Yeah, I figure if I remove every other frame and halve the framerate I will get a lower filesize without losing too much quality. Will try it soon.
I'm currently using 2 screens on my pc, but I'm using one of them for watching movies and shit. Is it possible to make it so you can only access one screen at a time so I don't accidentally glide my mouse over to the movie watching screen?

I think there may be an application that does that, but I suggest just setting them up like this:

so that you have to go directly into the corner to get to it.

Being gold isn't worth it.
What are your guys opinions on this Power Supply
I can get it for $60 right now and I have had this second 480 just sitting here waiting to be used.
$60? yes

for that price definitely
Hello lads, I have a quick question for you - I'd like to connect my old unformatted hard drive along with my new one - problem is that the old one still has Windows 7 on it, ergo still has partitions C, D and E, just like my new drive. What would happen if I were to connect them at the same time? Which by the way is what I want to do - I need to copy some data from my old one.
It may attempt to boot from the old unformatted drive.
It's just a case of going into the BIOS and setting the hard drive boot priority so it boots from your normal drive first. (Or mashing the boot selection key on startup - In my case, F11)
Another option (If it is a SATA drive) is connect the power cable of the new drive, wait for windows to boot, then insert the SATA data cable. if your motherboard supports SATA hotplugging windows will pick up the drive much like an external drive.

I was a first generation new gold so I didn't have a choice.

Thank you very much.
Anyone here have experience with DIALux? I am being offered a job to create reports (with extra if 3d rendering)
I'm currently using onboard sound from my motherboard (http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?model=m3a790gxh/128m).
I just found a Sound Blaster Audigy model SB0570. I'm just wondering do you think my sound would improve if I put this in my PC or is the onboard from the motherboard the same/better seeing as it's newer.
it's the same

That's not strictly true and you know it.
To be more accurate, it's more like: "You will only hear a noticeable difference between your onboard sound and a shiny new sound card if 3 conditions are met:
A) You have a decent set of speakers or a decent set of headphones and an amplifier
B) You aren't going from onboard sound to a £5 Audigy 2 you got second hand that was manufactured in 2002
C) Your source is of decent quality"
I satisfy all 3, an M-Audio Rackmount interface capable of 24Bits at 192Khz and a Set of Yamaha near fields hooked together with fully balanced connections in a semi-treated room and FLAC files to play from.
There IS a difference if I hook them to the onboard audio, The noise floor being the startling one. and high end just isn't as nice on the onboard, it's 'harsh'.
There's definite room for improvement over onboard audio, but they aren't THAT terrible to begin with so you will have to invest a bit of money to get an appreciable quality increase (And as stated, a system capable of even reproducing the increase in quality).
Is onboard audio terrible? No, it gets the job done and will satisfy the majority of people's ears.

"it makes it sound better with $1,000+ equipment set up perfectly in a near-studio environment with a dedicated amp"
thank you for stating the obvious
A better soundcard will only be apparent with much better speakers/headphones.
Therefore, just upgrade your headphones/speakers for a more profound effect.
It can be compared to changing strings on a guitar (not really big difference).

jesus, 20 minute ninja, i need to stop afking
Using a wild difference in price to make a point, the point remains the same regardless of a studio environment or not.
What you said:

Was incorrect, A Soundcard can make a difference.
Pendantic, Maybe. But I'd rather people weren't fed incorrect information.

Thank you for being an insufferable dick who won't admit when he's wrong.
You said there was no difference; as a blanket statement; which is wrong. No ifs about it.
I bought this board during the sales they had during the week.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131646
At the time they ran out of memory in stock which i saw, taking a look today.. they have this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231442
Half asleep from work this morning and i can't figure if it will work or not without problems, I'm wondering if this is the replacement that i can use over all from what i saw earlier this week...

It seems awfully expensive for 16 gb's. I bought 8 (2x4) for $35 NOT on sale.

take the amp away and then tell me if it makes a difference, your test is flawed
I'm quite correct
Take the amp away and you won't hear a damn thing, you need an amplifier in all situations (Ok you could run a small transducer off line level signals but now you are just being silly). Sound cards have built in amplifiers for headphones (Shite ones at that, hence people buy external ones)
But that is completely irrelevant because the test was performed with the same output equipment on identical unbalanced connections with the same source files:
Point stands, What you said right here is incorrect:
buying

will
not

sound
quality
Because a sound card CAN make a difference (for the better) in sound quality.
Don't try lecturing me in audio, I've been working with it professionally since I was 12 - There's a reason I have decent equipment.

What are you even trying to imply there? I'm using speakers, i.e. the Un-amplified output (You know, the one called "Line-Out") Totally bypassing the onboard amp in both cases and using my speakers' built in Bi-amplification.
My test is relevant and proves that a Soundcard can sound better than onboard audio. (Even reading spec sheets will say the same)
As before, Your blanket statement was incorrect.

I got it free and I don't think it's worth it.

also, stop quoting Odellus, I have him on ignore so I don't have to read his stupidity.
Will running my GPU fan constantly at around 2400 RPM damage it or something?
I have a Radeon HD 5870 and I set fan speed to 58 % in CCC.
Thanks in advance.
