As long as that's the only DHCP server, that's the only place you need to change anything.
Although once you do it, you'll need to make all the computers get a new IP lease, otherwise it could take a couple of days (or more, depending on your lease length set in DHCP) for them to all migrate to the new network.
I'm assuming this is a rather large network since you're moving from having 254 DHCP address to over 65,000 so you might just want to send a notice to everyone telling them to shut their computers down at the end of the day, then do your DHCP change, that way when they all boot back up in the morning they should get the new addresses.
I just changed it, and it worked perfectly. All the computers on the old subnet still somehow worked, so there was no need to manually do that.
It was a school with a small number of students, but with all the smartphones and laptops, more addresses were needed. I'm sure we didn't need such a big number as 65,000, but I did it because we can. It's not like there's any drawbacks for allowing that many clients.
Problem here. My service provider is BT infinity and everytime i have utorrent open in the evenings, despite being throttled badly, certain webpages i want to access miraculously appear to be down when i click on them. For example, I need to Google something and as soon as i go there, the page appears to be down for around 5 minutes for me. Or i'd click a completely unrelated link that i'm interested in and it might be down for five minutes. This is some inception bullshit because the only websites i specifically NEED to go to, appears down until i stop pressuring to try and access it. This is some hard shit to try and explain but it's happening to me and it's the most annoying thing i've ever come across. idk w/e
limit your upload speed
I'll give that a whirl. Thanks
-SNIP-
MBps is Megabytes
Mbps is Megabits.
When it comes to transfers of a connection like wireless, network, or internet, it's going to be a bit.
Also I don't get your question. 450 is the limit of the network adapter to it's host. A speedtest is the speed of the internet connection within that wireless link to your access point.
Kind of like how running a gigabit lan cable doesn't mean you're going to download stuff from the internet at a gigabit.
I have a quick question, my dad bought a wireless USB wi-fi adapter for his computer. It's a dual-band 450Mbps [sic], maybe I'm crazy, but I thought that meant that you can't get more than 450Mbps out of it, but when I run a speed test, I get his full 11Mbps normal speed? Does anyone know why this is?
Also, I say [sic] because that's what it says on the box, Mbps = megabits per second right? (MBps I think is Megabytes per second, is that also right)?
I'm so confused, did you think 11 was a bigger number than 450? Because it's not.
I'm so confused, did you think 11 was a bigger number than 450? Because it's not.
OH JEEZ, I thought it was .450 for some reason. I honestly don't know how I misread that, I feel like such a moron.
Ignore me everyone, forget it.
I'm looking for a good program to manage and view my images on my computer. I generally just use Irfanview for viewing. Well, when ever I upload my pictures from my phone (Android), I have to add them to a folder, but when I add them to my computer and remove them from my phone, it resets the photo IDs on the phone some what, and I'll have to import them to a new directory or be forced to rename the images. Surely there is a program that is excellent for viewing and managing my photos, that isn't the default Windows crap.
I enjoy MediaMonkey for managing my music on my library as well as my phone. So something that operates in a similar fashion, but designed for photos would be excellent. I've searched Google, but I haven't found something that suits me so far.

I might try Google's Picasa. So long as they aren't automatically uploaded to an album on my Google account.
I don't think there are many other programs that gets the CPU as hot as IBT. You should be fine.
Yeah on things like Prime95, temps go to around 65-70 but IBT pushes it all the way to 75-80

Okay, so it didn't really work out as nice as I thought. Four of the computers connect to the network but get no Internet access, whereas the rest work just like before. Any clues as to what could be causing something like this?
also this is my HDD

When it's happening watch resource monitor, I think chrome has a bug where it hangs waiting for HDD or something, mine does the same thing when I try to go to the download folder and stuff. No clue, try messing with relevant chrome://flags/

Okay this is probably a weird one but there's no thread in the games forum
Can I replace a fat PS2's 110v power supply with a 220v one? I imagine they output the same voltage/wattage, and it'd be really nice to not have to have a couple pounds of metal to step the power down from 220v.

I thought fat PS2s just had a cord? Look at the adapters anyways, they should say the output voltage/amperage
Once you activated your windows license is it possible to deactivate it and reactivate it on another computer?
Would a OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W be enough for:
1 x SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7870 XT with Boost
1 x Seagate ST1000DM003
1 x Corsair 8 GB DDR3-1600 Kit
1 x Intel® Core™ i5-3570K
1 x ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 Performance
Possibly adding a ssd in the future.
And an exerternal usb dvd-rw on rare occasions.
If not any suggestions on what psu to get, preferably modular.

Yep
I'm talking about replacing the internal power supply

Comp locked up and I had to hard reboot it. Open up Opera and I'm getting this popup constantly. However, this page, in addition to confusing the hell out of me, says that a drive with 70 gigs may take several days to repair, while I have one with 230. Is this crucial to remedy or can I safely just switch browsers and ignore it? Or, if it is necessary, is there an easier way to fix it?

Yeah, that pretty much means your hard drive is dying. Back everything up now.
Well shit. What's the point of having a utility meant to fix something if you're screwed either way?
Well shit. What's the point of having a utility meant to fix something if you're screwed either way?
That utility can buy you time, as it finds bad sectors and attempts to save any data on them while also marking them unusable so Windows doesn't use them for anything else.
Just backup your data and get an RMA/new drive. Not the end of the world.

Now I'm fully aware that I have a Radeon 7870 but why does it always say "7800 series"?
[editline]8th February 2013[/editline]
Also is it normal that Speccy doesn't show the temprature of the GPU?
How much would my setup be worth? I have a few small computers powerful enough for photoshop that I can use.
i7-860
5850
4gb of DDR3-1333
Asus P7P55 LX LGA
Corsair 500t case
Corsair 850watt powersupply
Corsair H50 cooler
2x - 30gb OCZ SSD's
1x - 320gb samsung HDD
CD/DVD burner

Yes, it should show 7800 series and speccy sucks, get hwmonitor or something.
Anyone know of a good(and cheap) gigabit router with dd-wrt support?
