Is max 80°C a good temp for an I5-3570k @ 4.2ghz with a Corsair H60? Whilst running IntelBurnTest on maximum level.
Tried it with my 2500k @4.2Ghz, got to 81°C Max and i'm on air cooling in a warm room.
Is max 80°C a good temp for an I5-3570k @ 4.2ghz with a Corsair H60? Whilst running IntelBurnTest on maximum level.
I wouldn't want to go about 74c-ish.
Your YouTube problem is probably because Flash is shite. You could try reinstalling it like Brandy mentioned. As for Steam, is this a constant thing or occasional? If it's constant, try standard cleanup shit like defrag (unless it's an SSD, PLEASE FUCK DO NOT DEFRAG AN SSD). If it's occasional, well Steam just has moments sometimes.
It's a constant thing, and I don't know how to check if my drive is an SSD. And it's not just Youtube and Steam, it takes a while to load webpages, or open up My Documents, etc. I'm thinking of just wiping the drive of everything but Windows 7 and starting fresh. Can anyone help me do that? ok what the fuck its fast again nevermind, computer is just bipolar
Is max 80°C a good temp for an I5-3570k @ 4.2ghz with a Corsair H60? Whilst running IntelBurnTest on maximum level.
I don't think there are many other programs that gets the CPU as hot as IBT. You should be fine.
I got done building my new computer and for some reason my power unit (Corsair TX750) fan doesn't turn on at the start up. I looked for a set of wires that may lead directly to the fan but there is none, should I be worried? Does the fan turn on automatically or something?
retoasting for this.
I have a three antenna pci wifi card. I was wondering if I could make bigger antenna, would it boost my signal and speed up my connection?
My 2500k with H212+ doesn't get near 80c at 4.4GHz, isnt H60 a water cooler? [editline]3rd February 2013[/editline] Really? I'll try that. I've never had problems with running out of RAM anyway. Played BF3 fine while having photoshop, 3DS max and Sony vegas open in the background (while vegas was rendering a video) fine (memory and FPS wie and such)
With 3DS and Vegas, you might run into out of memory issues. Of course the worse that'll happen is your render will fail and you'll have to try again (after turning the page file back on).
I have a three antenna pci wifi card. I was wondering if I could make bigger antenna, would it boost my signal and speed up my connection?
I think the antenna has to be the same length as the amplitude of the signal.
Which anti-virus does everyone recommend? Right now I'm using Avast Free Antivirus but I want to know some other alternatives, any websites comparing various known antivirus software?
On a related note, my family computer has gotten ransomware that shows a screen imitating US gov't and asking for money to unlock the computer. My brother was browsing the internet and it popped up when he clicked on a site. The screen shows on startup and booting into safe mode just shows a black screen. Any ideas on what I can do to get rid of it? [editline]4th February 2013[/editline] I think it's something along the lines of this.
Which anti-virus does everyone recommend? Right now I'm using Avast Free Antivirus but I want to know some other alternatives, any websites comparing various known antivirus software?
ESET NOD32 is rather awesome.
Which anti-virus does everyone recommend? But off the top of my head the decent AV's are avast, Avira, Kaspersky, and Bitdefender. http://www.av-test.org/ http://www.av-comparatives.org/

Would it be safe for me to hook the afflicted hard drive up to my computer and running Avast/Malwarebytes or do I risk infecting my own PC?
It's very good. Dell monitors are high quality and long lasting.
Is the Dell S2340M a good monitor? I need to replace my current monitor sometime soonish. I've heard nothing but good things about Dell monitors and $160 for an IPS panel doesn't sound too bad. [editline]4th February 2013[/editline] I dug around for reviews but I can't seem to find any from big name review sites.
the bezel is much larger than it shows in pictures fyi
the bezel is much larger than it shows in pictures fyi
Yeah, the pictures are photoshopped (but just about every other manufacturer does the same). It's still a great monitor in any case and it's especially great for the price.
the bezel is much larger than it shows in pictures fyi
Holy crap, that was a terrible photoshop that newegg did. Actual picture: [thumb]http://i47.tinypic.com/ta4gaa.jpg[/thumb]
I see what they did, they didn't take into account the glass goes over part of the bezel when photoshopping that image on. Shame on them.

Kind of sad that my laptop has a bigger bezel than that monitor

Let's say we have a network of computers that use a computer running Windows Server 2003 as their DHCP server. Currently they're using the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and the IP range 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.255. If I want to change the IP range to 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.255.255, and therefore the subnet mask to 255.255.0.0, can I do this only on the DHCP server, or are there any other place where I need to change something?

Are there any decent web apps or programs for having a digital calendar/agenda with like, push notifications or alarms or something like that? Don't need it to sync with other devices. Would be nice if I could paste loads of text to it sometimes.

G.Calendar works pretty well for me.

Although once you do it, you'll need to make all the computers get a new IP lease, otherwise it could take a couple of days (or more, depending on your lease length set in DHCP) for them to all migrate to the new network. I'm assuming this is a rather large network since you're moving from having 254 DHCP address to over 65,000 so you might just want to send a notice to everyone telling them to shut their computers down at the end of the day, then do your DHCP change, that way when they all boot back up in the morning they should get the new addresses.
I'm trying to setup Eyefinity and I'm kinda stuck as in what ports I need to use. Looking at this one guide it says that I need one DVI-D, HDMI and Mini-DSP to DVI-D. Is that correct?

Problem here. My service provider is BT infinity and everytime i have utorrent open in the evenings, despite being throttled badly, certain webpages i want to access miraculously appear to be down when i click on them. For example, I need to Google something and as soon as i go there, the page appears to be down for around 5 minutes for me. Or i'd click a completely unrelated link that i'm interested in and it might be down for five minutes. This is some inception bullshit because the only websites i specifically NEED to go to, appears down until i stop pressuring to try and access it. This is some hard shit to try and explain but it's happening to me and it's the most annoying thing i've ever come across. idk w/e
