Why do i have black borders when running games at native resolution?
Disable underscan / enable overscan in your GPU options
Went into BOOT Advanced Options, checked "Maximum Memory" (where it showed me at 8192) and hit applied, now I just have to restart and see what happens.
Didn't work.
I actually made a cool little app that will instantly tell you: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1439918/appgaloress/detectarch.exe
Just run it and a message box will pop up with X64 or X86
Says I'm on X86, which means 32-bit...
I hope you are on 64bit.
win+r msconfig. there is a setting for it somewhere, poke around a little bit.
... Which probably means it's because of my OS?
How the fuck are people still on 32-bit operating systems
What the fuck
Says I'm on X86, which means 32-bit...
Then you need to reinstall your OS as 64bit. Why would you even use 32-bit anymore
Does the company "Gigabyte" live up to the name "Gigashit?"

literally never heard of that nickname, and no, the only GPU manufacturer I personally dislike is powercolor, gigabyte makes some decent cheap nonreference coolers, I think.
Planning on buying an external HDD, preferably 500GB. Any recommendations for places/brands to buy in the UK?
Western Digital make sexy passport drives.
Anyone have any experiences with the msi 7870 HAWK?
Benchmarks show its the best 7870 card out there but I'm wondering about its build quality.

Well yeah, you are on 32bit. 32bit can't use more than 4GB of RAM.
BUT!, windows has that PAE thing. Allowing 32bit OS to use more than 4GB of RAM.
I don't know if it works with 7, but there is a vista tutorial.

Anybody know of a good music playlist app that comes with an in-app overlay? I tried foobar and it didn't have an overlay.
My 200mm fan started making a click noise and it looks as if it is swaying. Should I be worried?
My brother have the same case (Corsair 650D) and his 200mm popped off one day inside the PC. I don't want that shit to happen.

It's the one on top.
So I spoke to my brother and he confirmed that he experienced the same sounds until a week later it popped off inside the computer (luckily it happened after he had shut down the computer to inspect the sound), so I'm thinking of buying a Cooler Master MegaFlow 200 to replace the fan.
Is that a good replacement or should I be looking for something else? The quieter, around the same budget, the better.
The MegaFlow fans are somewhat loud. I have two in my HAF X.
I also have two of the BitFenix Spectre 200m fans which are much quieter but don't push as much air. You can get the "Pro" versions of the BitFenix fans that are a bit louder than the non-"Pro" fans but push more air than the MegaFlows.

Question:
I have verzion FiOs here in New York. Any speedtest I take reveals that I have a 25/15 connection, however my downloads, both in steam and chrome are always maxed at 3.0 mb/s. Is this a hardware issue? Possibly the router?

Well ISPs usually advertise their speeds in megabits per second, and 25 Mb/s is roughly 3.125 MB/s, so everything looks fine to me.
And Speedtest also displays the results in Mb/s by default

So they advertise in a smaller unit to make it look nicer. What the fuck guys.

MB/s ≠ Mb/s

Welcome to marketting, 1TB in hard drive marketting ≠ 1TB in the real world either.
Hi guys, I've got a question:
I've got this "Packbard Bell Carbon 1TB" external hard-drive (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tV8H_40lv5g) <- not my video
I were wondering if I would be able to get it out of it's casing, so I'd have the actual hard-drive, and implent it into my PC. So that it would read/write way faster than it does through USB right now. Is this possible?

So it is essentialy a harddrive I can just put in my PC, after I get it out of its' casing?

Yep, they just buy drives and put them in an enclosure to sell onto people.
Sweet, thanks for the help!
Do any devices even accept FLAC files? My brother has a cheap MP3 player that won't accept them along with a portable speaker thing that won't take them either.

I fucking recommend
[img_thumb]http://www.asksteve.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Sansa_Clip+_Family_and_SR_Card121.jpg[/img_thumb]
SanDisk Sansa+
-Cheap
-Long battery life
-RockBox compatible (custom firmware which is open source, supports plugins, games, themes, longer battery life and more)
-MicroSD slot
-Plays FLAC
-Small and lightweight, which is great if you're doing any excessive motions.
-I find it to be pretty sturdy myself so far. Used it for nearly two years now and dropped it on the ground more than I can count without it breaking. Only scratches.

I'm sorry but a rating isn't enough to describe how much I agree. I think what I use is the sanza fuze, but the only difference appears to be size. It has been the ideal media player and mine even has a radio (which you can record from) and a microphone! I agree completely.
Also, thanks for mentioning RockBox, I've never heard of it before.
What's a decent blu-ray drive?
According to newegg reviews http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106325 doesn't last all that long.

The Sansa+ is also radio and microphone supported :D
And you're welcome. Rockbox certainly needs more publicity. The community and the project is simply awesome :)
What is the fascination with the ipod? What does it do that the sansa doesn't do as well or better for far cheaper. For one the expandable storage makes it better out of the gate, and it has the same basic controls plus FLAC support.
