15-20gb for clean install, will slowly take up more over time because of window's auto-backup thingy for important files.
So you think a 30GB would suffice for Win7 and something like Photoshop and Nikon Transfer?
Another question!
I've a subdomain which I want to direct to an address, but with a folder.
So like:
sub.domain.com redirects over to 127.0.0.1/folder
How do I do this?
Directing to only the address is simple, but it won't let me put in /folder with a Simple DNS Zone Editor ):
Okay so you guys are probably tired of hearing me talking about SSD's but which one of these gives me greater value for money taking into account read and write speeds, capacity and price.

Hello, does anybody know a good safe website where I can build my own computer in the Uk with ease? I have a £500-£600 pound budget so would that be enough to be able to run games like battlefield 3, skyrim, etc for when they come out? Also what should I spend more on ? I want this Pc for gaming, so I would assume graphics card?
Thank you for any answers i really appreciate it.

Do you mean a place to buy all the parts for delivery then build it yourself?
If so http://www.scan.co.uk/ do everything you'll need and I've had some good experience with them, they also do some nice prebuilts if you are into that sort of thing.
http://www.ebuyer.com/ also do pretty much everything but they receive mixed reviews although I've had only good experience with them.
thanks but no I mean where the website has all the parts what you need and then you choose the certain parts you want need and then they build it and deliver it
Something like this website looks pretty simple where they have it all laid out for you and you just choose what is best for you

Try Yoyotech?
Worse value than Scan/Ebuyer, but they'll build it for you.

Get a Crucial drive, or a Vertex II.

If you want more space/price though, you could try a hybrid drive.

Dunno much about hybrid drive's performance though.
Oh, and sorry for using scan ;p

I wish I could but they are all sort of out of my price range.

How is the Kingston in comparison to the OCZ Vertex I originally posted?
What's the best PCI/AGP card to get to play Minecraft?
My friend is going to buy my spare HP computer I've had laying around for ages, but it needs a graphics card because he wants to be able to play Minecraft. It's got both spare PCI and an AGP slot/s, so I was wondering what the cheapest and best card there was to be able to perform this.
Will an i5 bottleneck Dual XFX Radeon/AMD 6870's?
Oh joy... I just found a Canon S-58 electronic Typewriter... Can anyone give me an estimate on what I might be able to pawn this off for?

Minecraft doesn't need much of a GPU. It needs a good CPU. I have one of the best AGP available, it's a 46xx I think. It's just collecting dust if you want it for lie $20 :D
So I am at my bros for the week in Florida and he has a Acer 4730z that will just power off randomly, it does not seem to be caused by heat because it will shut off at boot when you first turn it on. it also will sometimes work for at least 30 minutes sometimes. any ideas?
[editline]1st July 2011[/editline]
It also did the same thing with a live USB of Crunchbang.
So no one has any ideas?
So no one has any ideas?
Does it shut off instantly or does it blue screen first (in windows)
My computer is complaining about my CPU fan when it tries starting and promptly shuts down.
My CPU fan is working fine and IDK what to do.
Any ideas?

plug it into the CPU fan header and not a chassis fan header
[editline]4th July 2011[/editline]
and if it is already, maybe just switch the CPU fan and the Chassis fans, IF the CPU fan is still spinning yet not being detected for some reason.

No.
Hello, all is what is want to do is be able to run battlefield 3 well when it comes out and all the Men of war games on the best settings. Can somebody help me out please? My budget is £600 Max but I don't really want to go that high.
But when it comes to building PCs I am a noob beginner and if somebody can build a Pc for me based on my requirements on a UK based website so the full Pc can be delivered to me then I will be most greatful(I don't want the Pc to be in parts so I have to put it together). I will buy them a cheap game on steam if a somebody helps me(The games are cheap now because of the summer sale. Sorry I cannot buy you a very dear game I have saved up for this pc for a while now.) Thank you if anyone helps me and if somebody does I will reply back later
You'll have trouble with that budget, you'll need £900-1000 for a computer that can run BF3 well, especially if you want prebuilt.
Best best is 3XS systems though.

so i found this very odd PC on the side of the road.
It's a pentium 4 1.9 Ghz with like 256mb RAM as well as some old RAGE AGP card it was missing a HDD and a optical drive.
however, what struck me as odd is that for such an old PC, it's interior was immaculate, no dust or sign of wear, as if it were manufactured yesterday, it also has this unusual cooler on it by Arctic cooling.
I tried installing Win 98 and playing DOS games on it (shadow warrior, redneck rampage) but i kind of forgot about it and my brother found a way using DOSbox.
my question: what do i do with it? I don't know what server such a small amount of RAM could afford, but it boots up win98 super fast so far. we already have a print server/NAS...
I am confused on what the green text on this page(Link Below) actually mean

Not much really:
Xtreme design - Extreme design. I guess that's good (it's ASUS, that's good enough for me).
Core Unlocker - Unlocks cores. Some of AMD's CPUs have cores that can be unlocked. Sometimes you can unlock them, sometimes you can't (you can only do this on tri-cores and dual cores).
AMD 6 core - supports Thuban CPUs from AMD (6-core CPUs, you shouldn't buy them unless you really need the two extra cores for something)
SLI Ready - supports SLI, Nvidia's counter-part to Crossfire (kind of the other way around, but w/e).

Do you have an AMD CPU currently or are you buying one?

I'm building a new computer
My 4870 is starting to become dated. I'm going to save up some money in the coming days and I'll have money for a GPU by Friday. $300 and a bit more if I sell my 4870. How much do you think I could get for it? It's a 1GB version and I see them on ebay for abouy $135 or so. That'd be $435 (yay basic math) for me to spend. What would be the best card for me to buy if I have a 1920x1200 resolution, two monitors, and I play GTA:IV.
I've currently got
i7 950 3.0Ghz
6GB 1600mhz ram
4870 1Gb

Argh I keep deleting SSD's from my baskets, adding a different one, deleting that and repeating I just can't make my mind up.
