgrades for my computer. I wanted to get the Hyper 212 Evo and 4Gb (2 x 2Gb) of 1600 MHz ram but I don't have enough for both. Which should I get? Here are my specs: [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/13781308/Speccy.png[/t] I only have the stock heatsink.

I meant that in a funny way, he did pin-point the same options, just not as a UAC prompt. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/EfHxY.png[/img_thumb] Just because it doesn't look like it. Doesn't mean it's not the same. Just FYI, Privat = Private - Offentlig = Public
I'd go with RAM unless you plan on overclocking that i5.
Is mixing different RAM brands bad? I have some Wintec ram that isn't really sold anywhere anymore (this might be it, not sure but it looks the same). If I got a different brand at a faster speed (1600 MHz) would that be bad? Should I get 4gb more and add that in my system or buy 8gb and get rid of the Wintec?

I'm gonna ask here because of uncertainty. My MSI uses BTY-M66 batteries, and apparently there are a couple of Asus laptop models that use the same. I was going to ask if I could use a 9 cell Asus battery with my MSi GT-640 without any trouble? The current battery in it is dead.
Speedfan says my GPU's temps are at -999°C, is it more likely that it's a bug in speedfan or a hardware error?
Hello everyone, I am looking to upgrade from my old 5770. What is a nice card I could get with a budget of $150? I'd like to play BF3 on Ultra, my res is only 1366x768, so would it be possible with this budget?
What's the difference between these two processors? Which one should I get if I want the best possible power out of an i7? £199.40 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel-core-i7-2700k-s-1155-sandy-bridge-quad-core-35ghz-8mb-cache-hd-3000-igp-850mhz-95w-retail £215.00 http://www.scan.co.uk/products/intel-core-i7-2600s-s1155-sandy-bridge-quad-28ghz-hd2000-igp-850mhz-8mb-cache-65w-oem The first one looks better than the second, but makes me wonder why it's less expensive.
