I have that, I was hoping to get an upgrade
only upgrade to that is a xai or g9x, get another
since my thread in PC Building got no attention I'll ask here
I scored 8GB of RAM from work today because we upgraded to 16GB and they let us keep our old RAM, so unfortunately it's DDR3 and I have an AM2 processor so I can't use it
Now, question, when I upgrade should I get a Phenom X6 or X4? i5 isn't quite in my price range, especially if I need a new motherboard to support DDR3 (not sure if it's motherboard specific as well).
you need a new motherboard if the one you're using doesn't support DDR3, processor is irrelevant
save up and go for ivy/sandy bridge
http://www.anandtech.com/show/4083/the-sandy-bridge-review-intel-core-i7-2600k-i5-2500k-core-i3-2100-tested/20
that alone justifies an i5, I'll probably look into that
it's only like $40 more and that $40 will go a long way into the future
yeah, I can't wait to get my 2500k come Christmas
going to be a massive upgrade from my Q9400, won't take me 3 hours to render 5 minutes of 720p60 uncompressed anymore and the nice FPS boost doesn't hurt either
I have a HD 5770.
I want to Crossfire that shit.
Cannot find any 5770's for sale.
Can I crossfire that shit with another card of the 5000 series?

57** series
57** series
Any of them?
Any of them?
yes
yes
Alright, but apparently they don't exist in Sweden anymore or something. Either that or I'm not looking hard enough, I'll need a graphics card with a lot of memory to run BF3. (Saving up for a real good upgrade until next year, gonna upgrade CPU/motherboard and hopefully graphics card as my 5770 aint gonna cut it).
And I almost forgot, thanks for the info. Much appreciated.
The 6770 is the 5770 with Blu-ray decoding support. If you can find one of those they will be fine to crossfire with a 5770.

Something odd is going on with my video card in skyrim.

With that amount of GPU usage, I should be at maximum clocks. But the card is staying at 2d speeds.
My max clocks are 750/1200
Actually, at closer inspection, it appears that my clock speeds don't change at all from 400/900.
IIRC that's not true at all
I know the 6850 is not a 5850 with DX11, it's actually more midrange and a 5850 is high end

except the 6770 and 6750 are just rebranded 5770/5750s
http://www.anandtech.com/show/4296/amds-radeon-hd-6770-radeon-hd-6750-the-retail-radeon-5700-rebadge
and according to AMD they are compatible, but possibly will only work with the 6770 as the main card as the chart only confirms 6770 with 5770, and nothing for 5770 with 6770

and of course you know that a 6850 isn't a 5850+DX11 because the 5850 was already a DX11 card

Anyone have any tips on changing a keyboard key, such as caps lock, to function as a left mouse click? My mouse is loud as fuck, I can't find a decent quiet one, and I never use my caps lock. Also, no luck in looking through the registry manually

I used KeyTweak to change my caps lock to rctrl. Works really well.

Except none of the half-dozen or so I've looked at have clicking as a new function, which leads me to believe that it's not actually a thing

I'm not actually sure if that is possible. When I was looking for a button changing software to change my capslock to mouse4/5/6 etc, I found nothing. It might be something to do with how the mouse and keyboard coding is done.
I've found this, but I'm not sure it will act exactly like you want.

It tends to be laggy in certain situations.

It's a nifty emulator, and it's probably the single worst UI I've ever used. At least it means it isn't as easy as changing a registry key. Oh the joy of trying to solve a simple problem

This is my current computer. With Christmas coming up, I figure it's as good of a time as any to look into some upgrades. Any ideas? FYI The GPU is a Radeon 6770
Maybe a 560? Either that or a new mobo and a 2500k.
Or if you're looking for a cheap upgrade, another 4 gigs of ram?

I'm expecting somewhere around $300 this year, so I might do those all if they run under $300
I'd get a 560Ti and general bits and bobs for your PC, like a BD drive or something.

BD drives are useless. All that you can get on BD discs are films and you can't watch those because of DRM.
As for backups (if it wasn't for the Thailand floods), a 2tb hard drive is cheaper.
art this motherboard good for an i5 build
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130574
with the discount and MIR it costs about what I was looking at when I was looking at a Bulldozer build (which means bulldozer is really overpriced shit)

AutoHotKey.
CapsLock::Lbutton
http://filesmelt.com/dl/capslock.exe
You could also download it yourself and set it to another button, these are the key names. Just put in:
keyyouwant::Lbutton
And run it in the background.

you could get the asrock Z68 extreme3 for less and still have a perfectly capable mobo
If your max speed was 10 megabit for example and you were doing nothing except downloading something at that speed, what would happen if you'd start downloading 2 things? Would they each go about 5mbit or does it work in a different way
