• The "Quick Questions that does not Deserve a Thread"...Thread. V2

[release]The purpose of this thread is simple. It's for those that have quick questions regarding on anything computer or perhaps electronics related, where a thread is not necessarily required. The reason of why such thread is created is to help reducing forums from being cluttered with threads on minor questions which tends to be ignored, as well as keeping other threads on topic such as the "Computer Illiterate think they know things" thread, where the thread have practically became a helpdesk request thread. If you have any quick questions, such as "Can my computer run this game", or "How do I turn off automatic defragmentation", feel free to ask them here. If you have any questions that may require more opinions, diagnosing issues or is more complex opposing to a fast question along the lines of "What are some pros and cons over buying a GTX480 over the Radeon HD 5870", or "My computer BSODs when I plug in blah blah blah, and would not restart. Please help me diagnose my issue", it may be wiser to create a thread in an appropriate section instead. You may ask them in this thread too, but the resulting amount of attention you will receive on your question may be insufficient. Please be descriptive about your question when possible, rather than saying "my computer does not work how to fix?"[/release]
Woah...this is weird. New thread....smells good
Quick Question: Why's the thread dead?
Quick Question: Why's the thread dead?
not sure..
I've got a Raidmax power Supply, I already asked this but what should I get between the 50 to 75 dollar range that can pick up about 600 voltage and won't blow up on me? Also http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130649 Is this a good video card to obtain, its preused but I know for the most part that doesn't matter.

I suggest you just get a prebuilt, or ask an adult
600 voltage?? I suggest you just get a prebuilt, or ask an adult
So less? and thanks for the insult, first build and all. I just used the Newegg calculator for power supplies and the total comes to about 510 w.
voltage is the measurement of current whereas wattage is the measurement of power he's being a sperg and that video card is a good card, yes.
I hate you OP, I was preparing a proper OP with a FAQ section.
My computer went weird last night, my explorer crashed, followed by everything closing down and the computer shutting down beyond my control, when I start up windows it fails to boot after the windows 7 swirly login logo, it then goes into startup repair. It doesn't work in safe mode, or "last good config" or even with a system restore. Oh and my Local Disc has changed from (C:) to (D:). Anyone got any ideas how I can fix this?
I hate you OP, I was preparing a proper OP with a FAQ section.
Just PM it to him and I'm sure he'll be willing to add it...

Need help finding the best 1 slot GPU, in the USA, Newegg. Maybe not the best but something as powerful as a gtx 460 would be nice. [editline]18th May 2011[/editline] By 1 slot I mean one slot, not one PCI slot with a giant protruding heatsink
Is there any noticeable difference between This and This and if so which is better?
The one with two fans is better, otherwise they are pretty much identical.
the MSI version has a better cooler (though it's not externally exhausting so you'll get higher case temps) and is factory overclocked
So the whole "3D Vision Surround technology Microsoft DirectX® 11 NVIDIA CUDA™ Technology NVIDIA PhysX™-Ready NVIDIA Unified Architecture OpenGL 4.1 PureVideo HD Shader Model 5.0" BS does not mean anything?
no, both cards have all that, it's just that one of them is choosing to market it. The MSI one is actually more powerful since it comes slightly overclocked, plus it has a better cooler so it will run quieter. Other than those two things, there virtually no difference.
a 580 is a 580, the only main differences between them will be coolers, overclocks and accessories included
crossfire 4850s, is it going to be a noticeable performance boost @ 1920x1080 or am i wasting my time and should buy a new card (2nd 4850 would be free)
crossfire 4850s, is it going to be a noticeable performance boost @ 1920x1080 or am i wasting my time and should buy a new card (2nd 4850 would be free)
If it's free, why not?
noticeable. if it's only going to give me a 4fps boost then i don't feel like dealing with the ache of cfx
How do I make my laptop do HDMI output to a 24" monitor? The HDMI is connected but nothing is showing up on the monitor.
noticeable. if it's only going to give me a 4fps boost then i don't feel like dealing with the ache of cfx
If not then feel free to dual-monitor the suckers.
noticeable. if it's only going to give me a 4fps boost then i don't feel like dealing with the ache of cfx
You will get more than 4FPS increase.
Does anyone know how to set an html file as a home page on chrome? I want to use a start page I edited but I can only open it manually, not have it open up whenever I open a new tab.
Are 3d monitors worth buying and are there any games coming out that will actually use 3d properly?
Probably not, I haven't seen any games in the development pipeline that do so except for Minecraft. Even then though the 3D effect works fine without the need for a special screen. If any game comes out with 3D effects you really don't need a special screen do it. Unless its specified that the 3D effect NEEDS a 3D capable screen then its both retarded and necessary.
