What are some good homebrew apps for the PSP? :buddy:
I don't play anything right now. Upcoming games like Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Deus Ex 3, and Hitman 5.
Battlefield 3 and Skyrim may suffer, all those games are running on new engines so I can't really say for certain
I imagine it wouldn't be that bad for those games
I need suggestions for a cheap (<$500) laptop, but more importantly:
Would you rather have a Radeon 6950 and a Vertex 3 or CrossFire Radeon 6950s?
Please rate this post:
a) Radeon 6950/Vertex 3 - agree
b) CF Radeon 6950s - disagree
Does Crossfire with Radeon HD 5770 really help with better framerate in games?

depends on what game, if it's something on the Source engine you'll be bottlenecked horribly
With most new games coming out right now, at max settings, I'm fairly sure he'll be bottlenecked more by his GPU, but of course it depends very much on what game it is.
I have a question here, my friend wants to upgrade his Celeron E3200 with a Q8300, and so I have checked around on his motherboard which says EG45M - acer in speccy. This happens to be a model number on a series of Gigabyte boards, and I guess that it could simply be a rebranded (with another BIOS, too, of course) Gigabyte board, which would mean that it supports core 2 quads (Might be locked down in the BIOS, I don't know). The things I could find about the Acer board matches up with the Gigabyte model, too, and it's a m-ATX and all. Would this be safe to assume? Help is much appreciated.
I got a problem, probably will make a thread on it later
Till about a week ago I get in-game freezes both brief and one that I have to jump to my desktop.
Weird thing is I can jump back into the game and it'll keep playing, sound/music will continue to play, flawless transition to desktop, nothing is distorted or slowdowns going between the game and the desktop.
The only things I have not tried other than the normal driver updates/fresh roll backs, running windows without any background programs, etc etc is completely reinstall the games, try them on a fresh copy of windows. I might try another game to see if it happens on that.
I've done GPU stress tests, especially furmarks burn-in for about 4 min, no problems. Tinkering with the nvidia control panels seems to change the rate at which the freezing happens. I'll probably make a thread after I exhausted all the options, maybe I missed something.

the games are MW2 and Minecraft, both of which were working before
HL1 doesn't get this problem
Try some other games first, and could you post temperatures?
Try some other games first, and could you post temperatures?
~43 C idle, I've gone to 80 C in the furmark test/ rendering videos

this is just me playing MW2
Shouldn't be a problem there, then..
How do I share a printer over the internet, I have 3 systems that can access the printer: Windows 7 Ultimate on two of them, and Windows XP Home on another. XP Home apparently doesn't have IPP server on it. The two other PCs I'd like to connect to the printer are supposed to be on the same network but they're using wireless and for some reason don't see any other PCs on the network but eachother. Probably because the router's a piece of crap.
what's the danger mark for GPUs? I like a nice silent rig so I keep the fan speed on my 5770 at about 39%, (you can hear the horrible whiny noise at 40% :ohdear:) and I've seen my temperatures get up to about 90c when playing Crysis 2
is this particularly bad? should I stop being an elitist and turn up my fan speed?
90's a little high but it's probably fine, make sure you clean its heatsink if you want it to run cool, and make sure you have good cable management so there's good airflow through your case to keep the ambient temps low, you might also want to consider removing and reapplying the heatsink all together, it drastically lowered temps for me when I did it on my 4850.
Will a 32gb SSD be enough for windows 7?
yeah
Ok, my media drive has corrupted it's Master File Table twice during the last week. Tried to write it full of zeroes and remake partitions now, giving "09-Sector #0-256::Write Zeros error!" error in the Western Digital's Data Lifeguard Diagnostics (their fancy naming for a drive utility pack).
Should I get a new one? It's only about 7 months old and still under warranty.
It's a 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue.
RMA it
Anyone hear any dates for when the MSI 580 Lightning XE will be available?
Is it possible to remove the monitor from a laptop and use it on a desktop?
Bassically remove laptop and turn the cables that come from it into VGA or something
Will a 32gb SSD be enough for windows 7?
Yes, 8 would be, even, but you'd have to be doing hardlinks (?) everywhere. You will want hardlink lots of stuff with that little space.
Will a 32gb SSD be enough for windows 7?
I wouldn't bother honestly, that will be all you can fit on it with all the temporary files and things
my Windows 7 installation takes up around 25 GB
I'm trying to reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit from a disc.. no matter what I try, it won't boot from the disc. I've set the boot order in BIOS and spammed F12 for boot options, but it always seems to instantly go back to HDD startup. No 'Press any key to boot from CD' or w/e.
Try starting the installer in Windows, and did you burn it? Try burning it at a slower speed.
Hey, anyone know why my iTunes re-opens itself about 4 times after I close it?
I really need a new non-apple mp3 player......
Try starting the installer in Windows, and did you burn it? Try burning it at a slower speed.
I ran it in windows and it brings up the installer. I also installed it in VirtualBox; it works fine there too.
And yeah, I burned it. I'll retry with a new disc.. Edit: Didn't change with a new disc.

Would it be at all possible for me to install it while in Windows? It doesn't make much sense to me, but I'm running out of ideas..

Yeah, I've done it before.
It now seems to be that the BIOS isn't saving my boot order.. I disabled everything but the CDROM and it still boots first with the HDD.
[editline]1st June 2011[/editline]
I meant that it saves my order between restarts, but doesn't actually apply it.

BIOS flashing time..
What's a good GPU to be found in a laptop?
Because I found a laptop with an ATi 6250 and I'm not sure if that's good enough to run TF2, Killing Floor, and Portal 2.

It will run pretty badly.
