I don't think it's an IED. I'd post what kind I have but I'm away and I can't remember what kind it is at the moment.
Does anyone know of a way to get an Enhanced IDE Hardrive working on USB as a sort-of Removable HDD?

It should be ok, even if it is a shitbrand, 6870s don't use more than 150w load and I doubt the rest of your computer uses more than 150-200w.

If the PSU can even output 480w.
I need to reinstall Windows on my laptop, problem is I can't find the CD anymore. The key says I got the "Windows 7 Home Premium OA Acer Group", can I just get a normal CD from somebody else and reinstall it with my key?

You could try torrenting it and using your key, technically that may still be legal? If not I'M SORRY
That's perfectly legal.
That's perfectly legal.
It's legal, but chances are if you're torrenting Windows from some site like TPB, it's gonna have virii pre-installed. Just grab the .iso off of Microsoft's website.

Before you say "Virii" isn't a real word, I say fuck you it's a living language.
That's nonsense, you'd have to be an idiot to pick up a virus while torrenting something as simple as an Operating System.
Is it possible for me to make a video my desktop background?
Alright, quick question. I just swapped out my 2x2GB Dual-Channel for a 2x4GB Dual-Channel (Woo!) and was wondering if I could stick my old set in my second dual-channel slots, and what the extra power consumption would be like? I got a 650w PSU. Cheers!

Yes, and about 3.3 volts.
What kind of benefits can I expect out of reducing my average CPU temp by 20 C?
There was a lot of dust in there. :v:

You'll increase it's life expectancy, decrease the chance of unwanted problems, and if you were noticing problems like stuttering etc, that would probaly help stop them.
You may also notice a performance increase if you're using newer CPUs as they can boost the clock speed automatically if the temperature is low enough (IIRC) (Turbo-Mode?)

Also, thanks for the advice guys. I figured RAM didn't use much power but I figured I'd ask anyways. Now I got 12GB in my computer instead of 4! :D

Look up Windows 7 DreamScene activator
quickly found one, download the rar from here
http://droot1986.deviantart.com/art/Mass-Effect-3-Normandy-FTL-Dreamscene-290149926
then it's simply right clicking on something like a .wmv and set to background

You're right, you would have to be an idiot to torrent an OS with a virus on it.
Which is why I don't torrent Windows.
Just grab the .ISO from Microsoft, it's not worth the risk.

You'd have to be an idiot to assume TPB is safe.
Just talking with a friend about graphic cards(no plans on buying anything).
If you would buy a card NOW at the moment, would you go for a 7970 or a 680 or something other?
Looked at some benchmarks but 680 was better than 7970 at some and 7970 was better than 680 at something other.
Depends entirely on what you plan to do.
Uh, we talked gaming, only.
Best wireless capable router with three or four wired ports? I got a netbook and I want to stop stealing my neighbor's shit internet.

There are USB/IDE adapter/enclosures - I have one, but it's laptop-drive sized. Something like this should work for 3.5" desktop drives.

I can't use a plug-in thing, my power strip is full as it is, and I will be having the drive 24/7

You might be able to find one that uses USB power (mine uses two USB ports - one just for power, one for power/data). Not too likely for a desktop drive, though.
an IDE drive still needs a 12v connection, i don't see how you could get that without a power adapter or pulling a molex out of the case or something

Probably 680, they perform very similar yet the 680 has a couple more features, plus more people have trouble with AMD drivers than nVidia.
Ok so in any browser I use, whenever I try to download something, the browser crashes. I deleted everything the google chrome folder except extensions and it did nothing. It does it in IE too.
I was installing Cygwin the other day and it got about half through installing but it was taking forever so I canceled it, a few hours later I went to bed. I turned my computer on the next day and the Windows 7 loading screen appeared but after a couple of seconds it disappeared to a black screen with what looked like graphical failure with all the weird colours and lines just at the top 30 pixels of the monitor. I instantly though it was my GPU that had failed.
I decided to run my Ubuntu LiveCD (such a good debug tool & OS!) and it seemed to load into the desktop fine which was really weird. I turned the computer off then on and started Windows in safe mode. After a few second the same thing happened with the weird lines, I was about to turn it off when 10 seconds later it finally showed the loggin in screen. So the first thing I did was go to System Restore and selected the only one in there which was from the previous day. Restarted the machine and it works fine!
How can Cygwin mess up my GPU drivers?
