Asking again since it's been a few hundred posts. What's the easiest/ cheapest way to get a third monitor hooked up? I currently have a GTX 460 with 2 DVI ports.
Buy a really cheap nvidia card (i saw an 8800 on ebay for 20 once) and run it as a physx slave then connect the 3rd monitor to that. [sp]No idea if that would actually work, just a thought[/sp]
Snip, Broke something, piece of shit is too old
Gah, I put the core Arch iso in my flash drive with unetbootin (I would've just dd'ed it in if I had any linux machine available) and my 945GZM doesn't want to boot from it (It's not even listed under hard drives), even though my P67A-UD3 can boot from it fine. I've had this happen before, but only with the windows version of unetbootin. Could anyone recommend any other program to make a linux live usb for windows?

Can someone help me out here? I'm trying to add a Western Digital Caviar Black as a 2nd Harddrive, and I was wondering if anyone can just give me a quick, "this is how you do it" because I'm getting a huge headache trying to figure it out.

[sp]No idea if that would actually work, just a thought[/sp]
Looked into it and apparently it will work (although the second card won't work as a PhysX slave if it's being used with a monitor.) Thanks, now I just need to find a cheap card.

Does this mean I formatted wrong somewhere?
I got it too the point, but when I restarted it stated nlstdr is missing. Does this mean I formatted wrong somewhere?
Have you used the drive before? Then you maybe need to mess with boot order after all. Put the drive you boot from before that drive in the BIOS.
The new drive is new heh' If I have to reboot through bios what should I be looking for in the drive menu?
Is Spyware Doctor any good and is 26% disk fragmentation a lot?
The new drive is new heh' If I have to reboot through bios what should I be looking for in the drive menu?
Boot priority.
Alright, I'll go ahead, and give it a try. Be right back.
is there anything worth backuping in program files before a reinstall?
is there anything worth backuping in program files before a reinstall?
Not really. Maybe just make a list of your programs and backup that.
righty then. the big question is still how i'm going to partition it for easy reinstallation & such, changing user directories and all that stuff, is it really complicated?
I don't think it is, you should just be able to right click your user directories, like My Documents and choose where it should be located.
uh nope, seems more complicated than that. eh i'll just use one partition

If you guys would post what laptop manufacturers you prefer, I'd really appreciate it.

So I've been trying to rip the season one disk of The Simpsons onto my computer with handbrake but it is fucking up. How can I fix this? Is there a better DVD ripper out there? If so, I'd like it to be able to export so it can be played on my phone (htc Inspire)
about 3GBPS
What is so special about Sandybridge, why is an i5 so much better then a Phenom X4? Does Sandybridge support whatever 6GBPS is?
It's a newer generation, Phenom II X4's are still good for the money, but it's behind a generation.
