also, how big is the difference between i5 and i7?
marginal speed wise, i7 can have a bit more running at the same time
Quick question. When I play S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl any framerate under around 100fps has noticeable mouse lag/sluggishness. It's strange but when I move the mouse there will be a small delay between my movement and the movement of the weapon on screen. So when I stop moving the mouse the gun is still moving and it creates a sluggish feeling. I'm wondering why this would occur on my 60Hz monitor. I was under the impression any framerate over 60fps would have no affect on anything except causing screen tearing. I would also like to note that this doesn't happen in any other game, even S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat which runs on the same engine with some updates. Can anyone offer any insight as to why this might occur? I can usually keep the game running at 120fps so it's not an issue most of the time, but it's quite perplexing to me.
are you using vsync
are you using vsync
No I'm not, vsync causes horrible mouse lag for me in every game, even with triple buffering. I usually just use built in commands to set the framerate to a max amount such as the fps_max command in all Valve games. Unfortunately if I do so in SoC then I get mouse lag despite the framerate being equal to the monitor's refresh rate.
Do I need a special 6Gb/s SATA III cable? Will my motherboard come with one? Will the SSD? Do I need a special one?
afaik there is no difference between a sata II and sata III cable except for it being labeled or colored differently. At least that's what is marketed by an asus motherboard I was working on with a friend. Again receiving the cable will depend on the manufacturer. Higher end boards will have it but the most I've seen come with ssd's other than a manual is a mounting bracket.

Anyone know why the display driver of a 5670 would be crashing(then restarting shortly after, continuing play) once in a while during GTA IV? It's the only game I've had the issue in, but I'm not sure if the game is the culprit. Hm, seems it does it occasionally in Minecraft as well... But I know it never does in Battlefield 3 and Skyrim.
also, how big is the difference between i5 and i7?
about i2
that isn't true at all
As I stated I am going off experience. Not sure what point you are criticizing though.

Best case with at least 4 hotswap bays? I saw the Level10-gt ( I actually like the snow edition looks ) has 5 hotswap bays but it doesn't have any other bays. The CM storm trooper looks cool, no swap bays and hdd cable management will be a pain, 800D has 4 bays and 2 additional, but cooling sucks for multi GPU. HAF-X has 5 bays and two hotswap. What about cases with good HDD/SSD cable mangement and is half-full tower? 650D and 600T?
about i2
I knew it. I saw that joke coming.
I knew it. I saw that joke coming.
Just get the i5 if you're choosing between the two. I have one and it's more than I could ever need.
ok, so suddenly my nvidia 570 graphics card gets random artifacts all over my screen, constantly drivers crashing, and everything is shit. What can I do to fix this??!!? I have updated drivers, done a fresh install, and still purple, purple everywhere. If my graphics card IS dying, how can I get a refund from the manufacture/newegg.com

The manufacturer.
V233H (1920x1080@60Hz) 1280MB GeForce GTX 570 (ASUStek Computer Inc) 35 °C does this clear anything up? i'm afraid I don't quite know what you are asking for
It's an Asus 570, start here: http://support.asus.com/ServiceHome.aspx?SLanguage=en
is this a good buy?
I don't trust Acer. They suck 99.99999% of the time. [editline]15th December 2011[/editline]
SHUSH IT COSTS MORE AND I'M LIMITED HERE
You can get Sata 6GB/s PCI extension devices.
Monitors! Anyone know of decent ones? Looking to spend £100-£150 but willing to spend a little bit more if it is good. I use a wide variety of programmes and a HDMI input would be nice to. Had a look at the LG range and the LG E2281VR seems pretty good.
that isn't true at all
He's talking about the cable, not the port. [editline]15th December 2011[/editline]
Ok, this is how I have DXTory set up. I'm downscaling 1080p to 720p, what codec should I use, or what settings should I fix?
I use the UT Codec at 422
He's talking about the cable, not the port. [editline]15th December 2011[/editline] I use the UT Codec at 422
Do I need to add that?
I don't trust Acer. They suck 99.99999% of the time.
Well, my sister and mother both have acers and they're pretty ok. Better than toshitba
Acer has gotten better lately
It's Asus I have a problem with. I needed to repair a couple of Asus laptop... They outright refuse to give you service manuals for their newer products due to it being "Intellectual property" (Funny how Dell manage to provide all their service manuals AND full catalogue of BIOS revisions on their site for open download!). Needless to say I got the laptops apart anyway but some crazy design decisions made it difficult. "Hey, let's put a screw right from between the processor fan blades going through the heatsink, motherboard and shielding into a nut welded to the back of the keyboard" - True story. (I don't have a problem with Asus in general, I have an Asus transformer and a GTX560Ti and a P8p67 By them - but this behaviour puts me off their laptops, I like to be able to easily service my machines thanks - you know, like HP do for their printers.)
Does anyone know any good WiFi radios? Or are there UMTS/3G radios, maybe?
So my GTS250 is causing bluescreens and game crashes, also artifacting. It's on warranty, but i don't have an extra GPU and this board is P67, so no Built in IGP on the CPU support either. Fuck :I
I am in need of help. My hard drive gave off a weird sound in the middle of the night and does so now for every 5 minutes. Here's two recordings of what it sounds like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zg3UaPCW0kQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcglhFHjM8E I am able to access all data fine without crashing. S.M.A.R.T also says it's fine but the high volume of the noise worries me a lot. Any idea on what's wrong?
