I am currently looking for a new network card, since mine is missing its drivers which I can't find. Recommendations?
I have one I got for £17, happy with it so far. I haven't had it long though. (Edimax EW-7612PIn)
Anyone know what kind of shops have those anti-static wristbands? I'm so nervous on making this computer I don't want it to be destroyed just because I forgot to touch the casing.
Hey, one of my teachers is asking for recommendations for a laptop, the main uses will be stuff like browsing, word, excel, acrobat, and such. He needs it to be able to run 2-3 programs seamlessly. His budget is around $550, he said he'll go $599 at max, but would prefer to not go there. Currently hes looking at http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230026
I'm looking at this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230027 for a sort of gaming laptop. How are the specs for the price? Is this what I should be looking for?
Holy shit did I become invisible? Will someone answer my question about what specs I should keep an eye out for?
Anyone know safe voltages for MSI P67a-GD55, i7-2600k, & Akasa Venom? I have it at 5.0ghz with 1.15 voltage, but it's idling at 55 celsius.
Holy shit did I become invisible? Will someone answer my question about what specs I should keep an eye out for?
pretty much the perfect laptop at that price
Should I wait until I'm able to build my own PC and miss Quake Con with my bro, or get a $400-$500 laptop for Quake Con and probably not get a custom PC for a few months. [editline]23rd July 2011[/editline] In the laptop department, what's the best laptop I xan get for around $400-$500?
Why do I see people worrying about monthly internet cap? I have 250 GB a month, and with all the HD movies I stream, all the games I download, all the game servers I host for several people at a time, and I've never even come close. Unless you're hosting a dedicated web or game server I don't understand the problem.

Granted, I'd just built my computer and had to install games/software.
Anyone know what kind of shops have those anti-static wristbands? I'm so nervous on making this computer I don't want it to be destroyed just because I forgot to touch the casing.
I was acting like you the first time i built my PC, so here is some information. It's simple, you don't need to get fancy and wear latex gloves, all the wires you need are going to be there. Thermal paste is nearly always already on a stock cooler, so you don't need to go out and get some, though it would be useful. And static isn't as much of a problem as some people say it is, i could have pieces of shit lying on a carpet for ages and it would still work, but it is a good idea not to do that :v: you will most likely touch the case when you go to put a component inside of the case with your arm while grabbing something. Don't start to worry when you have to add force to push something in e.g ram or a GPU, it isn't as gentle as you may think, and for the CPU, take care with it, but it really isn't hard to slot it in, and remember, match up the golden triangles.
pretty much the perfect laptop at that price
Thank you.
Can you pop off the keys on a G19? I want to take out all this dry oatmeal mix that's accumulated over the past 7 months.
Can you pop off the keys on a G19? I want to take out all this dry oatmeal mix that's accumulated over the past 7 months.
Grab and pull. Although I prefer the "wedge a butter knife under the keys" method.
Would I be better off with http://m.circuitcity.com/m/http/www.circuitcity.com/applications/SearchTools/search.asp?keywords=Syx+ascent+mpc+15 Or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883108459 I'd like to customize my own but I can't right now, so we're looking at prebuilts.

I only included Circuit City because it's local and my dad doesn't like ordering online.

My i7 idling at 60 celsius without overclocking, with a good heatsink - that can't be right. Have I not installed the heatsink properly? (It didn't come with thermal paste), or is the temp reading wrong?
My i7 idling at 60 celsius without overclocking, with a good heatsink - that can't be right. Have I not installed the heatsink properly? Thermal paste is to fill gaps inbetween the heatsink base and CPU to maximize heat transfer.
I noticed something strange after plugging in a Model M and using it, holding both shift keys and backspace will create some sort of beeping sound, like a countdown or something. I'm afraid of what it might do if I hold it down for a longer period of time past a few seconds. Observances: The beeps are one second intervals This only applies to PS/2 keyboards (Because the same did not apply to my G15, usb keyboard) ASUS P6T SE Motherboard Is this a motherboard feature or Windows 7?
How do I know whether to get windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit? [editline]24th July 2011[/editline] I found it for £40, but I don't know which to get.
How do I know whether to get windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit? [editline]24th July 2011[/editline] I found it for £40, but I don't know which to get.
In this day and age there really isn't any reason you shouldn't get 64-bit over 32-bit. Main advantage of 64 bit is the ability to have more than 4 gigs of ram, but even if you don't, if they're priced equal there's no reason to get 32 bit.
My cpu and mobo are running at 50c, is this bad? Can they fry themselves? [editline]24th July 2011[/editline] What's an acceptable range?
Uh..You didn't stick the heatsink directly onto the CPU did you? [editline]24th July 2011[/editline] So it's basically because no thermal paste? Also a quick google says MSI's boards are usually ~10 celsius high?
