Yeah, well, you should not buy them simply for ethical reasons.
Specs:
Processor: AMD Phenom II 945 3.0Ghz
Ram: 1333mhz(666mhz x 2) 4GB x 2
GPU: Radeon HD 5830
PSU: 650W Corsair
Motherboard: MSI 870A-G54
Should I go 6850 or 560 ti? or should I upgrade my processor?
Anybody give me some recommendations for a cheap laptop I can game on? I'm specifically looking for something under $700 and I want to be able to play Fallout 3 and GTA IV for example. Thanks.
So I'm gonna be starting online school. What is a cheap laptop I can get? I'd prefer one in the $200-$300 range, as I don't have much to spend, and this is just for doing school work mind you.

560 ti imho.
I have extracted a number of files from an archive (.upk package, to be exact) and as it happens, they have come out in RIFF format. I have been unable to find a program that can open these, let alone extract their contents. I am almost certain that the contents are WAVs but this, again, does not help me.
Any ideas how to uh, extract the contents of these?
Does a PC take in less dust if its not on the floor?
Does anyone know any good, free, image recovery programs? My relatives are geniuses who keep formatting their SD cards after long vacations.

Probably a dumb question but, I'm getting a new hard drive along with another SATA cable and I want to move EVERYTHING from my green drive to the new HDD. Can I just drag and drop or will that cause a problem or can I just use other program (hard drive cloning, etc)

Yes, you can just drag/drop files from one HDD to the other without issues.

oh wait I misread that as only moving basic files and folders from your hard drive onto a newly installed HDD, not moving EVERYTHING

I don't know about less dust, but it would probably run cooler if it had some air room at the bottom.
I keep my computer on top of a cooling rack on top of a wooden shelf-table thing.

You'd have to manually install a bootloader (with Windows that's as easy as popping your Windows disc in, entering recovery console and typing "fixmbr"), but the files themselves should be drag-and-droppable.
Alternatively, you can just use a hard drive cloning program.
Yes, you can just drag/drop files from one HDD to the other without issues.
no, you need to clone the drive if you're moving windows and stuff, or programs. Some programs aren't going to like being moved to a new drive.

What hard drive cloning programs do you recommend, I was looking at Clonezilla
Right now I have a HAF 922, and I would like to be able to hide away the cables a little bit hetter and have more space, should I get a Define R3 or XL?
Also, how come the XL for example weighs 18 kg? I thought they tried making them atleast somewhat light
answer please

Go with Openbox as the WM.

yes
It'll run any game, not all on max settings though, most newer ones on mediumish assuming it's a 6770.
Remember long ago, (before garry nuked love advice) when there was a thread in this section about a super cheap online Japanese or Chinese store for gadgets and knockoff hardware? Does anyone remember the name of this store (or of the thread?).
thanks.
What's the best way of applying TIM to HDT coolers? My new 212+ isn't giving me the results I expected. I've done quite a bit of research but want to know from someone with personal experience.
Right now I'm idling at 40-45C on a 2500k 4GHz

Considering you're using the 212+ that's about right to be honest.
I idle at 35-40C on 4.2 w/ Venom.

idle temps don't mean a lot, load is what is important
http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/What-is-the-Best-Way-to-Apply-Thermal-Compound/1303/10
just use a drop somewhere between the size of a grain of rice and a pea, then install the cooler and let the pressure from the base spread it out
when screwing it in, do one corner then the diagonal opposite, and don't tighten them fully the first time but go around a second time tightening more, this helps keep the paste applied evenly and not squeezed out to one side
I needed to fill my time with something and as such last night I created a SandyBridge CPU overclocking flowchart.
http://i.imgur.com/xcCTe.png
It's meant to be taken on a basic level although I'm not exactly the best at organizing/naming it. It's roughly done but still a WIP. I can tell there are a few navigation problems, I know I'm also probably missing a few important easy to miss things. Is this information mostly correct so far? What should I correct, change or include? Should I scrap/redo/move on?

Host Clock Override (BCLK) by default is 100. Picture is from bios, not mine though.
I nudged it up to 105.00, booted, and came back to witness the processor now running at 3.8ghz (ASRock Extreme Tuner software).
And if I'm right, the i5-2500k is at 3.3ghz by default. Idle temps also jumped from ~32c to ~40c.
So, does this mean I just successfully overclocked for the first time? Should I overclock more? It also said that 110 value is the maximum for Host Clock Override (BCLK)..
