Right, so I've got a server with two network adapters on it. I used to have my Windows 2003 bridge them, recently I fucked the OS and I need to reinstall, but I wanted server 2008 which just doesn't want to go in. I've got Linux (CentOS) on it now, but how do I create a network bridge between the two adapters? I've tried and looked everywhere.
Here's something I thought of. how much would a cd/dvd drive cost? and thermal goo? and all those other little things I'd need to build a computer? could you factor that in? My maximum budget for the entire thing is maybe $760. I'll probably get a monitor as a gift, and maybe windows 8.
You could get a decent CD/DVD drive (not a burner, mind you) and some thermal paste for 20 bucks total.
[thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/101889627/2013-02-16%2005.08.51.jpg[/thumb] Hey guys is this likely to be a graphics card problem or a problem with the monitor? I have 2 monitors and it only happens on one, so I'm assuming it's the monitor.

Try switching out the cable from the other monitor to that one, if it persists then your monitor is fucked.
It's likely VGA with the cable all wound up, or it's worn out.
Switched them around and it looks like I need a new cable, thanks guys.
Its time to move onto DVI anyways
How do I make sure that parts are compatible? Does anyone know of some software that can recover software keys? I found this: http://recover-keys.com/ But I don't want to spend $25 It needs to recover Office 2010 and Visual Studio 2010

What would be the best Linux distro for an Apple iBook G4? The distro would have to support PPC's.
What would be the best Linux distro for an Apple iBook G4? The distro would have to support PPC's.
I don't know much about it, but while Canonical does not officially support PPC, there appears to be community support here. Debian has a port for PPC here, and there is another distro called yellow dog linux which is focused on the platform. In the end I can't recommend any of these because: a) I don't use any on a regular basis. b) I've never owned a PPC based computer. You might want to wait for someone more knowledgeable to come along, but you can take a look at a few possible options and decide which you like.
What would be the best Linux distro for an Apple iBook G4? The distro would have to support PPC's.
For the short time I had an iBook G3 (Which I killed trying to fix the infamous GPU problem..), I used Debian. It was alright, though like most of my encounters with Linux with non-intel GPUs, the graphics drivers weren't hardware accelerated.
What would be the best Linux distro for an Apple iBook G4? The distro would have to support PPC's.
Debian is probably your best bet.
Is there a way (a setting somewhere or something) to get more options for the Windows folder browser? I mean this one: Something like an address bar or the bookmarks/favourites that are visible in Explorer.
I don't know if my disk drive is fucked or if I'm doing something wrong or whatever but whenever I put a CD/DVD into it my explorer.exe dies and Windows stops responding altogether until the second I eject the disk when everything starts working again. Any ideas?
it's compatible but you probably won't see that great of performance gains because of your CPU.
Laptop it is, I really want a Laptop anyway for their handiness. The tower can wait.

How easy is it to switch from a membrane keyboard to a mechanical keyboard? I've been using a membrane keyboard to type and play games for a really long time now (5+ years), and I've been told that mechanical ones are generally better and last longer, but I'm hesitant to switch because when I occasionally use a mechanical keyboard I'm a much slower/less accurate typer. If I started using a mechanical keyboard regularly, approximately how long would it take to adjust?
