Unless you need massive amounts of VRAM, it's probably cheaper (price/performance-wise) to just get a GTX 590: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130693
Or SLI GTX 570, maybe. Around the same price of one of those.

590 is bad just get dual 570s
[editline]18th July 2011[/editline]
also it's not a better deal lol, you're paying $100 more for like, 3fps

This single card is more expensive than my entire computer put together.
Current CPU & GPU: Phenom II X2 550BE + Nvidia GTS450 1GB
Upgrade CPU & GPU: Phenom II X6 1100T + Nvidia GTX560.
Good Choice for upgrade? don't wanna completely replace the innards of my pc, and yes my MB will support it.
Don't get an X6, just get an x4 955 and use the money saved on a 560 ti or 6950 1GB.
And what's your PSU?
edit:
Or what Shadaez said below, if it unlocks.

keep the 550, unlock it to a 955, get a 560 TI

8 hour battery life.
Lenovo state that the L412 model has up to 8 hours battery life, which it probably has... with the screen turned off and no background applications running. When I actually use it, even with a dimmed screen I've never experienced more than 3 hours of battery life.
I can't see any images hosted on tinypic, and I haven't been able to for a month or so now. I can view the tinypic.com main website.
How do I fix this?
Would this be a good choice of mainboard to build on into the future as i upgrade parts?

Don't get an open board box unless you're OK with no warranty after 30 days..
[editline]18th July 2011[/editline]
Not even a warranty, just 30 day replacement policy..
oh, well then could someone suggest a 'good' mainboard for building upon, I want to get an i5 btw

yeah it's fine
just don't let it go over 65
Alright. Temps are probably a little higher than usually since it's been really hot lately and my room hardly cools down.

I wouldn't say it had around 8 hours of battery life if it didn't under normal usage. Check out this review:
http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/18/lenovo-thinkpad-x220-review/
Just over 7 hours of video playback.
Would getting this laptop: http://ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=55044
Open box, for $500, add a Corsair F60 Sandforce SSD for $100, and put in 4GB DDR3 ram for $30 be a good price? The total will come to $700 or so after taxes and such.

No, you're wrong: http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-590-review/1
The GTX 570 in SLI is a better deal (as I stated in my frst post), but the GTX 590 overall gives etter performance, especially when you overclock it card to GTX 580 speeds. It's a matter of choice in myopinion, rather than price:performance.
I just reinstalled F.Lux, set it up to my location. Everything should be fine but it STILL insists that sunset is at 12:55.
This is getting annoying and I'm not finding anything about this online.
What was the name of that software that could ... emulate(?) a webcam feed? People used it for trolling chatroulette by playing porn videos.

manycam?
I've bought this build (hasn't arrived yet though) but I have a few questions, here's all the parts:
GPU: Radeon HD 5770 1GB
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333MHz Kingston
CASE: CM 690 II Advanced
Is there anything I should worry about? My room is usually very hot, but the case does have 3 big coolers. What do you guys recommend to get maximum performance? Any applications/system tweaks/overclocks?
Well, one of my RAM slots has decided not to work, and and the same time the computer is claiming I have a floppy disk drive installed (which I don't). Could it be something to do with the RAM, motherboard, or something else. I suppose more importantly, is it fixable without buying replacement parts. I could probably afford to replace the RAM, but I don't have the money for anything else.

2 570s at $340 a pop works out to be $680, only $50 less then the $730 590. Now something that is worth mentioning is that I have a 4 monitor setup so I need 2 independent cards to run all 4. If I went with the duel 570 SLI build I would need a motherboard with 3 card slots leaving no room for anything else.
Unfortunately it looks like Newegg is already sold out of 590s so looks like I am going to have to wait till they restock.
I went for a Lenovo X220 because I know someone who has it, and it can achieve very good battery life, and I don't need the dedicated graphics card of some of the others since if I play any games it will be Terraria.
