What's the best I can do with $600 when it comes to laptops?
I have tearing on my one monitor and I was wondering, how would I go about fixing that? Right now I'm running HDMI, DVI and MiniDP to DVi.
I have tearing on my one monitor and I was wondering, how would I go about fixing that? Right now I'm running HDMI, DVI and MiniDP to DVi.
turn on vsync
I have tearing on my one monitor and I was wondering, how would I go about fixing that? Right now I'm running HDMI, DVI and MiniDP to DVi.
Get an active adapter.
turn on vsync
Still get it even with vsync on in games.
Get an active adapter.
Already have one. Still get it.
Still get it even with vsync on in games. Already have one. Still get it.
is vsync disabled in your gpu control panel? are you running full screen?
is vsync disabled in your gpu control panel? are you running full screen?
Nope. Doesn't really matter what I run. Could be watching a movie and get it. I don't get it when I run "extended". Only when running Eyefinity.
Your adapter is bad then. That's a problem with eyefinity. If you swap ports you'll find it's always the screen running on a non-dominant output.
Well when I set my preferred display to my left monitor (MiniDP to DVI), my center (HDMI) and right monitor (DVI) both have tearing and if I have my preferred display as the center then it's the left while the right being completely fine. If it is indeed a bad adapter I might get a new one.
I just know that it's a known issue or Eyefinity for tearing on non-primary screens if not using active adapters. Your adapters cost more than like 40 bucks right?
30-35. http://accellcables.com/products/DisplayPort/DP/mdp_dvi_sl_active.htm is exactly the one I have.
that sounds too cheap for an active adapter to me.
It's what AMD had on their list of certified adapters.
The Chromebook Pixel is $1300? What's the point? The >$500 laptops with Chrome OS made sense, though why the hell would you get a Chromebook Pixel over a Windows ultrabook or MacBook Air / retina MacBook Pro? EDIT: Thought I was in CIPWTTKT, whoops.

will a PCI E 2.1 card work in a PCI E x16 slot? my mobo is fucked and im buying a new one but i cant afford to upgrade anything else
will a PCI E 2.1 card work in a PCI E x16 slot? my mobo is fucked and im buying a new one but i cant afford to upgrade anything else
Short Answer: Absolutely Long Answer: Absolutely, though PCI-E 2.1 refers to the version and X16 refers to physical length of the slot. Since I'm pretty sure you're talking about a graphics card, it will work just fine.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157337 im buying that board as it has some of the older tech on it as like i said, i cant afford to buy a new cpu or more ram but it will work? thats awesome thank you! [editline]21st February 2013[/editline] oh so that slot is probably like a 1.0 or 2.0 PCI E?
Does anyone know a place where i can convert .mus/.asf to a playable format?
If I wanna SLI my GTX 560 but cannot find any place that sells them, can I hook up a similar card from the 600 series? And if so, which? Thanks.
Is it worth upgrading from an ati HD6870 to an nvidia 660ti superclocked? or is the difference not worth £220

Im planning to upgrade to an i5 3570k, which will require a new motherboard too. My question is, will I just shut down my PC, remove my current mobo (with a Phenom II x4 in it), put in the new mobo and CPU, reconnect errthing and start it. Then it will just work? I wont have to reinstall windows or anything? Also, a 750w PSU would be ok for 2 HD 6870's + an overclocked i5 3570k? Right?
-snip- What person below said, i forgot i had to reinstall windows actually.

Actually just sysprep and remove your chipset drivers, shouldn't be a problem even if you don't. You'll jsut have to reactivate.
