Why do you want VNC on a CentOS machine?
If you're running a GUI on that poor VPS, I'll come to Denmark and punch you.

I want a GUI on that VPS, what are you gonna do about it?
Come to Denmark and punch me? Good luck because I live in Norway, dumbass.
I might be slightly sleepy, can't even recognize flags.
Please tell me you have at least 2GB of RAM on that VPS.

Oh and bite me.

1.5GB, 3GB burst RAM.
[editline]24th June 2011[/editline]
Also, why are you mad at me?
Burst RAM is a fuckin' scam.
Hope the node you're on is underused.
Setting up VNC on a VPS ends up being a massive pain in the ass, for some reason.
I don't know why.
I've done it once earlier though, with an OpenVZ VPS where they had a template that had it all pre-installed.
All I had to do was install the VNC server, config the password, run it and connect.

I know burst RAM is just a gimmick, but 1.5GB is enough for my purposes.
I also got it working by following this tutorial: http://www.skullbox.net/vncserver.php
I have no idea why the other ones didnt work.
This is a weird one. I recently bought all the parts for my new PC. Everything seems okay, no failed parts or anything. The odd thing is, when I try to install Windows 7, it freezes up at the "Windows is starting" screen. I've tried waiting it out, and a couple other things, but it always does it at the exact same spot.
I looked up my problem on Google and the only solution I could find was replacing the PSU, which I don't see how that would work. However, about 5 different people solved the same problem the same way. What I want to know is if there's a way to fix this without replacing the PSU, since that would take time and likely money.
Here's the specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit OEM
4GB DDR3 1333 RAM (2x2 gb)
AMD Athlon II x4 640, 3.0Ghz
Corsair TX650W Power Supply
Biostar A770e3 Motherboard
ASUS ENGTX460 768Mb

maybe a bad iwindows installation disc?
That could be... any way to tell for sure?
Is there any programs I can download that can tell me what the hell is hogging up all my bandwidth? I'm getting like literally 100kb/s when I should get around 5mb/s or so. I'm using a wireless home network. Yes it's secure.
I tried a virus scan, defragging, google, and uninstalled a whole ton of stuff but the issues still persist.

Stupid question on my part, but are Soundcards physical objects?
Are they attached to the mobo?

Yes, they go in a PCI slot. The same as GPU's.

Yes, onboard 'soundcards' are a chip on the motherboard afaik, dedicated soundcards usually go in PCI or PCI-E x1 slots.
Is it just me - or is britain's internet absolutely wrecked at the moment?

"Faster than 72% of GB"...
Did one proxying through my VPS. Seems like the "72%" thing is a speedtest issue (Though my internet really does suck at the moment)

Are dedicated soundcards even needed if you aren't going to be producing any music?

You only really need one if you have some high end headphones
does anyone know how to deal with a memory leak? games (it has happened to virtually every game i've played as of late) are all randomly crashing to desktop and a few of them slow down significantly before doing so. a memory leak is the only thing i can possibly think of that would cause this.
Can someone tell me why "AMD RAIDXpert" is eating 1 GB of my RAM? :psyduck:

It's doing it again. But it's slowly going up about 20-50 K every second, not even playing any games. Is this just a memory leak?
Using Win 7 64-bit if it matters

Take a core dump and analyse it. Easier said than done though.

Why are you using a RAID controller for a PC? If you're doing heavy work, it will have heavy memory usage; it caches what is being written before swiping it through the array iirc.

I'm having to deal with a pre-built by HP. (Pavilion Elite 210f, don't have money to build my own atm)
Ask them, not me.
I keep getting artifacts in Bad Company 2

GTX 570, 270.61, game is maxed out, no overclocking has been done and I've set up a custom fan profile that makes it run at 100% when the GPU is at 65C. It maxes out at 69C.
why

I'm going to update to 275.33 and see if anything changes
Well shit, I got VNC working on my CentOS 5.6 but now when I connect I see that my user is normal, not admin. I have full access via SSH though so is it possible to upgrade my account trough SSH to be admin?

See that? There are supposed to be many more options there like "Add or remove software" etc.
