Is the "Temp2" value normal? This is under heavy load (GMod) here are my specs:
SpeedFan is usually awful with temperatures I use speccy to view temps, so just assume SpeedFan is reporting a wrong value and post the Speccy under load
Speccy is under load.
In that case, the temperatures reported by Speccy are fine, I wouldn't worry.
Okay then. Thanks for the quick reply
Does anyone have a rough time frame of when the 660/670 will be available?
Between now and august. August is the rumored 685 release. So we might see 670's in late april, early may.
So, I have come to a conclusion that the Scythe Mugen 2b, is a bit too bulky and will consume basicly the whole window. Are there any alternatives? I have been looking at the NH-C14, and the H100. Any other recommendations?

Bear in mind you're paying more for poorer cooling and louder fans than with traditional air cooling though. Also, stay away from the H100 - Look at the Antec Kuhler 920 instead.
Linux will probably save it. Just get a tiny liveCD
Thanks! Tried a random Ubuntu Live CD, and managed to get the files out.
Alright guys so I fucked up bad. I got a new hard drive and I have been trying to make it my boot drive by cloning my old hard drive to my new hard drive. I never altered the old hard drive (99.9% sure of this). I was never able to clone and then add unallocated space to the partition, and i spent hours on it so I just said fuck it, so I put the new hard drive (wiped) into a new comp I am building. Here is the issue now. My old comp won't start up unless both hard drives are present. With the old hard drive it just won't start up. With the new hard drive it says I am missing windows files. this is odd because the new hard drive is wiped clean. Not even a partition, all unallocated space. Windows will only start up if I have both hard drives connected to my comp, and even then I can't even show the second drive in Disk management OR My computer. I really need help. Appreciated.
I am building a cheap rig for my friend and the price is about at $450. His only request about the computer is that it runs minecraft at a playable level. This needs to be as cheap as possible, so I picked a 520 as his GPU. Am I over shooting on the card? If so what cheaper card would you recommend

Tinytomlogan said it was quite good, and really the only one he would recommend from the H series. Also, the h100 has dual rads, the kuhler doesn't.

The H100 is overpriced for what you get, but it's still a solid cooler and looks pretty awesome, TTL really only uses it because it's easy to use on his test bench (doesn't require much mounting and fiddling as a big air heatsink would) and he's sponsored by Corsair. But it is a good cooler, just a bit overpriced for the performance, if you like the look of it and have the money then go for it.
I think I will just go for a Nh-d14 then, just a shame the window gets partially blocked.

I'd also get a PSU that's at least capable of running a 5770, maybe those cheap cooler master 430 watt PSU.
Building a new compy, should I just wait until the mid range 6 series nvidia cards and for the new intel chip sets?
Waiting is the best thing you can do right now.
Hey guys, my PCI-E Wireless Adapter is being really finicky after one of the antannae came off, so I "borrowed" my sister's D-Link Wireless Adapter (It's a surprisingly good one) and it's a USB one that comes with a single-slot USB Hub with cord. Would I see any speed differences between plugging it directly into the computer and plugging it into the hub?
Alright cool. Any chance theyll be out in a month or so? Gotta have a new computer for Diablo 3 haha
For the Intel CPUs I believe so, not sure about the mid-range Nvidia cards though.

If so, you could probably repair the old HD by using the Windows 7 install disk (assuming you are using W7). Start up using the Windows 7 DVD, pick "Repair your computer", then "Startup Repair". Also, I'm pretty sure that an empty drive still should show up in Disk Management.

I'd love to have a laptop as my own PC, until I move with my dad and then still use it as a laptop, so, I'd love a decent GPU, processor speed, and a good amount of USB Ports. Any thoughts?
Powerful laptops are heavy and have shitty battery life. Also, even the most powerful laptop will get old fast. I suggest you get a desktop and some cheap laptop.
Are there any negative effects caused by putting a 1200w PSU in a rig that only needs 800?
