No idea, you get a third?
You will have to revalidate many of them. Your desktop files will stay, but programs will dissappear. After upgrading, though, there will be a folder called Windows.old with all your old shit in it, in case you're missing something. In fact, not much dissappears after the install, unless you choose to do it clean.
Actually I think with in-place upgrades it doesn't even move shit to Windows.old. Might depend on which button you click on the installer though.
No, it does.
fuck i already have two windows.old folders what happens then
Why do you have two windows.old folders. Clean up that shit, free some space..
If you're not buying it from Newegg there's better options than ibuypower I think.
if so can someone point me in a direction of a good place to buy computers then
What program is best to put music onto an iPod without using iTunes?
Although I have never done it myself I have heard that winamp has it build in or has a plugin for it, if you don't want to winamp there's a way to do it with Foobar2000 too
No idea where to post this, so I hope this place is okay. Tomorrow I'm having one of the biggest tests in my life, and passing this makes my education fullfilled. And the task is going to be setting up a windows server 2003. So far everything is set up (hopefully) correct, making the server a domain controller, with dns, dhcp and AD. Ive made users and OA and whatnot, with permissions and restrictions. Now, my problem is, how do i check if a user can connect to the server? My only computer is a Windows Vista Home Premium, and if I've read correctly, has no support of joining a domain? Also the server is running inside VirtualBox. Can I borrow a computer, somehow make it connect to virtalbox, and then connect to the server? Sorry if there is any typos, or bad explained. Can try to explain it better if needed.
Can you not run XP Pro or 7 Pro in a VM on that Vista machine? You should be able to connect to the Virtualbox server using another machine, assuming the network settings in Virtualbox are setup right.
I want to replace the gpu fan on my old xbox with a heatsink, so does anyone know a place where to get a Zalman NB32J heatsink? It doesn't has to be the zalman one, it's just that the zalman one comes with thermal glue, since the old xbox has no holes to use screws. The only results I got so far would cost me about 20€, which is pretty much for a simple heatsink if you ask me. Edit: So far it seems, my best solution would be to find a place to get thermal glue or compound cheap and just use an old heatsink...
Just about everywhere has thermal glue stuff, pretty sure Radioshack carries it locally even.
Too bad we don't have radioshack here in germany, but a store the like. They got a 2 compound thermal glue for 12€. Also found a old heatsink, so I can save on that, it also has a small fan on top from cooler master, it's definetely better than the one microsoft built in. Just gotta see if it fits...
I think my dad already ordered it but the CX430 is better than my IED.
Can you RAID IDE HDD-s? Asking just in case. Might set up RAID0 on my friends 2x 80GB HDD-s. Mostly to have both read as a single HDD. Backup ain't a problem, he saves all his precious files on his external. And how do I RAID anyways?
Does anyone know when they're bringing out a Rampage 'V'?
when i press the left side of my headphones (panasonic htf600) against my ear something kind of pops out in there, and my sound sounds a bit muffled i can pop it back in but it'll end up popping out again right side is fine i have no idea how headphones work helo
Anyone here using Firefox Sync? How the hell do I get my tabs to be synchronized with my laptop? I want my main computer's Firefox data to be transferred to my second computer. I've paired them with each other but neither will refresh with new data. [editline]31st January 2013[/editline] wow you have to go to bookmarks and then to tabs from other devices WHY DO THEY NOT FUCKING MENTION THIS ANYWHERE ON THEIR FAQ:S?
Is Windows 7 normally a little slow? I upgraded recently, and since then I've been noticing delays. Like there's a bit of sound lag when I play a youtube video, so I have to go back to sync it up, and launching a steam game takes 1-2 minutes.
AMD Radeon HD 7750, good card, yea/nay? Price looks good, got a good impression from gameplay videos using it, but what's FP's stance? [editline]31st January 2013[/editline] I mean, either way it's a massive upgrade from my current card, but I don't want to buy it and find out there was something better for a similar pricing.

Also, I'm not sure, but I don't think there were ever any consumer motherboards that supported RAID with IDE drives. I had a RAID-capable board back in '01 with two IDE and two SATA ports, but it only supported RAID on SATA.

They still sell them. And you only need a drive controller to do hardware RAID. Many operating systems support software RAID, which is often a bit slower and uses up CPU time, but can work with any hardware. Pretty much any OS except desktop versions of Windows can do RAID 0 and RAID 1, and most can do RAID 5 or nestings like RAID 10. Only downside is that recovery can be difficult if you can't boot off a broken array.

Steam can be a bit slow sometimes.
What's a good 1080p monitor under $200?

You could try reinstalling it like Brandy mentioned. As for Steam, is this a constant thing or occasional? If it's constant, try standard cleanup shit like defrag (unless it's an SSD, PLEASE FUCK DO NOT DEFRAG AN SSD). If it's occasional, well Steam just has moments sometimes.
I accidentally created 8234 files in a folder when attempting to create multiple 7zip files. Now I cannot open the folder without it explorer freezing. Is there a solution to this problem? I just want to delete the 8250 rars. [editline]26th January 2013[/editline] Scratch that. Turns out explorer was still reading all the files. It's at 227,000 now.
Open a shell in the folder above the one that has all the files in it (shift + right click) and use that to remove the folder. I don't remember what the command is, but you should be able to find it on Google. Edit: Oh god I'm so late. Fucking Facepunch app tricked me.
