[QUOTE=DragonAwesome;39639632]How easy is it to switch from a membrane keyboard to a mechanical keyboard? I've been using a membrane keyboard to type and play games for a really long time now (5+ years), and I've been told that mechanical ones are generally better and last longer, but I'm hesitant to switch because when I occasionally use a mechanical keyboard I'm a much slower/less accurate typer. If I started using a mechanical keyboard regularly, approximately how long would it take to adjust?[/QUOTE]
took me a little under a week, but that's because at school I use a rubber dome keyboard everyday so it was weird having to adjust between that each time

Not long. I used my friend's das. It took me about 30 minutes until I was faster than I am on my G15.

Took me about 72 hours to get accustomed to it. This was coming from a G15v2 to a MX Blue based keyboard.

I have a virus, the kind that highlights words on websites and makes adds pop up when you mouse over them. This is a new laptop too, the pre installed macfee scan didn't work, getting AVG and scanning with that didn't work, and a system restore didn't work. Until I have a chance to reinstall windows or somthing any suggestions?

McAfee is shit and AVG has been going down the tubes.
Try avast, and if that doesn't work check your Firefox addons for it.

It's an extension/add-on probably, look through there.

Well I'll be damned, thanks.
Hello, I have Samsung SyncMaster S27B350 and I've gone about overclocking it to 80Hz which works really nice until a little message on my screen pops-up telling me its not optimum mode, is there any way to bypass this message?
I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 3560 running 64-bit Win 7.
It's completely "stock" at the moment with the T6600 CPU and the Nvidia GT240M GPU.
I know the CPU is eligible for an upgrade to the T9900, but I was wondering if I could also upgrade the GPU.
So what GPU's might I be able to stuff in my craptop?
Having DX 11 would be wonderful but that's probably a stretch.
[editline]..[/editline]
Almost forgot, the motherboard is the Fujitsu EF7A (U2E1)
And I am not sure if the card can be upgraded, I have searched for an answer to that but haven't found any.
And I haven't dared open it up for a look.
So I hope someone experienced can answer that as well.
[editline]..[/editline]
Found a schematic, last time I looked at one was 3 years ago, so It doesn't help me.
But maybe you can deduce whether I can upgrade or not with it:

You sure the GPU is upgradable? is it on a separate card?
I've seen 2 different suggestions when looking at computer building guides: either have the CPU be notably more expensive than the mobo, or have them be around the same price. for a ~$700 gaming PC, which advice should I follow?
So I've been having network troubles with people on Xbox Live. I live in a rural area so most of my friends have an ISP called Frontier. I have Time Warner as my ISP. I'm trying to connect to them but I can't. I tried updating my router firmware but:

Suggestions?
Check manually? As in go to the router's manufacturer's website and look for firmware updates.
[del]mechanical keyboards, high discounts

(very limited amount of time) like an hour to an hour and a half[/del]
edit: they're not actually wireless so don't know why it's called wireless in the link

Curious as to why this hard drive is so slow?

Windows 8 on my laptop, why do these squares appear?

Not a big deal, but it'd be nice if it was normal

I actually have that on my windows 7 install on my desktop.
I guess it's something to do with them using a character from an unknown font or someshit.

Buying expensive motherboards for a budget build is pointless, focus on things that actually give better performance. I generally go with i5 + ~$130 Z77 board or i3 + ~$80 Z77, Z75, or H77 board when I do builds. Also don't get an mATX.
[editline]20th February 2013[/editline]
But you could squeeze in like a $90-$100 Z77 board for an i5 build too.

Hey, I like mAtx boards :(
Some are nice, they're just a little impractical imo.
Is there a Microsoft site that allows you to download the installer for programs like MapPoint? We have an enterprise license here at work but no CDs.
I want to get a new smart phone. Right now I'm stuck between Iphone 4 /4s and sony xperia T. What would you guys recommend?

I will probably get one used on ebay, my budget is around 200 - 300.
My soundcard died again, using onboard
everything sounds AWFUL
What's the best PCIe x1 card? Preferably under £70.

My onboard sounds great by itself. I decided to go with SPDIF (TOSLINK) instead though.

Depends on what you are listening trough. Speakers? If so, 2.1? 5.1? 7.1? Headphones? If so, link.
thank you, mr. Walrus.

I defragmented it recently, it was around 11%
