I'm looking for a 200+ GB External HDD, My budget is from £30-£50, Preferably orderable in the UK.
So what motherboard should I get if I'm going with the i5-2500k? Any recommendations?
Also RAM, I'm not sure what brands are/aren't good.
This depends on your budget, I went with a higher-end P67, ASRock P67 Extreme 6 on newegg. Its a highend board thats on sale at newegg.
It overclocks well, has plenty of ports, good reviews, good power regulators, and at the current price great value. Its $55 off right now, it should be here Saturday; get upgrading on Sunday.
i5 2500k
some z68 motherboard
4-8 GB of RAM depending on your preference
GTX 560 Ti
You know, the usual stuff.
Thank you. Also should I switch to windows 7?
One word: YES
My PS3/360 won't find my PC as a media server. I want to stream some movies/music but my PC is being an ass. All of the media sharing shit is on and open. It's Windows 7 Ultimate. How can I fix this.

Screws in the middle?
Thank you. Also should I switch to windows 7?
If you can't afford a full upgrade yet, just get a new GPU, will give you the best performance upgrade for your money.
Screws in the middle?
I meant one screw, you know so i can tight it
I meant one screw, you know so i can tight it
It should only have four screws, one in each corner.
Or is this a CPU cooler or something?

You should go for a z68 motherboard if your budget allows you to. The AsRock Extreme3 gen3 is a very popular choice for the amount of features you get with the price tag.

COOLERMASTER HYPER TX-3 CPU COOLER

You're gonna want a 650w if you don't plan on SLIing in the future, but a good 750w if you do.
For the 650w route, this is a damn great deal, though it is a holiday one so it may go fast. Quality PSU, rather cheap for the quality.

If you want the 750w, go with this one

Again, a great price for the performance, plus Corsair is highly trusted/recommended.
Is isn't modular though, if you are particular about that.

thankyou for that.
also Newegg doesn't ship to australia but ohhhhhh they're sooooo CHEAP! :gurgle:
Can't decide which CPU I want. I plan on overclocking it, but is there a huge difference between 3.2GHz and 3.5GHz?

Sorry, I didn't notice the flag. See if you can get the same items from a site there for around the same price.

Since you're overclocking just get the 955, no use paying for 3.5 over 3.2 if overclocking.
So I just bought this laptop. Do you guys think it will run all the new games? I don't really care if it's in high quality graphics, but is it good enough?

What would have been a good enough laptop under $500 for that kind of stuff?

Would any one of these be a better choice?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215191
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834101260

Which one is the best out of those three? And is it possible to cancel orders on newegg?
Any good, small laptops for under 1000€?
I was first thinking about getting the Asus Transformer Prime, but then I thought that a Windows laptop would be quite nice too.
Doesn't need to be that powerful, some basic games like DEFCON or Half-Life 1 would be nice though.
So I just took out my heat sink, which is glued to my cpu, and I was cleaning it for dust. I spent about an hour quintaseptahexatuple checking that the pins were in the right place, because when I went to put it back in, some were a little bent, but with extreme care and time I got them all straight and I put it back in and it is so much more god damn quiet and I love it
Next time I am buying a can of compressed air
Oh wow. I went to fry's an hour ago and there were so many scrubs buying AMD procs.
Well I wouldn't blame them I guess... they didn't have any i5 2500k's, only 2600k i7's. So I bought the HAF 922 there since newegg has better customer service and motherboards and crap, plus I didn't have to pay shipping.
Came back from fry's.. 16gb corsairs were out but I still managed to pick up hyperx 8gb for 20bucks.
I am also finalizing my build so will these do?

Wow all the i5s for 199 on newegg are GONE. Fuck.
Do you need GTA 4 in order to play The Episodes From Liberty City?
As it's $7 on steam and I already have the original GTA 4 on console.

No. They're both standalone packages (which sucks because each game takes up to 15GB).
