Make the custom resolution, then go here:

and choose no scaling or aspect scaling
If this still isn't working, try changing

to another option and make sure you're using a digital connection like HDMI or DVI.
Actually it might have something to do with you running XP
I am on my netbook the pc I want this for is 7. I have tried what you showed and the problem is scaling works fine for the preset resolutions but it stretches regardless of scaling mode settings for custom resolutions.
Thanks anyway
My PC has an i5 650, and I'm looking to replace my 5670 with a 6950. Will there be any bottlenecking?
i5 650 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115220
6950 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150527
You shouldn't have any bottlenecking issues unless your resolution is ridiculously low (e.g. 1280x1024). Is it a prebuilt? If it is you'll likely need a new PSU.
My resolution's 1920x1080, and yeah it's a prebuilt but I already installed a new PSU. Thanks for the help.

ok, i was planning on getting a new case when i realised i know fuck all about fans (specificaly, how
many a motherboard can take)
As far as I can physically see my motherboard can only take 3 fans (I assume this because i can only see three 3-pin fan slots, 1 case intake, 1 CPU fan and 1 spare).
MOBO: Asus M4A785TD-V EVO, google yields nothing about fans and this motherboard.
so does the amount of fans you can have depend on the motherboard? or do fan adapters exist that
allow you to install more fans?
[sp] seriously I know nothing about fans, any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated [/sp]

you can get adapters to plug them straight into 4 pin molex connectors from the PSU, although this way they'll run at full speed all the time as there's no way to control the power going to them
or you could get a fan controller for a front bay, it wouldn't be automatic but at least you have some form of control over the fan speeds
[editline]30th July 2011[/editline]
or more simply there's something like this

that just turns one fan header into two, although if you only have two spare case fan headers this still limits you to 4 fans and so a fan controller would still be a better option
thanks for the help!
appreciated.

My motherboard had 3 sysfans and 1 cpu socket.
I managed to connect a total of 8 fans thanks to the molex converters that came with the case.
How much is my PC worth?

How much do you think I can actually make off it, I want to go Sandybridge, and I would like to use the money from this build towards the next build.

Might be able to get £500 for it?
Optimistic though.

What condition is everything in?

Nothings broken, everything is 100%, and this CPU has been tested stable at 4ghz before.
The machine runs about 4-8 hours a day. Used for light gaming so far.
90% of the time it's being used for the internet.
And it's worth about 650 brand new before shipping and tax.
This is perfectly 100% safe, right?

MBAM reports no threats for me.
It's SourceForge, you can look through the Source code and compile it yourself if you're that paranoid. that way you can know 100% what's happening in there.
I have a question of my own.

Why do I have Nvidia drivers if I've never even had an Nvidia product plugged into my computer? I suspect that certain games install them anyway. Should I remove them or let it be?
Oh sure rate me dumb and don't bother answering...
Automerge fff
Thanks though.

It's just a rating, who cares?
Irritating if someone bothers to click a little icon under your post but doesn't bother to actually help.
Just a strange pet peeve of mine.

Okay, well the program works but Facepunch doesn't want to accept it as a valid file type...
It's well under the size limit.
Anyone know why?
[editline]30th July 2011[/editline]
Nvm, got it
I'm trying to implement a money system into a little text-game test thing I'm doing but I'm get the 'local variable referenced before assignment' no matter what I do. Here's the code.
money = 0
def givemoney(amount):
print "You\'re are rewarded with {0} cents for your services!".format(amount)
money = amount + money
def next1():
givemoney(28)
var = raw_input()
If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it greatly.
can anyone link me to a guide on how to diagnose + fix a memory leak?

I would start at a Price of $750 and if that doesn't sell Drop it down a bit.
Also try to sell to people you know before selling to others.

Perfect. Thanks!
I need to have my speakers set as the default output in order for stereo mix to work, but I need to have my headphones set as the default in order to hear anything because my speakers are broken.
is there any way to make both default?
So, can anyone tell me why my games only go to 1280x720 on my 1920x1080 screen? I reinstalled my driver lots of times. They will go if edit the config, but some games don't allow that.
oh and BF3 alpha worked on 1920x1080 without being forces :D

Any difference between these two?

Performance-wise I mean
Pretty much nothing, but the Corsair one is advertised as "Ultra Stable".
Dunno if that's accurate.
Debating on my next gpu upgrade. I have a gtx570sc (1.2gb) right now, not sure to get another or sell it and buy another card.
Um, there's going to be nothing new for several months so why do you need a new GPU? If you want more power just buy a second one.

Battlefield 3 and B-stock sale are pressing me.

What?
BF3 will run incredibly on a 570, it's a waste of money.
