That's not always. I have had cases where I have wanted to search for something, but FF has thought it's a link and tried connecting to the site.
That's usually when you search for something with a period in it.
By default Firefox uses the "I'm feeling lucky" feature of Google. You can change it in the about:config page under keyword.URL.

My 6870 will be here tomorrow, what's the best course of action to replace the drivers from my 4870 with my 6870 drivers?
My 6870 will be here tomorrow, what's the best course of action to replace the drivers from my 4870 with my 6870 drivers?
Uninstall them and install the correct ones?
I bought this netbook recently: http://www.acer.ca/ac/en/CA/content/model/LU.SEV0D.106 Need to know what ram to buy for it exactly so I can upgrade it to 2gb. Links would be helpful (apparently only certain types of ram will work, some will just give a black screen). And yes I know it's ddr3 ram I need to get but don't know much more after that. Not used to these netbooks :/
Uninstall them and install the correct ones?
Are there still basic drivers for while they are uninstalled?
Are there still basic drivers for while they are uninstalled?
Yes.
Bit of a storage predicament going on right now with my main PC. I've got 4 drives in my system; a 300gb Seagate Barracuda in Slot 1 (for Windows 7 only), a 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 in Slot 2 (for data), and two other 80gb drives that are out of scope. I've also got a 1TB NAS that's got 400gb free. I'm starting to run out of space on my 1TB data drive in Slot 2, and coupled with that the 300gb barracuda has suffered near-failure once before (I have to give it a hug before I turn it on now as a precaution). The problem is that I'm pretty much completely broke, so from what I can tell I have 3 options: 1: Buy another 1TB Spinpoint F3 for Slot 5 then either use Windows Dynamic Drives or RAID to stripe them 2: Buy a 2TB Spinpoint F4 for slot 1 and move all my shit over, then stick the 1TB F3 that's left over in my NAS 3: Buy a 2TB Spinpoint F4 for my NAS and try and archive as much shit over from the F3 (comes with the benefit of having room to back shit up to the NAS) Opinions? My absolute max budget is about £70, and I'd prefer to keep Windows in its own drive for many reasons.
My 6870 just came from UPS Massive dent in the box, about the size of a sledgehammer. 6870 box is slightly dented as well, as it was directly against the box when it was hit, opposed to the rest of the padding around it. These are durable, correct? [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] Durable-ish, anyway. [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] Nevermind, Gigabyte packed the 6870 like a champ, very nice styrofoam and such. Looks untouched [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] Installing it now [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] Installing drivers now Browsing at around 800x600 [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] Done If it was about millimeter longer, it wouldn't have fit into my case.
After being Nvidia for as long as I've owned a computer, today I bought an HD6750. It was $140. Is there a better ATI card I could've bought for the same amount? Also, the 6750 looks like a pretty nice card to begin with and XFX has great customer service (from when I bought a GeForce 6200 from them long ago :v: )

I would've got a 460, it was cheaper, but I didn't want to risk spending the money and having it not work.
You guys ever try bitmining? Would it be worth it to set up a bitmining operation on my i7 + gtx470 setup?
On Windows 7, is there any way to make a window automatically open snapped to the left or right side of the screen?
What's a good HSF for a small case? Stock i5 2500k is pretty awful imo, with the circular base and all. I've reapplied thermal paste twice and it's still wonky. It's a microATX tower, but in the future I'd like to (possibly) buy this and use it in it. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811163112&cm_re=sugo-_-11-163-112-_-Product It's worth noting my motherboard has LGA 775 holes too. [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] apparently the order you push the things down matters, this is my first intel build. Still certain cores are consistently much hotter, might be because it pushes air down and there's not a lot of room around it or something. [editline]25th May 2011[/editline] wtf has windows always clicked like IE does? just reinstalled W7 and it's driving me crazy, I don't remember it before.
I want a new monitor. What should I get? I want it to be 1920x1080. I don't really know enough about monitors to pick one out. :v:
So I have a Asus netbook that one of the speakers does not work. If I do send it in for repairs should I replace the RAM with the one that came with it?
Can someone recommend me a graphics card for less that €50?
Can someone recommend me a graphics card for less that €50?
Could try and get an AMD 6570 for that if you're lucky.
So I have a Asus netbook that one of the speakers does not work. I recently updated my AMD catalyst control center to 11.5 and ever since I've had random freezes for all open windows for up to 30 seconds, anybody know how to rollback to a previous version or if the problem lies elsewhere?
I remember hearing something about TRIM support for SSDs being disabled in RAID 0 when using one with Sandy Bridge. Is this true?
hey guys, what's that website which loads lots of installers for useful software into 1 .exe? thanks
