What?
BF3 will run incredibly on a 570, it's a waste of money.
Alpha runs about 40-70 fps depending, but thats only on 1440x900 and with 32 players on a medium/small map (and probably bottle necked settings). I know its just alpha and needs tweaking, but I wonder how much they can squeeze out of that (and $250 for another 570 is kinda appetizing from $360). I guess I could be jumping the gun here, but at least tell me regardless of the situation.
Wow, just got my new X220 and the battery life is insane.
If I use GParted to partion my HDD, do I need to format the HDD or not?
And are there some in windows partion managers or smth. ?
I've used fraps to record myself playing Nightmare House 2, the files have been created and work and whatnot, but when I go to render them with the DivX codec in Camtasia Studio it just stops at 50% and instead of rendering the full 15 minutes, it renders 6 minutes.
Any suggestions on what other programs to use or something else?

You shouldn't have to, but messing around with the windows partition could cause data corruption. I was able to use a GParted Live USB to partition drives with Windows still on it.

I have about 150GB of untouched space, I think I am going to use ~100GB out of it for a new windows install. This one sucks dicks atm.
Should I upgrade to a 1gb Graphics Card?
MBAM reports no threats for me.
It's SourceForge, you can look through the Source code and compile it yourself if you're that paranoid. that way you can know 100% what's happening in there.
I have a question of my own.

Why do I have Nvidia drivers if I've never even had an Nvidia product plugged into my computer? I suspect that certain games install them anyway. Should I remove them or let it be?
If you're going off that picture then you're mistaken, check the nvidia boxes and click analyse and that will tell you if you have nvidia driver files.

You should definitely upgrade, but not necessarily to a "1 GB" graphics card. What is your budget?

Roughly £200 - £250

Keep your 570, don't waste your money. When you actually do need the performance, it'll be much cheaper to buy another.

I am getting an old computer, and I want to turn it into a little server to mess with. I will install Linux on it and I want to know if there is a program that I can use to access the console of the server on my main desktop. I saw Comp used OpenVZ for his VPSs but I am not sure if this is what is right for me
Also, please only recommend freeware I can't pay for it.
(not sure if this is the right section)

or Putty...
Whenever I try to run a game fullscreen it has a greenish tint to it, why is this?
Fullscreen windowed works fine.
[editline]1st August 2011[/editline]
It's a "thick" tint too, as if it was a problem.

HAF X
Or the HAF 932 Adv. has exactly the same fans, just less expansion slots.
Might as well post this here
I have a .bin.ecm of a game, ran it with unecm to create a .bin. but epsxe isnt picking up the .bin, what do I do?
Gonna be buying a CPU upgrade which also requires a motherboard upgrade.
Question is... ECS P67HA-A2 or the Asus Sabertooth P67?

P8P67 PRO
P67A-GD55 if you want to spend a little less
if you plan to get an SSD large enough to use SSD caching with, GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3
Exactly what would have to be done to fit an ATX motherboard inside of a MicroATX case? Would I have to drill holes in it, or what?

pull extra case out of nowhere
ATX motherboards have the length for 7 expansion slots, mATX only 4

I have been looking at some fractal Design cases any opinions on those for airflow and quietness
[sp]The HAF series is just a bit too rice for me[/sp]
These temps ok for overclocking? The i5 2500k is still at stock clocks.

This is using an Antec KÜHLER H₂O 620 which claims to be LGA 1155 compatible which it is of you mess around with the mounting stuff enough. I do have a Cooler Master 212+ laying around that is also LAG 1155 compatible. Should I give that a shot and see what happens?

No idea what "package" is.
[editline]1st August 2011[/editline]
This is how it's mounted by the way. Fit fine and doesn't budge when I try to wiggle, seems pretty secure.

they're great
they won't win any awards for airflow but they do the job fine
as for silence, the defines are excellent if that's what you want, stock fans are quiet and the noise dampening helps, especially with the seals for unused fan mounts

I'd have thought those temps should be better
try properly mounting it first, just because it doesn't move doesn't mean it's got the best contact especially if two corners aren't being held down at all
if not try the 212+, it couldn't hurt
