There's something I have been thinking lately: Should I stop using Windows Live Messenger and use Pidgin or Miranda IM instead, or not? If you have MSN then which client do you use?
Windows Live Messenger 14.0.8117.416 + A-Patch The latest version with old style UI.
For my new desktop build i'm getting rid of my 32" and my 22" and swapping them for (2) 27" led monitors. This model most likely, but i may consider a different since there's a review that states standby mode does not work with display port http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VE278Q-27-Inch-LED-Monitor/dp/B0043T34RK/ref=sr_1_27?ie=UTF8&qid=1309520474&sr=8-27 I'm also going to run a 6970 from visiontek, now my main question is, should i bother with display port? or just stick with Dvi? I would go with hdmi but there's only one hdmi port available on the 6970's (2 dvi, 2 display port, 1 hdmi) Anyone have any experience with display port? Pro's/Con's?
Someone posted a thread forever ago about some internet thing that let you share your desktop, and let people fuck around with it. Can anyone link me to whatever it was?
Is there any way to archive a whole site? My friend keeps bugging me to get all of the flash games on this (relatively small) website.
Someone posted a thread forever ago about some internet thing that let you share your desktop, and let people fuck around with it. Can anyone link me to whatever it was?
Teamviewer? http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx
I don't think so. People posted links in the thread and people could go in and see what they were doing and chat and request to take control of the desktop and do any- and everything
I don't think so. People posted links in the thread and people could go in and see what they were doing and chat and request to take control of the desktop and do any- and everything
That's Teamviewer, I think.
Oh ok. It didn't look like it on the website, but alright. [editline]1st July 2011[/editline] If anyone would like to see most of the library of music that will be played on the autoDJ, let me know. I will give you the TeamViewer details and let you have a look through.
join.me is also similar to teamviewer. A nice way how to partion my 700GB HDD to 2 partions, one 600 and other 100 so I wouldn't need to format it. (I have about 150GB free and want to install Win7 to a different partion without deleting everything.)
So I am at my bros for the week in Florida and he has a Acer 4730z that will just power off randomly, it does not seem to be caused by heat because it will shut off at boot when you first turn it on. it also will sometimes work for at least 30 minutes sometimes. any ideas? [editline]1st July 2011[/editline] It also did the same thing with a live USB of Crunchbang.

I think it was under administrative tools->computer management. There you can shrink your partition and use the free space to make a new one. And it keeps the data AFAIK.
I'll be getting a new build soon, but I can't decide what to do with my old computer...could it be possibly used as a server, or should I just scrap it and take out the hard drive and reuse it + the OS to save money on the new one? Here are the specs W7 Ultimate CPU- Pentium 4 540@ 3.2ghz Memory - 2.5gb Graphics - Intel 82915G/GV/910GL (shitty on-board, yes) HD - WD caviar blue 500gb @ 7200 rpm
You should give it to me. [editline]1st July 2011[/editline] serious btw. PM me if you want to discuss.
Doubtful. Any other opinions?
Is there any other way to make Foobar keep playing the playlist from the beginning again after the last song ends without any user interaction?
Is there any other way to make Foobar keep playing the playlist from the beginning again after the last song ends without any user interaction?
I haven't used Foobar in a long time, so I can't tell for sure, other than that there IS a way. All media players I know have the ability. I just can't say by mind where the option is.
if i remove drive cages i should be able to stuff two 6970's in a HAF 912, no?
reposting because i've got like 4 hours to make a decision
reposting because i've got like 4 hours to make a decision
Did you take measurements?
I'm loving this microphone. [editline]1st July 2011[/editline] I currently just have it on "Listen to this device" and I'm whistling .
I'm loving this microphone. [editline]1st July 2011[/editline] I currently just have it on "Listen to this device" and I'm whistling .
See, I told you that you'll love it.
There's something I have been thinking lately: Should I stop using Windows Live Messenger and use Pidgin or Miranda IM instead, or not?
If you use multiple operating systems or multiple IM protocols then get Pidgin - same interface across the board then. You could also get Miranda I guess but I never tried it so I don't know how good it is.
I'm loving this microphone. [editline]1st July 2011[/editline] I currently just have it on "Listen to this device" and I'm whistling .
Mind me asking what microphone it is? I'm in need of a new microphone.
Did you take measurements?
not currently at home, said fuck it and bought it anyway. got 2 6970's for $550 ~awh yee~ of course i can't install them for at least a month because i have no idea when the house will be ready. :frown:
I'm debating whether to keep saving up for a high end nVidia card (I can afford a 570 right now, or save up for a couple months for a 580) and use my current 460 for PhysX. This option would be easier, since I already have the drivers and use CUDA for things like CoreAVC, but I'm wondering if my money would be better spent buying two 6870s and crossfiring them. However, my mobo is x16/x4 and only supports crossfire (so I can't SLI another 460). Is the performance loss from x16/x4 enough to make crossfired 6870s not worth it? Or at least not worth it in regards to a single 570/580? Thanks in advance. Almost forgot - I have an 80+ 750w CoolerMaster PSU; I checked a calculator should be enough for both scenarios.

I wonder can the AMD Phenom X4 Quad Core use the Nvidia's SLI feature?
join.me is also similar to teamviewer.
Goddamn it, that was it! Oh well, I can use teamviewer with my phone. Thanks for remembering that, though.
I wonder can the AMD Phenom X4 Quad Core use the Nvidia's SLI feature?
yeah of course as long as your motherboard supports it
I need to take an ethernet cable connected to my router and split it two ways (at least). Would a switch do that, or is there something smaller/cheaper?
yeah of course as long as your motherboard supports it
How do I know my Motherboard can support it?
