Best 120GB SSD <$200?
Cheap but good SSD with >35Gb space. Budget is 150, but I'd rather not go above 100 if it's possible.
The above requirements are seperat, so if you guys/gals can find two drives that fit each requirement, that would be great.

Would a blu-ray player be a good buy?
Basically is it's quality over dvd worth the money?

depends on how much you're paying, however the difference between Blu-ray and DVD is immense
What Linux distro should I stick on an old laptop? It's a couple of years old, Pentium dual core something with 3 GB RAM, and I want battery power above all else.

I always liked arch with Crunchbang as my second favorite. Arch will take a while but is not hard as long as you are not afraid of typing. while Crunchbang installs easier. I have not clue if Crunchbang is as good now because I have not used it in a while.
Anyone know a good, reliable headset with mic that is suitable for gaming and comfortable. Also it has to be within a decent price range, nothing like $100 or more. Probably wont be any great ones for that price but hopefully there will be.
My last headset was a Plantronic 367 and the sound works fine but the mic just randomly stopped working if anyone knows anything about the 367 and could give any pointers that would be good too, I personally found the headset great for it's price of $40 beside the whole mic not working thing.
Edit: I've heard a bit about the Siberia Steelseries v2 Headset. Just wondering if any of you have one of have used one and would recommend, as it's what I'm leaning towards at the moment.

Try hitting up Logitech's site, I've been buy a lot of their products and have never had a problem with them.
Yeh, I heard the Logitech G35 is a good choice so I'm looking at that and the Siberia.

Is it possible to connect a laptop to a PC and get an internet connection on the PC?
depends on how much you're paying, however the difference between Blu-ray and DVD is immense
I see.
I don't really want to pay more than $75, unless you have to for a good player. Could you recommend a good one to me?
I'm bad with the older CPUs and GPU's, would a HD 5450 stock bottleneck a Pentium 4, or vice versa? Unsure which edition, but it's @ 3.2 Ghz.

looks good, fastest speed you can get, cheapest drive there is and supports LightScribe

If the graphics card is worse than a 9500gt like some benchmarks say, then the gpu is the bottleneck.
Is it possible to connect a laptop to a PC and get an internet connection on the PC?
Yeah you just need an ethernet cable to connect them and make a network bridge on the laptop.
Anyone got any good programs that can losslessly compress images? I'm currently using BIMP Lite, and it works fairly well, but it's a little bit dated (latest version was released in '07, I believe) and doesn't always crunch file sizes down as much as I'd like it to.
[editline]4 hours and 8000 kilobytes later...[/editline]
I just tried OptiPNG (with OptiPNG-UI), but it still couldn't beat BIMP Lite, even though it's newer and pretty much dedicated to losslessly reducing PNG file size. :pwn:

Plug and Ethernet cables into the laptop and PC and go into the laptops network connections page. A quick way for this is to open run(windows key+r) and type in "control netconnections. Right click on the wireles card's icon and hit Properties. Clcik on the sharing tab and check off the first box, it shold say "Allow other network users to connect through this computers Internet connection."

I'm doing it for this machine, it's worked better for me than bridges.
Ok, so battlefield 3 is running horrible on my E8500@3.6Ghz on the caspian border map. Whatever I try in the graphics settings it doesnt increase fps leading me to believe it is caused by the cpu.
A little test shows im right.

Now I am currently saving up for a trip to australia so I dont really have the money to spare to get a good upgrade like:
(new mobo and an i5-2500k).
Until then im planning on getting a q9550 for 100€ to go with my AMD 6950GPU.
Does annyone have any experience with this CPU running BF3? Or any idea if it is gonna be any better?
Specs.
CPU:E8500 2x3.16Ghz (@3.6).
RAM:4gb DDR3.
MOBO:Intel extreme dp45sg.
GPU:AMD 6950 1GB.
PSU:500w be quiet. <-- yes this is a quality PSU, though an unknown brand.
Something rather strange happened, while I was just surfing like Facepunch, my mouse and keyboard just jammed.
Both have some lights and this keyboard has lights on every button, and when they jammed the lights went on and off, like flickering but not so fast, and neither mouse nor keyboard worked. So I shut down the PC with the normal on-switch and back on and frankly, it worked again obviously.
So what's up with that? Got win7 64bit solid specs. Mouse and keyboard are not wireless either.
Ok, ive got some major issues with my pc right now.
Basically a while ago it started just turning off out of nowhere after a few hours and not switching on for another 5-10 minutes until every time i booted up a game or something cpu intensive it would just die.
I poked around inside and got rid of the majority of dust in all the fans and around the case. It still kept dying. until today i removed the heat sink and cleared off the thermal residue from both the cpu and the sink, now my computer case buzzes and fizzes (which ive got a feeling is something to do with the power) and it still shuts down when i try to boot anything more intense than the internet browser or music player.
I'm not experienced with hardware at all and completely at a loss of what to do. HALP.

You removed the thermal paste without putting new on?
Its meant to be there? it just looked like dust, i literally just wiped of with a dry cotton bud.
my heat sink has a pad anyway plus i don't think thats the issue, starting to think the CPU is fried.
If my PC has a 500 watt power supply, would it be enough for a 5770?
If my PC has a 500 watt power supply, would it be enough for a 5770?
yes, even a 500w PSU of questionable quality should power a 5770 just fine.

Sounds like it's overheating, did you really wipe off the thermal compound? You're going to need to get new compound and reapply it. Electronics stores usually carry it.
[editline]7th October 2011[/editline]
also you should at least know your basic specs imo, GPU, CPU, RAM and you should be able to open your PC and look at the PSU.
