no lol
you kidding bro most onboard sound cards sound really flat and canny compared to dedicated ones. [editline]30th November 2011[/editline] but you are not gonna hear any difference unless you have a nice setup or a pair of good headphones or high quality music
If you do an in-place upgrade install, it will (attempt) to keep your user files, but it will not reuse system files from the previous install. A clean upgrade wont use any files from the previous install.
I mean from booting from the disc. And by files I mean like, drivers and shit.

[editline]30th November 2011[/editline] but you are not gonna hear any difference unless you have a nice setup or a pair of good headphones or high quality music
a700s realtek vs x-fi 320 kbps mp3/flac no difference other than eq/crystalizer sound cards don't make a difference because their onboard amps are too weak to power high impedance headphones and obviously low impedance headphones wouldn't gain anyway
I need a laptop upgrade. I'll be coming into about £600 pounds at the start of next year so whats the best laptop i can get for around £600-£700?
I'm in the market for a mousepad. I want it to be huge. Durability is all I really care about, and I'm thinking of trying a hard one instead of a soft one. I'd prefer if it was plain looking, ricer crap isn't something I like. [editline]30th November 2011[/editline] I have a g500, and I'm hoping for it to be on Amazon.
Xtrac Pads RipperXXL. I own 2 of them. They are about 1.5feet by 3 feet. Get it

[editline]30th November 2011[/editline] but you are not gonna hear any difference unless you have a nice setup or a pair of good headphones or high quality music
It's a placebo, dedicated sound processing is only useful for the extra ports, the better drivers and the sometimes superior amps (my realtek appears to have a headphone amp so I don't know). The sound is exactly the same, it's all the same maths on the digital end and all DACs are the same at this level anyway.
Is 5.69MB too large for a GIF for usage in a web page, generally speaking?
My "w" key is sticking, and as you can guess, this is probably our most used key :v: It feels as if there is something behind it, but nothing is there, mebbe a crumb.
Is 5.69MB too large for a GIF for usage in a web page, generally speaking?
yeah that's pretty big for a single image
My "t" key did the same a hile ago. Cockroach in keyboard?
My "w" key is sticking, and as you can guess, this is probably our most used key :v: It feels as if there is something behind it, but nothing is there, mebbe a crumb.
take key off and clean the hole, area around keyboard, and key cap off with a q-tip and alcohol.
hi facepunch. I need a quick answer. should I got with a wireless N or G card? the room my computer will be situated in is separated by 2 walls from the modem/router wireless transmitter.
Do you need Wireless N?
Do you need Wireless N?
is the only upside less interference (from other wireless devices) and faster speeds? (also my router/modem has 2 antennas)

I don't have an exact budget, it just has to be cheap enough to convince my parents to buy it for me. The actual classroom will have desktops, but it is also recomended to have a laptop for portable, personal use.
Cheap enough? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230094
is the only upside less interference (from other wireless devices) and faster speeds? (also my router/modem has 2 antennas)
In 5GHz mode it also has great wall penetration, improving signal greatly.
hi facepunch. How much more is the N adapter over G?
Cheap enough? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230094
The problem in that one is the intel card, intel cards are all horrible
Then give a god damn budget
The problem in that one is the intel card, intel cards are all horrible
Sandy bridge integrated GPU are pretty good, and if you don't tell anyone a budget what do you expect.
Is 2.51MB good size for a GIF, or should I keep going?
N can do G, so it's obviously a better choice. How much more is the N adapter over G?
ten bucks more. thanks guys :D
Is 2.51MB good size for a GIF, or should I keep going?
What dimensions are the image? For web you can always do an optimized palette for stuff as a png, also 85% quality jpegs are respectable to use if you use the for appropriate things, if you have a lot of colors in an image jpeg is better, if its just black and white use greyscale png, 8-bits/256 color or less use gif.

It's not for anything fancy, just a reaction pic or something. I'm still experimenting with different optimization techniques.

If you do it as a JPG at 85% quality with subsampling set for best quality it is only 48.7KB. I did the tests from GIMP.
