Anyone know how to use nvidia's nTune? I tried using the auto tune on it to overclock my 9500 gt and it crashed my PC and would only allow me to boot in safe mode, had to do system restore.
What's a good desktop mic? My last headset broke, so I got some normal headphones and this thing. Very surprisingly (sarcasm) it's horrible. I was going to get the Logitech USB desk mic but I found out that it doesn't work on Windows 7 64bit.
I could get the snowball, but I think spending $65 on a mic that I'm just going to use in TS3 is a bit much. It'd also really help if it could pick up my voice from ~3 feet away.
What's the best codec for virtualdub?
I've always liked Xvid.
Pepper;33329820']why 16GB of ddr3?
Unless you're using it for heavy editing, heavy compiling, VMs or heavy rendering you won't need it.
16Gb is only $80 why not go for it? Also then I can turnoff virtual memory which will speed up my system.
I got contacted by a company to fix their 7 HP dv2500 laptops, all of em have trojans and he wants me to put win7 on them, simple enough.
I was looking around at what local PC places charge for shit like that and it's about $100 usually.
I'm thinking 75-85 per computer is reasonable in comparison. What do you guys think?

do a solid number like $70 or $80, it's just a more attractive way of charging people.

You shouldn't use nTune. At all.
What should I use then?
I mean as in you shouldn't use nTune to do it automatically for you. Do it manually really.

Go mic, better and cheaper, and it's also not a stupid huge ball. You can clip it on anything that's about the width of a laptop lid, possibly your monitor if it's really thin.
Audio Technica also has a pretty cheap USB mic but I can't find it right now.

Do not let automatic stuff do it for you!
I used the AMD-s CCC-s automatic OverDrive thingy. It went to 680 (From 600) and 480(From 400)
It gave me articificats and shitty stability.
back to stock clocks. Got MSI Afterburner, set up a custom fan speed thingy and put clocks to 640/440. Works fine, no problems etc. I can go a bit higher too if I want to, but it fucks up the signal for one of my monitors sadly.
Im having trouble controlling my fan speeds, i have one spinning at 2000rpm and it sounds like hell and i wanna slow it down when im idle.

If your fan has adjustable speeds then look for the knob on it and if it doesnt have one you might need a fan controller.

It does have a fan controller but i have nowhere to place it, can't i change the speed on the computer?

Not sure if there is a program on windows but you can always download some program, Nvidias nTune has fan controllers on it.

Why wouldn't you want smooth scrolling enabled in Firefox? It was off by default when I installed it on my laptop.
I have that, I was hoping to get an upgrade
Well, there's the G400.
since my thread in PC Building got no attention I'll ask here
I scored 8GB of RAM from work today because we upgraded to 16GB and they let us keep our old RAM, so unfortunately it's DDR3 and I have an AM2 processor so I can't use it
Now, question, when I upgrade should I get a Phenom X6 or X4? i5 isn't quite in my price range, especially if I need a new motherboard to support DDR3 (not sure if it's motherboard specific as well).
