[QUOTE=Smoot;29992237]I can't find the old thread that featured a program that mapped your hard drive and displayed what takes up space graphically. Does anyone recall?[/QUOTE] WinDirStat [editline]22nd May 2011[/editline] [url]http://windirstat.info/[/url]
[QUOTE=JonniXD;29991390]Quick question here: A folder I have suddenly decided to have a lock on it's icon. I can access the folder just fine, and nothing has changed, but I'd like the lock to go away, since it annoys me. [img]http://gyazo.com/ca6662dd2f4a2e54dcbdd43d3dc80063.png[/img] What can I do?[/QUOTE] I think that just means that the file's locked to certain users. Try looking at the security stuff in the properties of the folder.

I swear something's funny about Facepunch right now, I think it just put me on page 3 instead of 4 when I clicked for new posts. So I replied to an old question.

A lock usually means it's not shared over your network and/or HomeGroup.
How much can I get for old apple macs that are running OS 9.1/9.2? I have 2 running OS 9 that still work and one that even pre-dates them I think. I'll try to find pictures of them. [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline] [img_thumb]http://bindapple.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/i-ve-had-my-imac-since-2001-is-that-considered-to-be-old-2.jpg[/img_thumb] [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline] [img_thumb]http://www.macrepairs.co.uk/public/site/gallery/502px-PowermacG4proposal.png[/img_thumb] [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline] [img_thumb]http://www.recycledgoods.com/product_images/a/127/s_p_19301_1__96215_zoom.jpg[/img_thumb] I don't know what the first is, the second is a Power Mac G4, the last is a Power Mac 8500. [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline] Ok, the first is a Power Mac G3. [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline] Also, all with original keyboards and mice, with boxes for the first two, but I am unsure of the last. [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline] Jesus, ebay people are selling G4's for almost £90 without any peripherals. May have hit a gold mine?

[QUOTE=imptastick;30000868]can you play music through speakers while chatting with a headset Basically I want to know if i can split it so my music plays from one audio source and skype plays through another[/QUOTE] If you have a realtek card, yes. Options exist in their control panel.
Most images seem to horribly compressed on Chrome (dev build) lately. It's most noticeable on Facebook. Any setting to rectify this?
I have a pretty simple electronic (piano) keyboard which has a crappy sound. Is there some way I could connect the headphone output of it into the line in jack on my PC, where it would recognize it's crappy sound and change it something better? May be a strange idea, but I'm wondering if it's possible. [editline]1:11[/editline] Wait, doesn't it sound like I need something that can convert the sounds from Line In to MIDI?

[QUOTE=Giraffen93;30007860]I THINK that FL Studio has something like this.[/QUOTE] I really want to be sure that it's possible and how I do it before I get FL though. [editline]1:11[/editline] [QUOTE=Giraffen93;30007860]yes, yes it does.[/QUOTE] Do you have any link for a guide or something?
Just download the trial. Playing around with it right now, it doesn't seem to like normal songs though. Eh, doesn't work that great. But i guess if you play single notes it works.
[QUOTE=kaze4159;29987339]Can't, the only options are exfat or NTFS[/QUOTE] I have these options: [IMG]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5793283/aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.PNG[/IMG] If you have a Linux LiveCD it probably has Gparted on it so you can use that. You could also make a cd only with Gparted, but i prefer LiveCD's as they have more use.

The only thing I want to do is to change the sound of a keyboard.
I need speakers and a monitor, my budget is $100 for the speakers and $200 for the monitor. For the monitor I would like at least a 23 inch 1920x1080 one. What would you guys reccomend?
[img]http://gyazo.com/f1d499ec5cce2b6aeee4ba6042833c0f.png[/img] What is TMPIN1 and why is it at 77C? (These are load temps fyi) Edit: And why is there a fan in SpeedFan that HWMonitor doesn't detect? A few minutes ago it broke 8,000 RPM but that fan isn't visible in HWMonitor at all...
I wouldn't give a crap about it to be honest.
TMPIN0 is CPU. TMPIN1 is something else on the motherboard [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline] I have to use TMPIN0 to measure my CPU because I unlocked some cores and now the normal sensors don't work...
Those temps seem to vary sometimes, based on the motherboard being used. On my particular setup, the first is my NB temp, second is CPU. There's no third, although I know that can measure mosfet temps sometimes. One thing you (Super) could do is check out Everest, and compare the sensor temps on the "computer" tree to those in HWmonitor. Everest tends to label all of the available sensors. Might be worth trying out. [editline]23rd May 2011[/editline] Although on her system it does seem that 0 is the CPU temp. But I also know that some Phenom owners have issues with how that particular program reads the sensors at times.

Result: [img]http://gyazo.com/872a2db4b719b122fb53f8b82d5ee235.png[/img] It seems it's my motherboard.... Is it really supposed to get that hot?? :gonk: Edit: Note the current load is Garry's Mod, Firefox with YouTube, Skype, Windows Live, and Dropbox in the background.
You should switch Windows Live to Pidgin. It supports so many protocols, even facebook chat.
All my friends and I use something Pidgin doesn't have. It's an extension called Messenger Plus and it lets us have colored names and BBCode in our text... If I switched to Pidgin I'd be seeing a bunch of code crap on both sides of people's names. Sides, the only messenger besides Steam I use IS Windows Live, Facebook isn't important. So I don't see why I'd need Pidgin v:v:v I never have had any of these problems that other people have had with Windows Live.
imho miranda > pidgin
sooo i recently bought a gtx 580 nvdia card, PNY btw. however, when i'm playing BFBC2 on high settings the temp goes up to 80C. when it's in idle mode it usually stays around 40C. should i worry about overheat issues??

I figured this question really didn't deserve a thread, but I really need a question that I've googled many times. How do I get a transparent background for a forum avatar? I'm using Paint.net (I don't want to pirate or buy PS) and i tried deleting the white areas, and it turned into the white and gray checkerboard, which usually means it's transparent. However, when I tried to upload it to the forums it has a white background. [IMG]http://i990.photobucket.com/albums/af26/a_mutant_hobo/disembodiedainsley.png[/IMG] Here's the image I want. Do you guys know how to make the background fully transparent (jaybuz's avatar is a good example). Please get back to me ASAP, as I haven't been able to answer it anywhere else.
