of course why do people have this misconception that if you overclock something it's suddenly going to draw an extra 50000W
I just wanted to make sure, I'd rather not fry this computer. Now if I wanted to SLI in the future I would definitely need like a 750 or 800w correct?
I just wanted to make sure, I'd rather not fry this computer. Now if I wanted to SLI in the future I would definitely need like a 750 or 800w correct?
It would definitely be a good idea. But 650 will cover a single GPU just fine.

Similar questions to this have probably been asked billions of times, but I need a good answer. I have a HP laptop. It's fairly new 2011 notebook and it can run most source games at full settings and ARMA II at low settings. Is there any way to improve any aspect of my computer, performance wise? I'm getting Red Orchestra 2 and I want more processing power and a new video card, but I'm not sure how to modify my laptop's components, or even If I can. Could you guys give me some advice? Sometimes it's possible to get a new CPU, but they often cost far far more than it's worth and you should just build a desktop PC for gaming.
Thank you guys for your input. I suppose I should save up some money for a desktop, but I really need a new car soon. Plus I just got this laptop for christmas, and It looks bad to turn around and get a new computer a year later.
How about no, NFS or Samba.
Neither of those two work on my network.
Is there a better pdf reader for android 2.3.3 than adobes?
What PSU would you guys suggest for a small-budget LAN-going mATX PC? It can fit an ATX PSU though. Using i5-2500k/6870. [editline]13th September 2011[/editline] Also I really need someone to help me pick out a monitor. Looking at this. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/215-asus-vh222t-black-widescreen-monitor-5ms-1920x1080-200001-300cd-m-speakers-1080p I know you guys will suggest ultrasharps, but they're out of my budget. And their response rate is too high anyway.
I have a DROID now, and I need a proper software keyboard, the default one isn't that great. I'd prefer one that's full size or something or maybe configurable, I hate having to press the number key for numbers or whatever this is, and not having a shift on both sides bothers me a bit. [editline]13th September 2011[/editline] DROID x* [editline]13th September 2011[/editline] Also it would be noce if it were thinner in lansscape or maybe translucent a bit so that it doesn't block 90% of the acreen, although I appear to be getting quite good with this keyboard already, learning all the tricks and stuff. Love this phone compared to mu OG droid. The more I use this keyboard the less I'm minding it, although the pinctuation is a bit hard to get uaed to, so I'm still taking suggestions!
What are those things called that let you replace the mouse input with a pen and a slate/pad/thing? They are used for drawing.
What are those things called that let you replace the mouse input with a pen and a slate/pad/thing? They are used for drawing.
A tablet?
A tablet?
Thats it, thanks.
Does anyone have any experience with Hetzner Online AG? I'm thinking about ordering a VPS there: http://www.hetzner.de/en/hosting/produkte_vserver/vq12 Because I couldn't find any place more fitting to post. There doesn't seem to be any active VPS threads and web development questions is mostly code
Neither of those two work on my network.
I don't see how that's possible unless you're blocking traffic in your network by port or layer 7 filtering.
has anyone installed an OS using a bootable USB drive? If so, could you guide me through the process please? Thanks
I installed the Age of Empires: Rise of Rome Trial and now my fonts are fucked up, any ideas? [editline]ö[/editline] Fixed it, in case anyone finds this posts in the future with the same problem, I fixed it by installing Windows 7 to a Virtual Computer and then copying the fonts folder from the virtual Windows 7 to the "real" Windows 7.
Recommend me a laptop for less than £350 that is a good all rounder? (not too fussed about games, maybe minecraft and the like) pwettyplease
Recommend me a laptop for less than £350 that is a good all rounder? (not too fussed about games, maybe minecraft and the like) pwettyplease
If you go up to £400 you can get an i5 rather an i3, can you?
If you go up to £400 you can get an i5 rather an i3, can you?
For a laptop used for every day things is there really that much between the two in regards to performance?
Can any fan fit any computer?
Can any fan fit any computer?
A CPU fan+heatsink has to fit the motherboard socket, and a case fan has to fit the size of case fans allowed by the particular case
Can any fan fit any computer?
*snip* Alcapwne said what I said but better
So, I just got my GTX 275 in and as you all know it eats power. Draws 219 by itself. I've currently got a 430 in my build and need to figure out a good power supply for this thing.
I don't see how that's possible unless you're blocking traffic in your network by port or layer 7 filtering.
I'm not. In fact, traffic within the LAN is left alone - everything is up to the computers on the network. None of my Windows computers can properly serve Samba anymore, and in fact the only one that ever could was my desktop...back when it was on XP. And Linux has trouble with being a Samba client, so I don't feel comfortable with it serving. NFS is just a broken piece of shit.
A CPU fan+heatsink has to fit the motherboard socket, and a case fan has to fit the size of case fans allowed by the particular case
Well, my case is fucked and I'm guessing my fan is too, would it just be better getting a new case then transferring the components to that then ordering the fan online?
I'm gonna get an i5 2500k and p67 board, what's a good GPU to get to pair with it? I've dealt with bottlenecking for years and it's driving me up the wall. Thinking maybe 560 Ti level or above? Also, do third party heatsinks come with thermal paste pre-applied? I'm afraid of messing it up as its the only stage that isin't just slotting in components.

Hm. I'm running Windows 7, and the little icon hover-over effect where it glows stays even after I take my mouse off of it. What can I do? [editline]13th September 2011[/editline] Also, this happens...
