They call it a 1156 backplate, but whatever.

Saw in a third-party forum post that its possible that Raidxpert is running multiple times via multiple logins on the machine, and that is causing it to eat up more memory.
Might or might not even be relevent, but that's the best I've got.
Could somebody explain me how can I make a LAN shared folder?
One PC is using Vista, other XP.
Google says stuff what I can't understand, sadly.
I have a question. When I used Windows 7 on my old Dell Latitude, Windows Aero would not work. When I went back to Windows Vista recently, Aero works perfectly fine. How do I get it to work on Windows 7?
Quick question: I'm checking my RAM using CPU-Z and all the speed/frequencies seem low, my RAM should be running at 1600MHz and my best guess is that speed/frequency measurements are some of those ones that are always shown as half of what they actually are or something. Here's a pic in case it helps.

Right-click on your desktop and select 'Personalise', then choose a Aero theme and see if that works.
The H50 is perfectly fine, it keeps my 1090T (3.5GHz) at 23°C idle and 30-35°C load (20°C room temperature). And it wouldn't be cheaper cause he already has the H50.
Sorry, read it wrong, I thought he meant he is was buying the H50
If I was building a gaming pc, and bought this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116713&cm_re=windows_7-_-32-116-713-_-Product , would it be the correct thing to buy? I only ask because it says "upgrade" repeatedly.
7 is supposed to be the best so yeah.

You'd also need a 64-bit os if you're getting a good processor.
Anybody know of a good Mini-HDMI to DisplayPort cable I can get? Or a set of adapters and cables I can use? My monitor supports it but my graphics cards output only mini-HDMI or DVI.

No, get an OEM. OEMs are for newly builts and are cheaper, too.
Is there any real benefit to having an i7-2600k over an i5-2500k other than hyper threading? Also, what would hyper threading really be useful for?
Also, this may be a dumb question, but if I got a Z68 chipset motherboard would it be possible to use the onboard GPU for PhysX?
Is there a way to find an incompatible driver?

On the PC that the folder will be stored on you must first enable File Sharing (On Vista it's in Network and Sharing Center). Then right-click the folder you want to share -> Properties -> Sharing -> Advanced sharing -> Tick "Share this folder". There you can also give it a share name and then OK and close the Properties window.
On the other PC just make sure you have network discovery turned on (On Vista it's also in Network and Sharing Center). Then open the Network from your desktop or under Start Menu: it should be somewhere there. In the Network folder find the other PC. Open it. On the shared folder make a right-click -> Map network drive -> Pick a drive letter and press finish. You should see a new drive in Computer. If you don't want a new drive just access the folder from Network and don't map it.
Anyone know how to rollback video drivers?

Turns out, Windows 7 stopped supporting my old graphics card. Luckily, I was able to find a Vista driver for my card, and it worked perfectly.
Im using a Hdmi to dvi cable to connect my xbox my monitor but I cant get audio because I'm using dvi. Is there any way to get audio to work on xbox without a hdmi to hdmi cable?
Which external harddrive should one get these days? I'm looking for at least 2 TB and I'm not afraid of power supplies if it means the drive is faster.

There's a thread about that:

No multiple logins here, this is the only account on the computer and I'm the only one who uses it. Heck I've never even logged out of the account and logged back in since it was last booted. Though after leaving it on over night as I always do, it stopped eating RAM. Maybe it had to do with something related to me playing a game at the time?

you need this, or you can rip open your current one so it'll fit with the HDMI cable in, too.
I have a problem.
I was too lazy to enter my OEM CD key into Windows 7 for a good month and a half. It then decided on shutting down once I got back out of sleep mode. Pissed, I entered the CD key and life was good. Now, on the odd occasion, I'll hop out of sleep mode, and it will do a normal shutdown. FUUUU- Any advice?
According to Newegg 24GB. Also may I ask why?
I'm thinking of upgrading it, I only got 6 GB of RAM atm.
The reason I need more RAM is because FL Studio crashed once when I had many instruments loaded, it told me there was no RAM left.

Only upgrade after 6 GBs is 12 GBs since you have triple channel RAM on that motherboard. Kind of odd since 6 GBs is a lot. Ask PC Building for some advice on what RAM to get.
Quick hard drive question:
Is seagate a terrible brand, and what would cause a hd to fail after almost 3 months of use?
From my experience, hard drives are like light bulbs when it comes to failure (i.e. the distribution is exponential). I've never had a hard drive failure (some even after 5 years of daily use), and I've heard of expensive hard drives failing in months.
Aside from trying to avoiding physical damage or magnetic interference, there isn't much you can do about hard drive failure.

I'm looking for a laptop for college.
The only specifications is that it can
A) Access the internet quickly
B) Play some games (Minecraft, TF2)
Recommendations? Not looking to spend a whole bunch, either. Preferably under $1500
Is it bad to have both Realtek and Creative drivers for sound on my computer?
Is it bad to have both Realtek and Creative drivers for sound on my computer?
It -is- weird, and you should only need one program / set of drivers installed at any given time, unless of course you're a professional who uses mutliple sound cards for different purposes.
When you acquired the need for new drivers, you should have uninstalled the old ones completely first, not just disabled, which would give full access to the incoming drivers to make the changes they would need to.
It might not be a huge problem, but the drivers will argue from time to time and may cause annoyances.
