Re-install your old drivers.

But they were pretty damn old, and I have no clue which version they were.
The drivers I have now is that NVIDIA Battlefield 3 beta driver.

My computer just died, (shut itself off and wont start again, no bios screen or anything, just doesn't start) most likely due to the psu, i have no other rig to test the psu on, nor another psu to check my other components are. I presume that there are no other ways of testing whether or not the psu is dead, or am i wrong?

Well, unless I'm misunderstanding, it could be the connection between the power button and the motherboard. You could try unplugging it and touching the two pins together.
I'll give it a shot, thanks.
I bought Transformers 3 on blu-ray, but it does not play on my laptop. I tried Tron on Blu-ray and it plays nicely on my laptop. Tried TF3 on my actual blu-ray player that's hooked up to my tv and it plays. And ideas why its not playing on my laptop?
nope, same thing, the gpu fan spins for not even half a second, nothing boots up
god dammit

It is actually the amount of how many monitors you can plug in it.

I fucking wish.
i5 2500k is going to be leaps better than even AMD's most expensive AM3+ CPUs for gaming, and I'm betting for most other applications as well. Don't get caught up with big numbers.
Based on what?

Games only use four cores max (with exceptions but to a lesser degree) at the minute and it's doubtful AMD can compete per core with intel.

Well now I know which proc to get...
As far as CPU coolers go, Hyper 212+ vs. Hyper N 520 ?
Is the Hyper N worth the extra $17?
Or is there a better one for the sub-$50 market?

Games use the amount of cores you have if they haven't been programmed up the ass.

What processor? A hyper 212+ should be more than enough a normal overclock, if it's something like a 2500k then just get a 212+/212 Evo or that new one cooler master released that Satanix has been seen making love to.

There are exceptions but they won't use more than four properly.

It's a 2500k. I still have a stock cooler, and I figured I should get a better one and overclock now that my rebate money is coming.
Get one of the new coolermasters or if they haven't been released yet and you don't want to wait, a Hyper 212+, a 212+ will get you to 4.5ghz comfortably and less comfortably to 5ghz, and 4.5 is more than you'll need.
You can always get another fan for push/pull on the 212+, not sure if it comes with brackets for another fan but you could use cable ties.
Well geez, if that's the case why does AMD even try?
They're still a great value, and their FM2 processors might be great. Who knows.

The EVO is in stock. I see that it comes with thermal paste, but should I buy some Arctic Silver or will Coolermaster's be fine?

I hope bulldozer (the 4/6 core ones) replace the current PII X4's for people on that budget, the problem they're going to have is sandy bridge's are so well priced it's going to be hard to top it.
ahh I didn't read enough to know you guys were talking about gaming performance. My bad.

They package it with good paste.

9500 GT or GT 430?
9500 GT or GT 430?
I'd go with the GT 430. Has Dx11 and is overall faster really.
