5770 CF is normally within a few frames of a GTX 470, seems you're just expecting too much
Really? Definitely expecting too much then.
OEM windows can be installed on two computers, just not at the same time right? It's kind of like DRM for games were I'd have to unregister the copy on one HDD and then re register it on the HDD
So my graphics card only has 2 DVI ports and my CRT of course has D-subs, I have an old DVI-to-VGA converter that I tried using, it works, but the picture on the CRT looks dim and fuzzy. However, when I hook up my CRT to my older rig(with a raw VGA port) it looks fine, so it must be the adapter causing a loss in quality. Do all adapters do this? or is my adapter just shitty? [editline]7th November 2011[/editline] Also might I add, I was using an adapter that came with my old 7600gt, manufactured by XFX, which appeared fine when used by my old CRT, on my old PC, but when used on my new PC(560ti) it fucks the quality.
are you sure it's not just a resolution or maybe refresh rate issue?
are you sure it's not just a resolution or maybe refresh rate issue?
Tried at 60, 85, 120hz, no change in sharpness/brightness. Tried at 1600x1200 (recommended resolution) aswell as 1024x768 and 800x600. I have a feeling it was the adapter, I just went searching and found the DVI-VGA adapter in my 560ti box, gonna try that and hopefully will solve the issue.
adjust the monitor's settings? durr
SB mode brightens it up quite a bit, but I'm worried I might be compromising its lifetime by using it [editline]7th November 2011[/editline] New adapter seems to have improved the blurriness [editline]7th November 2011[/editline]
adjust the monitor's settings? durr
Ya I totally never tried that, thanks for the sarcastic answer [editline]7th November 2011[/editline] All appears fine after some tweaking coupled with the new adapter, thanks to those who helped.

Is it good or something ? Thank's !
Anyone know of anything that will record my webcam and Minecraft at the same time?
You can use Camtasia to record your webcam while you record Minecraft with fraps. [editline]8th November 2011[/editline] Also, this question may sound fucking retarded but...What sort of cooling for a PC system would I need for a desk drawer (No shuttle case or anything, just bare motherboard and components), no expense spared, whether that be a liquid cooling system or some beefy fans and heatsinks.

http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=12947429 Any thoughts on this? Anything incredibly wrong with my choices? I'm not looking for anything intense, but it's about time I upgrade(basically a new computer aside from a few things I already have) and I don't want to have to upgrade again soon, but I don't want to spend too much. If there's something I'm doing you advise against, or something you'd change, all comments are appreciated. Mind you I don't know too much, so I picked these out to the best of my abilities. I think I'll be sticking to the 2500k in the least.

So a storm came through today and now my internet speed is 168/36 Kbps. How long should it take for it to return to normal?

And I'd like to stick as close I can to $600. Cheaper would be great, but I don't think I can do that without cutting corners.
Does anyone know where I can buy wings for servers, and switches?
So I came up with this. [img_thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/31307205/league/wishlist.png[/img_thumb] Is it a good -budget- build? I really dislike how much hdds are now but what can you do. And since I'm going to be ordering these parts on (most likely), Black Friday, will I get a cheaper price for them/ how much do you guys think I'll get off? I'm trying to limit myself price-wise. I'd also like to transfer all of the data from this hdd to my new one though, what kind of cable/ device would I use for that? I want to transfer everything if possible, I can get win7 myself.
wishlist is empty [editline]8th November 2011[/editline] 1,700th post WOOO
What the hell? Hold on. edit: whatever i edited my original post with the image of the list.
Uh, I'd say wait until HDD prices go down again. F3's are £140, not fun. FYI that's £100 more than it was before

I'm not quite sure on the second one because I hear that HIS cards tend to be more reliable than Sapphire. Unless you plan on doing a lot of heavy picture or video editing, you only need 4GB RAM. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161389 [editline]8th November 2011[/editline] Of course don't just take my word for it, a second opinion would be nice.

And I'm minoring in Graphic Design, so I need all the RAM I can get. :< edit: I can't add the combo to my wishlist but it seems this will cost more than my original build. Will the prices for these items go down for Black Friday?
Then go for this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231424 [editline]8th November 2011[/editline] I'm fully expecting someone like Odellus to come in and say "napalm you're a moron"
I'm open to any and all suggestions (I'm not new to upgrading but completely new to building computers), so I'm looking at a maximum priceline of $800-$850. (Which I've hit but if it's possible that I can go lower that'd be amazing. If not, this is still great.)
Unless you plan on doing a lot of heavy picture or video editing, you only need 4GB RAM.
Last I checked, RAM is so cheap it hardly makes a difference. -snip slowpunch-

Does anybody have any tips or guides for how to properly calibrate your monitor?
