So i'm trying to solder my headphone cable, but I've ran into a problem. It has no wires, it just has really tiny unshielded copper things. One green, one red, and one just copper. I'm trying to splice it with a cable that is white, red, and copper. What do i solder to what?
I think you need to get a new pair of headphones.
But its the cable, which detaches from the actual headphone. I has to be able to solder. [editline]9th February 2013[/editline] Because, if it were some sort of proprietary cable, why does it work with 3.5mm jacks?

Given that some laptops are higher res than 1080p, has anyone got any information on 4K PC monitors?

Don't think 4k monitors will become affordable within the next 5 years, at the least
Given that some laptops are higher res than 1080p, has anyone got any information on 4K PC monitors?
You will have to wait a few years.
Why are DDR3 RAM sticks more expensive than DDR2 i'm trying to get a good set of 4gb or even 2gb and it's like £30 wait shit i typed that wrong i did mean DDR2
Why are DDR3 RAM sticks more expensive than DDR2 i'm trying to get a good set of 4gb or even 2gb and it's like £30
Uhm actually DDR2 is way more expensive?!
Don't think 4k monitors will become affordable within the next 5 years, at the least
Why is it that a $600 Nexus 10 can have a resolution of 2560x1600 and we can't simply use this technology to make an affordable 27inch 4K monitor?
Uhm actually DDR2 is way more expensive?!
yeah i typed it wrong i meant DDR2

They really aren't made anymore as everyone and their mother has moved on to DDR3, so they're pretty rare.
Why is it that a $600 Nexus 10 can have a resolution of 2560x1600 and we can't simply use this technology to make an affordable 27inch 4K monitor?
If loads of TVs start coming out with 4K resolution, then monitors will use those panels too. But currently there is no essentially no 4K content (modern movies are recorded in >4K but here is no storage medium appropriate to hold that much data) I should think apple will bring out 4K cinema displays.

Tablets should be the thing of the past, this isn't star fucking trek.
Tablets should be the thing of the past, this isn't star fucking trek.
Why's that, might I ask? Tablet devices are fine, some people even substitute them for their desktops If you like desktop PC's then ok but some people like other forms of PC's too

If they're reinventing the tablet, why get rid of the stuff like a physical keyboard? It's getting a lot more repetitive. Just stating my opinion, but I'm fed up with the overpriced tablet convertibles, the HP convertibles and the ThinkPad x230t and the Twist seem very nice but they price it so high. I hope the Helix is no more than £500.
Well convertibles aren't the same as tablets like the iPad and Nexus line, they're fantastic for multimedia consumption on the fly.
Well fuck, what a rip off :suicide: .
It's expensive because it's big, and it's not really for consumers. Many of these TV's are for people who can afford to advertise they have a 4k screen. 1080p isn't that special any more so there isn't much of a premium to it. 4K 32" PC monitors exist for a few thousand from Sharp right now I think. Maybe 5000. But the thing is 4k Screens arent that produced yet so they are still expensive. Ontop of that, it's not just the screen, it's all the electronics inside to drive it.

My parents got pissed off and destroyed my peripherals, so I need to replace the following: G15 keyboard G35 headset G400 mouse I reaaaallly love Logitech stuff, but I don't think my parents are willing to pay for the damage. Any of you guys know any good headsets in the 50-100 dollar range, and keyboards in the 80 or less range?

Also the Corsair K60 is on sale on Newegg for $65.

Plus if you've actually got a PS3, then awesome.
I remember my dad got pissed at me once and cut my mouse cable with scissors. That blew.
Since I got a stupid answer in the mouse megathread I might get an actual answer in here. I got a g400, and I set the dpi to 900, just like my old Deathadder. Why does 900 dpi on the g400 feel at least twice as fast? It should be exactly like it because the dpi is the same. And yes, acceleration is disabled and shit.
Is there a way where I can have my computer not sleep when the lid closes only when an hdmi is plugged in? I want it to sleep otherwise. A way besides turning that function on and off.
why is this happening? i'm not doing ANYTHING, just sitting at my desktop and it keeps spiking like that
