Oh yikes. Then what's a good mobile GPU?
same as a desktop GPU with an m at the end?

Does using onboard graphics on Sandy Bridge increase the heat the CPU puts out?

Yes, 8 would be, even, but you'd have to be doing hardlinks (?) everywhere. You will want hardlink lots of stuff with that little space.
How do I hard link files/directories?
How do I hard link files/directories?
Easiest way is to install this: http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/hardlinkshellext.html
It adds an option or two to the context menu. You can right-click-drag a file/folder to another location and select "Hard link" or something similar in the menu that appears when you drop it.
Or you right-click on the file/folder and select "pick link source" and "drop link here" (or something like that) in an empty area in another folder.
If you don't want to install anything, you can look up using mklink.exe -- it should be included in Vista and 7.
I feel like an idiot for not knowing this... I was thinking of getting a second hard drive, for basically keeping images/games. I'm not exactly sure on how to go about this, and if its a safe bet, or should I go with option two, and just put copies of items on some usb drives.
ok when reapplying thermal paste should I put it on the heatsink or the cpu? and could I spread it myself of let it spread itself?

I personally keep my images and documents and stuff on my Dropbox.
Movies and other stuff like that, I have on an external second harddrive. I'm using a WD Elements 1,5 TB.

on the CPU, let it spread itself - only put a small amount. A line about the size of a grain of rice usually will do.

Well I did recently get Dropbox, thanks for the tip.

context? I'm assuming it's a torrent application and the downloaded amount is bigger than the size of the files, this is due to overhead or failed MD5 checks (so they have to redownload a part sometimes). I might be using the wrong terms but that's essentially it.
Oh, by the way, carrying on from my many topics before hand regarding upgrades... $2,000 adventure tommorow at a computer store.

I recently upgraded my video card too a GTX 560[loving it sooooo much right now] anyone got any idea what I should do? Intel, AMD, and PSU related? Also, I'm totally getting the HAF 932 I've been looking at for awhile!
560 TI or 560?
560 TI or 560?
560 TI'
And obviously get an i5 2500kand a p67(or z68) motherboard, for the PSU you'll want to get an Antec or Corsair, their prices aren't that great, 650W should be fine, maybe 750W if you're going to SLI 560s in the future.
What's a good GPU to be found in a laptop?
Because I found a laptop with an ATi 6250 and I'm not sure if that's good enough to run TF2, Killing Floor, and Portal 2.
6xxx is the generation. Includes the features and the hardware functions
x2xx is the performance level in the generation. <4 is low end, HTPC, low power.
xx5x is usually a small difference in performance but a larger difference in price.
You have a Current generation chip basically designs for the most basic media functions.
ok when reapplying thermal paste should I put it on the heatsink or the cpu? and could I spread it myself of let it spread itself?
I place it on the CPU to make sure it's starting out in the middle. The heatsink should spread it out when it's properly secured. Like others have said, if it's a good paste a BB or a grain of rice is perfect. any more and it might spread on to the sides of the heatspreader making a mess.
What's the easiest/ cheapest way to get a third monitor hooked up?
I have a GTX 460 with 2 DVI ports.
How do i know what hardware is good and powerful and all that stuff?
I installed Windows 7 64bit Home Premium and now my Creative SB X-Fi sound card does not work like it did on Vista 32bit.
What do
None of the drivers on Creative's website work, the installer always says that no device is detected.

Wouldn't it screw up if, after a reboot during the install process, it doesn't know to start back up with the install disc?
whats up with this shit?
my umm.. the nvidia popped an announcement that new drivers are available. clicked the pop-up, it directed me to the nvidia driver download page and I downloaded. So obviously the drivers fit for my card, the drivers fit for 64bit win7 etc, no problem with that.
But after I had installed them, Windows said "these things didn't necessarily install right" or something, even though the driver installer went fine. So it had two options "install again using something blablabla" or "they did install right" so I clicked the latter and..
I think it's fine but, a penny for your thoughts Please.
Whatever that message is based on, it's NEVER been true for me. I wouldn't think too much of it if I were you.
Wouldn't it screw up if, after a reboot during the install process, it doesn't know to start back up with the install disc?
During installation, after the restart, you don't boot onto the disc. You boot onto the hard drive, where the installation finishes.

you answered your own question
Snip due to bad wording.
Quick question why would a hp w1858 monitor not work in non-safe mode but in safe mode and other operating systems work. Another detail is that my other monitor happens to work in non-safe mode.
so many negatives confuses me
HP monitor only works in safe mode and other OSes, other monitor works in normal mode, too.
I assume it just doesn't support the resolution you have set in nonsafe mode, and safemode defaults to a lower one so it works (doesn't it?)
