http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DijQ Anything on this list that I shouldn't have chosen? Also, what's a good form factor 2.1 speaker set?
Get a mechanical keyboard instead of the G510. (I would go with a K60) Acer is also not the most reputable brand in terms of monitors (read: cheap)
I've been looking into buying a new monitor. As of present I've got a GTX 560TI, and my present monitor is a V223W from Acer(1680x1050). My questions are the following... 1.) 1920x1200 or 1920x1080? 2.) Any recommendations on brands and all that?
You could get the Dell Ultrasharp U2412m (1920x1200)
Acer is also not the most reputable brand in terms of monitors (read: cheap)
what 120hz monitor would you recommend?
what 120hz monitor would you recommend?
For 120hz, I would go with Asus or Benq. I personally can't see the difference whilst gaming. Video playback does look better though. (assuming you have the right framerate video.)
Well I kinda wanted to dabble in 3D stuff, that's why I wanted to get 120hz
Trying to learn a new keyboard layout is really silly for a totally imaginary advantage.
Negative Nancy...
Well I kinda wanted to dabble in 3D stuff, that's why I wanted to get 120hz
Then Asus or Benq are definitely your best bet. If you dig deep enough, there was a stereoscopic 3d thread not too long ago. They had some monitor recommendations. [editline]13th February 2013[/editline] Found it: http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1202114
alright, all that leaves is a 2.1 speaker set. (is there a speaker thread?)
alright, all that leaves is a 2.1 speaker set. (is there a speaker thread?)
Home audio thread or Post your desk thread are probably your best bet. Home audio will most likely suggest some bookshelf speakers and a small amp, whereas desk will probably suggest something Logitech.
So I'm up for a new phone in March and I'm deciding on a few different phones. My dad recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S3, but I was also looking into a LG Optimus G and an Iphone 5. The LG and Samsung phones cost the same so it's really just a decision between the two of those. I'm curious what you guys have heard of them and your opinion. My carrier is Sprint if you guys happen to find any other phones that you prefer.

Ends up being $35 cheaper after promo code and rebate. Even if you're not ordering everything right now, go ahead and buy that because it's an amazing deal. [editline]13th February 2013[/editline] and also get 1TB caviar black hard drives. [editline]13th February 2013[/editline] plus a different case because the nine hundred is really outdated. Corsair 400R, Cooler Master Storm Scout 2, BitFenix Shinobi, Antec P280 (kinda eh but it's nice), Cooler Master HAF 922, Fractal Design Define R4, and the BitFenix Raider are all good cases.

hey remember me from the chat thread i found out i should go here so I have a question that has never been answered satisfactorily. I am planning on building a gaming desktop with a $700 budget. Err on the side of expense, but the cutoff is $750. I would like to know about how much I should spend on each part in order to avoid bottlenecks. The price does not include a monitor. Portability is not an issue. Allocate some cash for keeping noise and heat down. No overclocking. Thank you, in advance.
For 120hz, I would go with Asus or Benq. I personally can't see the difference whilst gaming. Video playback does look better though. (assuming you have the right framerate video.)
The difference in games is pretty huge in my eyes. Plus a higher refresh rate means your monitor is better at displaying arbitrary framerates even below 60 because it's got a better chance of displaying the frames at regular intervals, rather than jittering at lower refresh rates when some refreshes have a new frame, and some have the same frame. Also, SVP (smooth video project) is a neat little piece of software that will use your GPU power to interpolate frames in videos to match your refresh rate, to make things smoother. Some don't like the effect, but I love it, especially on my 120hz.
The reason why I say 1920x1080 is it's a more common standard, and you'll see less black borders. Also, the moment you open up a game, you can easily see the difference between 60hz & 120hz. That is if you have decent framerate.
32GB would be plenty.
Shit. I ordered 128GB... And yes it is a serious question.
Seriously considering buying an android tablet, but can't decide between the Nexus 10 and the galaxy note 10.1. I love the nexus because of the screen resolution, but I also love the note 10.1 because of expandable memory and the multi-window thing. But touchwiz pisses me off and the screen resolution isn't great on the note. Which one would you guys get?

The tf300 is older, and is mostly the same except for 1280x800 screen resolution. They are not made of paper like the Samsung, or under-powered for their screen like the Nexus 10. You can also get a keyboard dock with an extra battery that makes them run for ~15 hours on a single charge.
I own a Nexus 7 and found I rarely ever used onboard storage. I setup network and cloud services to do it for me. I do however keep some episodes of TV on my tablet, but outside of that I never felt the need.

But I guess it works. Noticed the prices to the right when I posted this

I got the upgraded Nexus 4 with 16GB just because it was still such a great deal, and I've found little use for the space. I ended up keeping a copy of almost every ROM in active development and a full copy of Ubuntu for Android and I still have 3GB+ left.

Not viable for me.
How do I make sure that parts are compatible? Like a new GPU, PSW and my current motherboard. -Also, I'm torn between upgrading or saving for a good Laptop for Uni (I'll be studying digital media hopefully) - My motherbaord has a PCIe X16 slot but looking at this GPU I see "PCI Express-compliant motherboard with one dualwidth x16 graphics slot" and "Video Card Bus Version 3.0 x16" I'm not sure how to make sure this is fully compatible with my Mothreboard, here is Speccy's readout:
Manufacturer BIOSTAR Group Model G31-M7 TE (CPU 1) Chipset Vendor Intel Chipset Model P35/G33/G31 Chipset Revision 10 Southbridge Vendor Intel Southbridge Model 82801GB (ICH7/R) Southbridge Revision A1 System Temperature 39 °C BIOS Brand American Megatrends Inc. Guys is something wrong with my Razer Deathstalker? while i am playing TERA it will stop working for no reason and i would have to unplug it, then plug it back it for it to work its happened 4 times now. should i return it and get a replacement?
Unfortunately that is not an option for me as my internet is rarely goes above 0.1mbit/s
RARELY 12.8KBYTE/S? Where the fuck do you live? Using EDGE on a freaking asteroid?

Would a TJ07 fit 2x 240 rads and a 480 rad? The 480 and one 240 in the bottom and one 240 in the top?
RARELY 12.8KBYTE/S? Where the fuck do you live? Using EDGE on a freaking asteroid?
:( Yeah it's depressing speeds. I live in the countryside in the UK, and my exchange was built for a very small village, then my village more than quadrupled in size and other villages started using our exchange too, what we're left with are terrible speeds in peak times. I sometimes get 1-2mbit at 2am if I'm lucky. Also I decided to go for the Nexus 10, just with 32gb of storage since it's still £10 cheaper than the note 10.1 16gb.
