My 200mm fan started making a click noise and it looks as if it is swaying. Should I be worried? My brother have the same case (Corsair 650D) and his 200mm popped off one day inside the PC. I don't want that shit to happen. It's the one on top.
Hot glue it to the case?
Hi guys, just got a new laptop with an SSD with OS installed and a 750GB HDD data drive. Is it possible for me to somehow store items on the desktop into the data drive instead of the OS SSD?

I'm worried if the whole fan will spin out from the holder of the fan...
Thanks, I was wondering if there is some way to change the default installation of programs to D:/Program Files instead of C:/Program Files
I literally googled this and this came first: http://en.kioskea.net/faq/1328-change-the-default-installation-folder-c-program-files Follow the instructions and it should work So, Regedit -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion -> In the right window double click ProgramFilesDir and change "C:\Program Files" to "D:\Program Files" I've not tried this myself but I'm pretty sure it should work.
would like to spend something around 200 €, or less, on a smartphone: any suggestions?
What do you guys think of Fortron PSU-s? Are they as good as corsair or ocz? Shouldn't blow up at advertised wattage etc.? Somebody on another forum isn't quite for them but Google answers me as they are quality psu-s.
http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/motherboardbundles/mbb-5502a.html I've been thinking of getting this as a fairly cheap replacement but will my GTS 450 work with it? It says it only has a PCI-E 2.0 1x but I don't know if the card'll work with it.

So it looks like my HD 5770 has finally bitten the dust. What's a good replacement below £60 second hand or new? I don't really play games on my PC so I'm not really bothered about high performance anymore but I'd still like an equal card. Preferably an AMD card since all the drivers are already installed. Cheers!
What happened to the 5770? [editline]30th December 2012[/editline] And I don't think there's anything as powerful as a 5770 for 60 or less, new. [editline]30th December 2012[/editline] You might get lucky and find a new 7750 for 60, they're just a little more than it. I only checked Scan. If you're a part of other forums (SA, overclockers, whatever) I'd check there. SA Mart has tons of good deals on GPUs all the time, though it's usually just from US sellers.
I'm running windows 7 32 bit, and have 8 gigs of ram. I know I'm bottle necked to 3.8(.2 for the OS), but is it down right impossible to have those other 4 running?
Why are you on 32 bit anyway install 64 bit
Why are you on 32 bit anyway install 64 bit
Once again I have to repeat the obvious. I would if I could, but I lack the money and a CD drive(different story another day) to do so.
What advantages does the 64 bit version of an OS have above the 32 bit version, anyway? Besides the possible higher amount of memory, I mean.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7_editions the magic of the internet
except that doesn't say anything about the difference between x32(86?)and x64 versions Literally the only difference is that an x64 version takes advantage of an x64 processor and can support up to 192GB RAM (as opposed to 4 on 32-bit versions) Also some other stuff, only thing I could find was a vista-related page
Advantages when you install a 64-bit version of Windows Vista -Increased memory support beyond that of the 4-GB addressable memory space that is available in a 32-bit operating system -Increased program performance for programs that are written to take advantage of a 64-bit operating system -Enhanced security features
internet magic isn't the most reliable magic i guess
Using the 64-bit version of an OS has the following advantages: * 64-bit programs are supported. While this usually results in slightly larger executable files (due to using 8-byte pointers instead of 4-byte), 64-bit programs can use the larger and more numerous 64-bit registers. In many cases, this improves performance, often considerably. * 64-bit programs can access over 4GB of memory. Even with PAE (a feature from the Pentium Pro used by most Linux distros, OS X, and optionally by some versions of Windows), an application can only use 4GB, even though the OS can handle more. * 64-bit programs also work better with Address Space Layout Randomization, a security feature. It works by basically jumbling up the memory space of a program, which can almost completely block many common exploits. While this is possible in 32-bit, it works better in 64-bit simply because there is much more room to scatter things around in. * 64-bit programs can also assume the existence of certain features that *every* x86-64 processor is required to support. * Processors running in 64-bit mode also disable certain extremely old 16-bit features, which can also speed things up slightly.

Sadly I need all 8 at the same time to run, and not just limit 4 to one process in particular. It seems planetside 2 won't be in my future for now.
I've been getting a lot of blue screens here lately after installing my new 7970. I've noticed that my hardware is at the following temps when I load back up. (I5 2500k reads at 28C, 7970 reads at 40c) or could it because I'm not getting enough power to the hardware... I got a 850W (very old psu, was good quality at the time.., got it ages ago for an original Q6600, 8800GT build). Current specs ASUS P8P67 Deluxe I5 2500k stock 3.30ghz, but it does turbo under a heavy load to 4.0ghz. Has Evo cooler on it. Sapphire 7970 2 HDDs 5 fans my case is a fractal design mid-tower. I don't really know what the deal is, it is cooling or just not enough power..
