I want to disable my touchpad on my laptop. There's a keyboard shortcut, but it doesn't work in Windows 8 (I'm in dual boot with 8 and 7), and the laptop's company hasn't released any new drivers for windows 8. When I go into Control Panel > Mouse and find the checkbox to disable it, it's greyed out and won't let me disable it. Is there another way I can turn it off? EDIT: Just took another look at the Lenovo website, found the new drivers. nevermind.
Also all drivers have been updated. Hate to do this, but I have not yet got any help...
We can't do much unless you give us the stop code. Test the RAM? What is the temp during full load? Faulty drivers? Unstable turbo OC?
most of the time when i start up my computer, i get a weird noise from my cpu fan that can only be described as a muffled blender. I have checked for dust bunnies, and cabled, and that never happens, and it fixes itself when i restart my computer. could it be faulty bearings/lube is going dry?
Currently in a computer I've got two 500gb drives in RAID 0. I plan to take them out, put in a new 2TB drive (and hopefully also an SSD). I want to transfer most of the data over from the old raid to the new drive. But I want to install Windows on the SSD, for obvious reasons. Is there a cheap external enclosure to put raid 0 drives in, so I could copy my data over? Or should I just install all the drives I want to transfer the data to/from and then take out the old ones?
Does anyone know a good Backup tool that can use NASs and where I can just select every folder I want backed up and it merges overlapping stuff by itself?
Is 49,99 € a fair price for the SDD I mentioned before, Sandisk SSD 64 GB?
Is 49,99 € a fair price for the SDD I mentioned before, Sandisk SSD 64 GB?
That's pretty cheap compared to where I live.
Hello everyone, I am looking to upgrade from my old 5770. What is a nice card I could get with a budget of $150? I'd like to play BF3 on Ultra, my res is only 1366x768, so would it be possible with this budget?
Just gonna repost this since its been a couple days
Just gonna repost this since its been a couple days
I think a GTX 650 TI probably would be best.
We can't do much unless you give us the stop code. Test the RAM? What is the temp during full load? Faulty drivers? Unstable turbo OC?
I'll grab the stop code next time. It is kinda weird due to the fact sometimes i don't get a blue-screen for a day or two then out of the blue I'll get one or two in a day.
I think a GTX 650 TI probably would be best.
Assuming that I only use 1366x768, this will do what I want right? Looking up some benchmarks it somewhat looks like it'll do the trick also does brand matter much?(asus, evga, etc)
Do Sapphire give a two year warranty on their GPU's?
Do Sapphire give a two year warranty on their GPU's?
You would essentially have a warranty anyway since you are in the uk. [SUB]Some law regarding goods must last a reasonable amount of time afaik.[/SUB]
Just found out I ordered my 5770 on the 9th Jan so that gives me 8 days of warranty! Go go go
Eu has 1 year warranty where the seller has to proof that the issue DIDNT exist at sale (like bad craftmansship) then its a year where the buyer has to proof that it was a device failure and not his error. Usually the second year is handled the same. Most manufacturers just give 2 year warranty anyway so people who dont know their rights can get worse warranty.

If it's an item that is expected to last longer than 2 years, it can still go over to warranty repairs if the repair costs are significant and the consumer has used the product according to the instructions. Not sure if that law comes from EU consumer protection laws.
If I plug my radeon hd 6850 to my TV with an hdmi-hdmi, does it transfer sound also?

Why do i have black borders when running games at native resolution?
Why would it not its hdmi to hdmi so where would it get lost theres no conversion?!
because hdmi can carry only video (if you want) and i figured since it's coming from a gpu, there's no sound there
because hdmi can carry only video (if you want) and i figured since it's coming from a gpu, there's no sound there
The gpu can relay the sound though.
We can't do much unless you give us the stop code. Test the RAM? What is the temp during full load? Faulty drivers? Unstable turbo OC?
I did a memory test, all was fine. Playing video games again and got a blue-screen today. BCCode: 4e BCP1: 0000000000000099 BCP2: 0000000000035063 BCP3: 0000000000000002 BCP4: 0000000000035061
The gpu can relay the sound though.
Indeed, if you look at the audio options in Windows, you can usually find some sort of device there with HDMI in the name.
How do I go about using all the RAM I've installed? Currently sitting on 8 GB of RAM, but only 4 GB is running while the other stick's 4 GB total is shown as "Hardware Reserved."

I actually made a cool little app that will instantly tell you: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1439918/appgaloress/detectarch.exe Just run it and a message box will pop up with X64 or X86
I hope you are on 64bit. win+r msconfig. there is a setting for it somewhere, poke around a little bit.
Went into BOOT Advanced Options, checked "Maximum Memory" (where it showed me at 8192) and hit applied, now I just have to restart and see what happens.
